Coloured quivers for rigid objects and partial triangulations: The unpunctured case

We associate a coloured quiver to a rigid object in a Hom-finite 2-Calabi--Yau triangulated category and to a partial triangulation on a marked (unpunctured) Riemann surface. We show that, in the case where the category is the generalised cluster category associated to a surface, the coloured quivers coincide. We also show that compatible notions of mutation can be defined and give an explicit description in the case of a disk. A partial description is given in the general 2-Calabi-Yau case. We show further that Iyama-Yoshino reduction can be interpreted as cutting along an arc in the surface.Comment: 29 pages, 17 figures. Discussion in Section 6 clarified and expanded. Toward an Objective-Driven System of Smart Labor Migration Management

    Get PDF
This policy note offers motivation and a game plan for achieving a coherent and mutually beneficial labor migration system.1 It argues that migrant workers may make important contributions to economic growth and development in both sending and receiving countries if they find enabling conditions. To achieve a potential win-win-win situation requires (1) a sustainable migration management system that takes into account the interests of the various stakeholders involved; (2) a clear identification and articulation of objectives and interests in migration by key stakeholders, based on a common conceptual framework for migration and development; (3) regional and bilateral coordination mechanisms to balance these (potentially divergent) objectives and to reach compromise under labor agreements and policies; and (4) effective, evidence-based polices and public and private sector interventions to achieve the objectives that are known and applied at the levels of sending, receiving, returning, and circulating.labor, migration, remittances, migrant workers, development, growth, circulating, immigration, mobility, immigration policy

Comparing high dimensional partitions, with the Coclustering Adjusted Rand Index

    Get PDF
We consider the simultaneous clustering of rows and columns of a matrix and more particularly the ability to measure the agreement between two co-clustering partitions. The new criterion we developed is based on the Adjusted Rand Index and is called the Co-clustering Adjusted Rand Index named CARI. We also suggest new improvements to existing criteria such as the Classification Error which counts the proportion of misclassified cells and the Extended Normalized Mutual Information criterion which is a generalization of the criterion based on mutual information in the case of classic classifications. We study these criteria with regard to some desired properties deriving from the co-clustering context. Experiments on simulated and real observed data are proposed to compare the behavior of these criteria.Comment: 52 page

Severance Pay Programs around the World: History, Rationale, Status, and Reforms

    Get PDF
The paper examines severance pay programs around the world by providing the first ever overview of existing programs, examining their historic development, assessing their economic rationale and describing current reform attempts. While a significant part of the paper is devoted to a comprehensive 183 cross country review of existing severance arrangements and their characteristics, the paper goes beyond a mere description. It develops and empirically tests three hypotheses about the economic rationale of the program, namely severance pay being: (i) a primitive income protection program, (ii) an efficiency enhancing human resource instrument, and (iii) a job protection instrument. The paper also reviews the recent reforms of Austria, Chile, Italy and Korea.severance pay, termination benefit, end-of-service benefit, termination benefits, seniority pay, indemnities, leaving allowances

Estimation de Volatilité en Présence de Bruit de Microstructure Endogène

    No full text

Multivariate Realized Volatility Forecasting with Graph Neural Network

The existing publications demonstrate that the limit order book data is useful in predicting short-term volatility in stock markets. Since stocks are not independent, changes on one stock can also impact other related stocks. In this paper, we are interested in forecasting short-term realized volatility in a multivariate approach based on limit order book data and relational data. To achieve this goal, we introduce Graph Transformer Network for Volatility Forecasting. The model allows to combine limit order book features and an unlimited number of temporal and cross-sectional relations from different sources. Through experiments based on about 500 stocks from S&P 500 index, we find a better performance for our model than for other benchmarks.Comment: 13 pages, 6 tables, 4 figure

    USING FAUST FOR FPGA PROGRAMMING

    Get PDF
International audienceIn this paper we show the possibility of using FAUST (a programming language for function based block oriented programming) to create a fast audio processor in a single chip FPGA environment. The produced VHDL code is embedded in the on-chip processor system and utilizes the FPGA fabric for parallel processing. For the purpose of implementing and testing the code a complete System-On-Chip framework has been created. We use a Digilent board with a XILINX Virtex 2 Pro FPGA. The chip has a PowerPC 405 core and the framework uses the on chip peripheral bus to interface the core. The content of this paper presents a proof-of-concept implementation using a simple two pole IIR filter. The produced code is working, although more work has to be done for implementing complex arithmetic operations support
