WATER QUALITY INDEX FOR ASSESSMENT OF DRINKING WATER SOURCES FROM MEDIAŞ TOWN, SIBIU COUNTY

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the drinking water sources quality from Mediaş Town, Sibiu County. In November 2013, 6 water samples were taken from different drinking water sources and each water sample was analysed to determinate physico-chemical parameters (using a portable multiparameter WTW 320i major ions (using DIONEX ICS1500 ion chromatograph and heavy metals (using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer model ZENIT 700 Analytik Jena). The investigated physico-chemical parameters were: temperature, salinity, electrical conductivity (EC), pH, total dissolved solids (TDS) and redox potential (ORP). The analysed major ions were: lithium (Li+), sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), magnesium (Mg2+), calcium (Ca2+), fluoride( F-), chloride (Cl-), bromide (Br-), nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), phosphate (PO43- ) and sulphate (SO42-). The investigated heavy metals were: lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cooper (Cu), iron (Fe), cadmium (Cd), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr) and arsenic (As). The Water Quality Index (WQI) was calculated using the analysed water quality parameters and it ranged from 76 (very poor water quality) to 375 (unsuitable for drinking)

Quality Assessment of Waste Waters Generated by some Important Hospitals from Cluj County

Hospitals produce large quantities of waste water that may contain various potentially hazardous materials. Moreover, these effluents usually do not undergo any specific treatment before being discharged into the urban sewage networks. As a consequence, a proper management of the hospitals effluents is vital. In the present study, the quality of the effluents, generated by 11 important hospitals from Cluj County was investigated. The analyzed parameters were: pH, chemical and biochemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, residual free chlorine, and detergents. For all the effluents, the biochemical oxygen demand and the detergents content were within the permissible limits for waste water discharged in the urban sewerage system, while the other parameters exceeded the permissible limits

La inclusión de educandos con discapacidad. Una mirada a la planificación del proceso en la Educación Física (Revisión)

The attention to students with disabilities in Physical Education classes, which are developed in regular education, requires the creative and innovative character of the teacher to establish pedagogical strategies that enable the participation of all, ensure their multilateral development and the equalization of conditions. In this way, the guiding role is played by the planning of the educational process, a subject that is addressed in the essay, focused on the protagonism that curricular adaptations should have as the way for everyone to learn in the same context, with equal opportunities. It is specified that their methodological treatment must be adjusted to a format, concretized in the basic design of the class planning, in a short, medium or long term programming; in which the didactic resources that adjust or support the process are weighted. It is concluded by emphasizing the importance of keeping in mind the characteristics, needs and individual and collective potentialities of the group-class, so that the planning responds to what, how, for what and how much to teach in a common learning space; with a didactic, flexible, open to diversity character; consequently, the achievement of an inclusive and quality education.La atención a los educandos con discapacidad en las clases de Educación Física, que se desarrollan en la enseñanza regular; requiere del carácter creativo e innovador del profesor para establecer estrategias pedagógicas que posibiliten la participación de todos, garanticen su desarrollo multilateral y la equiparación de condiciones. En ese camino, el papel rector lo tiene la planificación del proceso educativo, temática sobre la cual se aborda en el ensayo, centrada en el protagonismo que deben tener las adaptaciones curriculares como la vía para que todos aprendan en el mismo contexto, en igualdad de oportunidades. Se particulariza que el tratamiento metodológico de las mismas, debe estar ajustado a un formato, concretado en el diseño básico de la planificación de la clase, en una programación a corto, medio o largo plazo; en el que se ponderen los recurso didácticos que ajustan o apoyan el proceso. Se concluye al enfatizar en la importancia de tener presente las características, necesidades y potencialidades individuales y colectivas del grupo-clase, para que la planificación responda al qué, cómo, para qué y el cuánto enseñar en un espacio común de aprendizaje; con carácter didáctico, flexible, abierto a la diversidad; en consecuencia, el logro de una educación inclusiva y de calidad

Análisis del programa de la asignatura Ginecología y Obstetricia en cuarto año de Medicina

