    In different kinds of samples (odour sources) abt. 60 cabin air components with intense odour were identified. We determined odour threshold values for these components or refer to values we found in literature. From this list 15 substances had been chosen as 'critical odorous substances' in cabin air.     The filtration efficiency of an adsorptive filter system (activated carbon filter) with key components for cabin air pollution was examined under real life conditions. The spontaneous filtration efficiency and its change with increasing pollution, assuming pollutions with different intensities from field tests, was determined. The examination focussed on the determination of the filter behaviour against very odorous VOC and the filter capacity, the presumable filter life time, respectively.
