    SCHOOL OF THOUGH IN ISLAMIZATION OF ECONOMICS PROCESS

    The problem and shortcoming of economics are some of the trigger of a growing awareness among Muslim scholars of the ned to find out an alternative for Western Economics. This-alternative is in the form of Islamic Economics. In order to develop this body of Islamic Economics, there are two alternative ways, namely: first, by islamizing the conventional economics and second, by developing a fremework from Quran and Sunnah. This paper ain two answer two important issues is Islamizing economic proses, i.e: (1) what are the processes of the scholars in their efforts to Islamize the economics, and (2) what are the similarities and differences of the scholars’ view? Using a literature study approach, we analyze the scholars though in order to answer the questions above. Based on our analyses, we reveals that the scholars are similar in their evolutionary approach-the synthesis between the modern economics and the shariah based economics-instead of revolutionary one, in doing the Islamization of economics, even though with variety emphasizes and focuses

    ASEAN Economic Community, that will be launched by the end of year 2015, has some purposes, among others are to encourage economic growth and welfare of the ASEAN member countries populations, through the creation of single market and unity production base that permits the free flow of goods, services, investment and labor. In order to become beneficiaries of the ASEAN Economic Community, it is necessary to optimize all the opportunities that available. South Sumatra has the potential to increase economic growth within the framework of the demographic bonus/dividend concept, as a result of demographic dynamics in the form of changes in the structure of the working age population. These opportunities need to be optimized in the context of the ASEAN Economic Community. Therefore the aim of this study was to determine whether the population growth in the southern Sumatra region can boost economic growth to face the challenges of the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the data used were GDP, and the population aged 15 years and above for the period of 2001 to 2012. The simple linear regression techniques were used to process the data. The result from this study found that there is a positive and significant relationship between population growth and economic growth

    Secondary School Enrollment Impact on the Economic as An Essential Input of Civilization

    The study aims to examine the impact of education on the economy as an essential input of civilization by comparing the two major groups of countries in the world, Islam and the West. These two major groups of countries that are often opposed, including in terms of the economic system implemented in both groups of countries. Since it is argued that Islamic nations apply a specific system of financial in the economy, namely the Islamic financial system, hence this research investigated the effect of both group nations (Islamic or non-Islamic) comparatively to the economy. The research method used in this research is quantitative approach by using statistical analysis, multiple linear regression, as the method of data analysis, in order to obtain results that can be drawn conclusions as a result in this study. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that education has a positive and significant impact to the economy, as an input of civilization, although there are no different economic conditions between the Islamic (OIC member) Countries and non-Islamic one.     One of the policies that must be implemented by the government in order to expand employment or to expand the labor market is the implementation of the entrepreneurship program. Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia support this policy through the Student Entrepreneurship Program. This study aimed to identify and analyze factors determining students` interest to participate in the student entrepreneurship program in Palembang, Indonesia. The method used was quantitative analysis. Primary data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression. These results obtained from the respondents` data were that students in Palembang had a number of contributing factors that influenced their entrepreneurial interests, namely: autonomy, economic challenges, self-aware, social environment, confident feeling, academic support, social support, and freedom to work
