Top quark production at future lepton colliders in the asymptotic regime

    Get PDF
The production of a tt(bar) pair from lepton-antilepton annihilation is considered for values of the center of mass energy much larger than the top mass, typically of the few TeV size. In this regime a number of simplifications occurs that allows to derive the leading asymptotic terms of various observables using the same theoretical description that was used for light quark production. Explicit examples are shown for the Standard Model and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model cases.Comment: 20 pages and 13 figures. e-mail: [email protected]

The processes of gluon fusion producing chargino or neutralino pairs at high energies

According to the helicity conservation (HCns) theorem, the sum of the helicities should be conserved, in any 2-to-2 processes in MSSM with R-parity conservation, at high energies; i.e. all amplitudes violating this rule, must vanish asymptotically. The realization of HCns in gluon-fusion to charginos or neutralinos is studied, at the one loop electroweak order (EW), and simple high energy expressions are derived for the non-vanishing helicity conserving (HC) amplitudes. These are very similar to the corresponding expressions for ggW+W,ZZ,γZ,γγgg \to W^+W^-, ZZ, \gamma Z, \gamma\gamma derived before. Asymptotic relations among observable unpolarized cross sections for many such processes are then obtained, some of which may hold at LHC-type energies.Comment: Extended version to appear in International Journal of Modern Physics A 21 page

Logarithmic SUSY electroweak effects on four-fermion processes at TeV energies

We compute the MSSM one-loop contributions to the asymptotic energy behaviour of fermion-antifermion pair production at future lepton-antilepton colliders. Besides the conventional logarithms of Renormalization Group origin, extra SUSY linear logarithmic terms appear of "Sudakov-type". In the TeV range their overall effect on a variety of observables can be quite relevant and drastically different from that obtained in the SM case.Comment: 19 pages and 14 figures, corrected version. e-mail: [email protected]

Breit - Wigner parameters of nucleon resonance S11(1535)

The result of partial - wave analysis of angular distributions for the process gamma+p -> eta +p at the energies upto 2 GeV are given. From the energy dependence of the regression coefficient a0(W) the reliable estimates of Breit - Wigner parameters of S11(1535) - resonance and energy dependence of real and imagenery parts of electric dipol amplitude E0+ and its phase were obtainedComment: 12 pages, 11 figure

Unified theory for Goos-H\"{a}nchen and Imbert-Fedorov effects

A unified theory is advanced to describe both the lateral Goos-H\"{a}nchen (GH) effect and the transverse Imbert-Fedorov (IF) effect, through representing the vector angular spectrum of a 3-dimensional light beam in terms of a 2-form angular spectrum consisting of its 2 orthogonal polarized components. From this theory, the quantization characteristics of the GH and IF displacements are obtained, and the Artmann formula for the GH displacement is derived. It is found that the eigenstates of the GH displacement are the 2 orthogonal linear polarizations in this 2-form representation, and the eigenstates of the IF displacement are the 2 orthogonal circular polarizations. The theoretical predictions are found to be in agreement with recent experimental results.Comment: 15 pages, 3 figure
