Faculty Perceptions of Interactions Between Students and Registered Nurses in the Clinical Learning Envirorunent
Perceptions of the relationships between nurses and staff were evaluated from a faculty perspective to uncover the ways that the faculty react, respond, and help to support students. During interviews with faculty, access to practice and clinical unit atmosphere emerged as themes. Faculty described nurses granting access to practice by mentoring students and involving them in the entire care of the patient, or nurses who limited students\u27 access to practice through unprofessional behavior, or cutting corners. Unit atmosphere influenced learning both positively and negatively depending on inclusion of students, morale, and welcoming behaviors of staff. Faculty acted as guides and assisted students with conflicts between theory and practice.·Faculty reported enhanced relationships with nursing staff and experiences for students if employed at facility of if placement in facility was over an extended period. Implications for practice include improving communication between students, staff, and management, preparing students for the placement, and recognizing the staff nurse\u27s role in the education of students both verbally and in writing
A note on the multiplicity of determinantal ideals
Herzog, Huneke, and Srinivasan have conjectured that for any homogeneous
-algebra, the multiplicity is bounded above by a function of the maximal
degrees of the syzygies and below by a function of the minimal degrees of the
syzygies. The goal of this paper is to establish the multiplicity conjecture of
Herzog, Huneke, and Srinivasan about the multiplicity of graded Cohen-Macaulay
algebras over a field for -algebras being a

The stellar population and the evolutionary state of HII regions and starburst galaxies
RHII and starbursts are both powered by massive stars. They are the main
contributors to the heating of the ISM via radiative and mechanical energy.
Techniques to derive the stellar content and the evolutionary state of RHIIs
and starbursts from their ultraviolet and optical integrated light are
reviewed. A prototypical RHII (NGC 604) and nuclear starburst (NGC 7714) are
discussed in more detail. The results reveal the necessity of multiwavelength
analyses of these objects to estimate their stellar content and their

NASA wind shear flight test in situ results
The main objectives in developing the NASA in situ windshear detection algorithm were to provide a measurement standard for validation of forward-look sensors under development, and to demonstrate the algorithm's ability to operate with a suitably low nuisance alert rate. It was necessary to know exactly how the algorithm was implemented and what parameters and filtering were used, in order to be able to fully test its effectiveness and correlate in situ results with forward-look sensor data