Introduction: doctor's mission requires an efficient improvement of the teaching-learning process according to the time and space that has come to live. The analysis of the curricula, disciplines and subjects allows offering considerations that will result in its improvement. Objective: to analyze the syllabus of Gynecology and Obstetrics subject that is taught in the fourth academic year of the medical major and its contribution to the accomplishment of the social role, in correspondence with the model of professional to be trained and the  performance of the future general practitioner. Methods: the documentary review was used as empirical level method, which included the syllabus of Gynecology and Obstetrics subject. Analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction were used at the theoretical level. Results: the syllabus analyzed made possible to specify the fulfillment of the aims of Cuban education and contributes to the training of a competent professional; nevertheless it is capable of being perfected.  Conclusion: the syllabus of Gynecology and Obstetrics increases the quality of the teaching-learning process and health care integration, as there is a relationship between the disciplines, which at the same time, contributes to the accomplishment of their social role in accordance with the model of physicians trained and their performance.Introducción: La misión del médico exige una mejora eficiente del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de acuerdo al tiempo y al espacio que le ha tocado vivir. El análisis de los programas de estudio, disciplinas y asignaturas permite ofrecer consideraciones que redundarán en su perfeccionamiento.Objetivo: analizar el programa de la asignatura Ginecología y Obstetricia que se imparte en el cuarto año académico de la carrera de Medicina y su contribución al logro del encargo social, en correspondencia con el modelo de desempeño profesional del médico general.Métodos: se empleó como método del nivel empírico la revisión documental, que incluyó el programa de la asignatura Ginecología y Obstetricia. Se utilizaron además, del nivel teórico el análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción.Resultados: el programa analizado permite concretar el cumplimiento de los fines de la educación cubana y contribuye a la formación de un profesional competente en su desempeño profesional no obstante es susceptible de ser perfeccionado. Conclusiones: el programa de la asignatura Ginecología y Obstetricia logra elevar la calidad de la integración docente-asistencial por existir relación entre los temas y contribuye al logro del encargo social, en correspondencia con el modelo de desempeño profesional del médico general

Fortalecimiento de los valores a través de la asignatura Preparación para la Defensa II / Strengthening moral values through the Subject "Preparation for Defense-2"

En la preparación del profesional de la salud reviste gran importancia el enfrentamiento a desastres ya sean naturales o provocados por el hombre. Es por ello que se hacen esfuerzos porque estos profesionales culminen sus estudios de pregrado con la máxima preparación física, política y humana. Se trabajó con el objetivo de proponer tareas docentes en las unidades temáticas 8 y 9 de la asignatura Preparación para la Defensa II para el fortalecimiento de valores en los estudiantes de 4to año académico de la carrera de Medicina. El sistema de valores en esta asignatura se fortalece a través de tareas docentes propuestas por el profesor en las actividades docentes. La formación de valores se hace imprescindible a la hora de enfocar dicha preparación si se trata de lograr un profesional capaz de actuar en cada momento con la capacidad y pertinencia que este requiera desde cada disciplina o asignatura. El accionar del médico, la enfermera u otro personal asistencial ha puesto el nombre de Cuba en múltiples ocasiones en la cúspide de la solidaridad.Palabras clave: valores, estrategia, enseñanza. ABSTRACT During the training of health professionals facing disasters either natural or those caused by man are of great importance. Efforts are undertaken for the health professionals to end the pre-graduate studies having the highest physical, political and humane preparation. This paper was aimed at suggesting teaching tasks in the subject matters 8 and 9 of the Subject "Preparation for Defense-2" to strengthen moral values in medical students enrolled in 4th academic year. The system of values in this subject is strengthened by means of teaching tasks proposed by the professors in the teaching-learning activities. The formation of moral values is indispensable to approach such preparation, or when a health professional is able to deal with each circumstance having the adequate and required capacity and pertinence from every discipline or subject taught. The performance of doctors, nurses or other health personnel in medical missions has placed Cuba at the pinnacle of solidarity. Key words: social values, strategies, teaching
