The spread of digital technologies has led to a new stage in the transformation of financial systems around the world and has become a trigger for innovative changes in all areas of financial intermediation. The purpose of this article is to analyze the preconditions and trends, identify the advantages, opportunities and risks of digital transformation of financial intermediation in the face of increasing competition and intensifying disintermediation, including in Ukraine. Analytical and systemic approaches, methods of comparative and factor analysis were used to achieve the article goals. The most important research results that have theoretical significance include the substantiation of conceptual approaches to the formation of a common ecosystem of financial intermediation and an insurance ecosystem based on the integration of digital technologies. It has been proved that, despite the spread of digitalization, for financial intermediaries is important the compliance with the principles of customer orientation, innovation, efficiency and effectiveness, security and organizational flexibility. The digital trends of financial intermediation in relation to its main functions have been identified, new types of risks associated with the spread of FinTech and the possible consequences of their impact have been identified. The features of the institutional structure of financial intermediation and implementation of financial innovations in Ukraine have been described, the regulatory policy of the National Bank of Ukraine, the innovative activity of FinTech industry in the context of the spread of digitalization are presented, which can be useful in terms of studying foreign experience. The results of this study can serve as a basis for understanding key trends, conceptual approaches to changing business models and formation of financial intermediation ecosystems, directions and opportunities for the introduction of innovative financial technologies for the correct orientation and response to dynamic changes in the financial services market.Širenje digitalne tehnologije dovelo je do nove faze u transformaciji financijskog sustava diljem svijete te je postalo okidačem za inovativne promjene u svim područjima financijskog posredovanja. Svrha ovog članka je analizirati preduvjete i trendove, identificirati prednosti, prilike i rizike digitalne transformacije financijskog posredništva, u okolnostima rastuće konkurencije i jačanja ne-posredništva, uključujući i Ukrajinu.

Synthesis and Structure-Activity Relationships of Novel Non-Steroidal CYP17A1 Inhibitors as Potential Prostate Cancer Agents.

Twenty new compounds, targeting CYP17A1, were synthesized, based on our previous work on a benzimidazole scaffold, and their biological activity evaluated. Inhibition of CYP17A1 is an important modality in the treatment of prostate cancer, which remains the most abundant cancer type in men. The biological assessment included CYP17A1 hydroxylase and lyase inhibition, CYP3A4 and P450 oxidoreductase (POR) inhibition, as well as antiproliferative activity in PC3 prostate cancer cells. The most potent compounds were selected for further analyses including in silico modeling. This combined effort resulted in a compound (comp 2, IC50 1.2 µM, in CYP17A1) with a potency comparable to abiraterone and selectivity towards the other targets tested. In addition, the data provided an understanding of the structure-activity relationship of this novel non-steroidal compound class

ON THE HISTORY OF DANTE’S TRANSLATIONS INTO RUSSIAN IN THE EPOCH OF MODERNISM: TRANSLATION OF «THE DIVINE COMEDY» BY V. BRUSOV

    No full text
The author examines a few excerpts from Inferno (Cantos III and V) translated into Russian by V. Brusov, both in the context of perception of «The Divine Comedy» by Dante in Russia, and from the viewpoint of verse translation methods’ evolution. The text’s analysis on the metric level gives evidence of V. Brusov’s search for new poetic forms, both through renewing and overriding the world literature classical examples, which is typical for Russian modernism of early XX century

The role of identity in digital consumer behavior : a conceptual model and research propositions based on gender

    No full text
Nowadays consumers can express their identities not only through their possessions and buying behavior, but also using social media and digital networks. This article aims to understand these digital consumer behaviors by focusing on identity strength and the identity signaling phenomenon. We develop a conceptual model that combines internal and external factors to explain the intensity and content of digital identity-related behaviors. We use the example of gender identity to build our research propositions, as gender is one of the most frequently and intensely debated identities in online consumer discussions. Further, we propose how digital and offline identity signaling behaviors are intertwined, and discuss the online behaviors of trans consumers. In doing so, our conceptual work highlights the unique features of digital identity signaling behaviors as well as the complexity of identities, including gender, and provides useful insights for researchers and marketers

Investigating tolerance of uncertainty, COVID-19 concern, and compliance with recommended behavior in four countries : The moderating role of mindfulness, trust in scientists, and power distance

Consumers' compliance with recommended behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic helps contain the spread of the virus and positively impacts marketplace outcomes. This study investigates the effect of consumers' tolerance of uncertainty on COVID-19 concern, compliance with recommended behavior, and panic buying intentions, across four countries (Germany and USA with a low power distance index; India and The Philippines with a high power distance index; N = 1272). We test the moderating role of power distance, mindfulness, and trust in scientists, among these relationships. Our results show that tolerance of uncertainty is negatively associated with COVID-19 concern, and COVID-19 concern is positively associated with compliance and panic buying intentions. In high power distance countries, tolerance of uncertainty is negatively associated with compliance. The negative association of tolerance of uncertainty with COVID-19 concern is more pronounced at low levels of mindfulness, and consumers with high COVID-19 concern and high trust in scientists demonstrated the highest compliance. Our findings reveal that stressing the importance of mindfulness, though positive overall, might not yield more compliance. Interventions to make consumers more concerned about the consequences of the pandemic and, at the same time, enhancing their trust in scientists, can lead to higher levels of compliance
