    Clinical and Demographic Characteristics of Patients with COVID-19 Who Died in Modarres Hospital

    BACKGROUND: Novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome-CoV2 as a century concern affecting public health. AIM: This study aimed to find the clinical and demographic characteristics of the patients died following COVID-19 development at Modarres Hospital, Tehran, Iran. METHODS: In this descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study, 62 patients died following COVID-19 were studied in terms of age, gender, body mass index, comorbidity, symptoms, liver profile, lipid profile, hemoglobin, platelet, white blood cell, lymphocytes, neutrophils, C-reaction protein, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), creatine phosphokinase, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), potassium, magnesium, and sodium. RESULTS: The results showed that 71% of patients were male and 69.4% had positive PCR test indicating low sensitivity of the test; 90.3% of patients were above 60 years old; 56.5 of patients had lymphocytopenia; the mean age was 67.62 ± 15.07 years; with symptoms lasting 6.24 days. The mean serum creatinine and BUN were 3.18 g/dl and 125.9 mg/dl, respectively, indicating renal involvement. All patients had pulmonary involvement accompanied by other organ involvements. Regarding symptoms, 72% of patients showed fever. Some affected patients had diarrhea, lethargy, and fatigue. A comparison of comorbidities by gender showed no significant differences. CONCLUSION: According to our results, the majority of patients were overweight. In people who are more than 60 years, multi-organ failure was notable. Fever, cough, and shortness of breath were dominant symptoms like other studies, but neurological complications following COVID-19 as meningoencephalitis is possible that can be used as a differential diagnosis. We did not found differences between male and female regarding comorbidity, symptoms, and mortality rate

    Relationship between emotional intelligence and burnout syndrome in sport teachers of secondary schools

    AbstractThis research was carried out to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and burnout syndrome on sport teachers of secondary schools. The sample in this study consisted of 183 subjects of male sport teachers that selected by a systematic stratified sampling method from among of teachers in Iran- Khuzestan province. These subjects had more than 5 years job history and they did not have special mental illness or disorder history. In this research, two questionnaires were used to collect data, such as emotional intelligence questionnaire Syber yashring and burnout syndrome questionnaire Maslach. This research is correlation type so to analyze the data, were used Pearson correlation co-efficient and Analysis of Regression. Research findings showed there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and burnout Syndrome(r=-0.627). Also there are relationship between burnout syndrome and emotional intelligence components. The level of significant in this study was P<0.01

    Assessment of Health-Related Problems in Dizaj-e Siavosh Community of Urmia, Iran, Based on the North Carolina Model

    Introduction: To determine the health-related strengths, resources, and needs of a given community, it is necessary to obtain complete and correct information about its healthcare system and the people’s health problems. In this study, we identified and prioritized the health-related problems of the highly disadvantaged Dizaj-e Siavosh community of Urmia, Iran.Materials and Methods: This study was based on the so-called North Carolina Model. In this eight-step model, a community’s health-related problems are identified in the first seven stages. In the eighth stage, an operational plan is developed with the goal of addressing, prioritizing, and solving the identified problems.Results: In this study, 10 different problems were identified, including improper removal of sewage and garbage; involuntary marriage of girls, especially at an early age; the large number of poor households; the lack of continuing education for girls after elementary school; keeping pets without observing principles of health; lack of respect for a 3-year child-bearing interval; a generally poor socioeconomic situation; unemployment; widespread substance abuse; and low level of education for men. These problems were prioritized respectively.Conclusion: Most problems identified in this study were associated with people’s lack of knowledge about health-related issues, which is rooted in low social, cultural, and economic status

    Efficacy and side effects of Sputnik V, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines to stop COVID-19; a review and discussion

    We believe that vaccination is just a way to eliminate or strongly stop the COVID-19. In this regard, there are several vaccines with different efficacy and side effects. It is urgently required to have some efficient vaccines for the prevention and control of SARS-CoV-2. In this review, international databases were considered for searching relevant articles from 1 January 2020 to 1 May 2021. Keywords were COVID-19, novel coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, coronavirus disease 2019, vaccine, Sputnik V, Gamaleya, Gam-COVID-Vac, Sinopharm, BBIBP-CorV, AstraZeneca, Vaxzevria, Oxford, ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 and AZD1222. Three Sputnik V, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines are useful to gain herd immunity. Enough intervals (at least three weeks/21 days) must be considered for sufficient neutralizing antibody titers. What is important is that the vaccination should be accelerated with each of the aforementioned three vaccines to achieve herd immunity in a shorter period of time because all three vaccines provide 100% prevention of severe COVID-19

    AbstractThe purpose of present study is the effect of eight weeks elected aerobic exercise on the levels of (AST, ALT) enzymes of men patients with have fat liver, age's 20 to 45 in shooshtar city. that providing of lack of control it will have the garlic of large virulent to destroy liver fiber and cell destruction as usually hard and rough liver fiber and it density is aspired in stenography. Also the measure of cholesterol and triglyceride with liver enzymes increase in these patients. in this study the numbers of 24 patients of referred to sonography clinics of shooshtar town with the distinction of fat liver disease selected by randomly and divided to two groups of control and experimental. Measurement of (AST, ALT) diseases in two groups as pre-test were done. After eight week aerobic exercise the analysis and resolution of data were done by computer and with use of SPSS soft ware and statistical methods of deduction (t-test) and descriptive. The results of comparison between two groups showed that eight weeks aerobic exercise with a≤0.05 it cause to be the decrease of measure of (AST,ALT) of liver cells of experimental group

    Comparison of the Cardiac Structure and Function of Elite Weightlifters and Swimmers

    Introduction: Heart is the second major component in the cardiovascular system that is affected by training. The aim of this study was to compare the cardiac structure and function of three groups of swimmers, weightlifters and non-athletes. Methods: The study was a causal comparative research. The statistical sample consisted of three groups of 10 including swimmers, weightlifters and non-athletes. Athletes were the elite swimming and weightlifting volunteers who participated voluntarily in this study. Inclusion criteria for athletes included a history of at least 5 years of regular exercise. After selecting the statistical samples, all participants took part in the echo-heart test in which they were given Color Doppler M-Mode echocardiography with coordination of an echocardiologist. For data analysis one way ANOVA and bonferroni test post hoc tests were used. The p-value was defined as p ≤ 0.05. Results: The results showed that LVIDs in the swimmers had a significant decrease (p = 0.01) compared to both weightlifters (p = 0.03) and non-athletes (p =0.02). However, there was no significant difference between weightlifters and non-athletes (p = 0.88).The results also revealed a significant increase in interventricular septal end diastole (IVSd) in the weightlifters compared to the swimmers (p = 0.02) and non-athletes (p = 0.02). There was no significant difference between left ventricular internal diameter in diastole (LVIDd) (p= 0.23), left ventricular mass index (LVMI) (p = (0.70), left atrium dimensions (LAD) (p = 0.06), aortic root dimension (ARD) (p= 0.96), left ventricular posterior wall dimensions (LVPWD) (p = 0.17), heart rate (HR) (p = 0.80) and ejection fraction (EF) (p = 0.66) in the swimmers and weightlifters. Conclusion: Different changes in the cardiac structure and function of the swimmers and weightlifters are considered as physiological adjustments, and not cardiomyopathy. On the other hand, despite the different effects of strength and endurance exercises on the structure of the heart muscle, it seems that the cardiac performance of the athletes in the two disciplines are the same

    It is important to diagnose coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by the clinical symptoms, although they are not specific. Clinical symptoms of COVID-19 in pediatrics are less severe and milder than in adults, which can be threatening to the health staff. In this case study, we report a 23-year old female pediatric nurse who developed COVID-19 with the rare symptom of gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB). The case of interest was affected by two children who had a positive reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The patient had no respiratory symptoms. Despite the use of an N95 mask and face shield, the nurse was infected because the gastrointestinal symptoms were predominant. Medical staff should pay attention to silent symptoms in pediatrics. Neglecting the use of personal protective equipment in dealing with pediatric patients can be hazardous

    The Effect of High Intensity Interval Training on the Response of Coagulation and Fibrinolytic Factors of Hypertensive Patients to One Bout Submaximal Endurance Exercise

    Introduction: Extensive evidence has shown that high intensity exercise triggers blood coagulation and improves blood fibrinolysis levels. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on the response of coagulation, anticoagulant and fibrinolytic factors of hypertensive cardiovascular patients to one bout submaximal endurance exercise (OBSEE). Methods: Out of 70 men with high blood pressure, 20 men were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly divided into two equal groups: an experimental group (EG) and a control group (CG). First, both groups performed OBSEE. After that, the EG performed 12 weeks of HIIT. At the end, again, both groups performed OBSEE. Blood sampling was performed just before and immediately after each session of exercise. Dependent variables were categorized into three groups including 1. Coagulation: fibrinogen(FIB), factor VIII(FVIII), prothrombin time (PT), prothrombin time activity (PTA), international normalized ratio (INR), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), platelet (PLT), mean platelet volume (MPV) 2. Anticoagulation: protein C (PC), antithrombinIII (ATIII) 3. Fibrinolytic: d-dimer (D-D), tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), plasminogen activator inhibitor1 (PAI-I), tPA/PAI-1. To analyze the data, Shapiro- Wilk test, Factorial repeated measures ANOVA, as well as Pearson correlation coefficient were used at significant level (P ≤ 0.05). Results: HIIT caused significant increase in the rate of Vo2max (p = 0.001) and significant decrease in RHR (p = 0.001), SBP (p = 0.001) and DBP (p = 0.001). No significant difference was observed between the two groups in the response of FIB (p = 0.262), FVIII (p = 0.248), PT (p = 0.396), PTA (p = 0.646), INR (p = 0.408), aPTT (p = 0.856), PLT (p = 0.678), MPV (p = 0.223), D-D (p = 0.621), tPA (p = 0.381), PAI-1 (p = 0.353), tPA / PAI-1 (p = 0.069), PC (p = 0.147) and ATIII (p = 0.138) to OBSEE after 12 weeks HIIT. Conclusion: It seems that to observation of significant positive changes in the response of coagulation, anticoagulant, and fibrinolytic factors to one OBSEE, more than 12 weeks HIIT are required
