    Get PDF
The paper provides an in-depth analysis of the artifacts generated by the Telegram Messenger application on Android OS which provides secure communications between individuals, groups, and channels. Since the past few years, the application went through major changes and updates and the latest version’s artifacts varied from the previous ones. Our methodology is based on the set of experiments designed to generate the artifacts from various use cases on the virtualized environment. The acquired artifacts such as messages, their location, and data structure how they relate to one another were studied and were then compared to the older versions. By correlating the artifacts of newer version with the older ones, it shows how the application have been upgraded behind the scenes and by incorporating those results can provide investigators better understanding and insight for the certain evidence in a potential cybercrime case

Kahneman and Tversky’s approach to preference under uncertainty is aversion to loss realization. This paper is an attempt to highlight this phenomenon with a unique approach. In order to beat the market fund managers are required to manage their portfolio at regular intervals. The tendency to sell the winners too early and ride the losers for long “disposition effect” can affect the Management decision of fund managers. This paper investigates the mediating role of disposition effect between mental accounting, aversion to regret, self control and portfolio Management. For this purpose we use the extended version of Shefrin and Statman framework and include Dyl’s tax consideration. In order to provide empirical evidence survey has been conducted from mutual fund managers.  CFA and Cronbach’s alpha is used to test the reliability of the instrument. AMOS tool is used to test the structure equation model for disposition effect and portfolio Management. Results confirmed that disposition effect plays significant role of mediator between mental accounting, aversion to regret, self control and portfolio Management. However tax consideration has direct loading on forward Management. It means that disposition effect plays significant role in decisions of fund managers; however investors are aware of tax consideration

This study explores the dimensions at which foreign exchange markets of Pakistan are under influence of some internal factors i.e Discount rate and interest rate and how it really effects the Forexchange markets of Pakistan. The study also explores the effect of discount rate and interest rate effects on five major currencies for which the data is collected from state bank of Pakistan, economic survey of Pakistan and business recorder, HEC Digital Library, Articles from different Journals, Annual reports of SBP and KSE, International Financial Statistical Yearbook, BOP & BOT Statistical year book. After analyzing the data the study showedthe overall positive impact of the discount rate and interest rate on the foreign exchange of Pakistan which included five major currencies i.e. USD, GBP, JPY, CAD and EURO. We used correlation and regression analysis to test our hypothesis which says that discount rate and interest rate has positive impact on the foreign exchange market of Pakistan. Background and Objective: The most common spinal procedure in our set up to address various disorders of the cervical spine like prolapsed intervertebral disc, trauma, and degenerative disc disease is an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). As there is no technique without complication, this procedure is also related with certain important complications. We evaluated post-operative complications of ACDF in our institution.Material and Methods: The preoperative data of 148 patients who were operated in last 3 years for ACDF isincluded in the study. Patients with previous neck surgery are excluded. Results: The most commonly performed surgical interventions is single level ACDF (65%). Dysphagia is mostsignificant (16%) complication. After which neurological deterioration (9%) with equal incidence of RecurrentLaryngeal Nerve Palsy and wound infection that is 8% each. Conclusion: The most common post-operative complications are dysphagia and worsening of preexistingneurology and multilevel ACDF is identified as the most common risk factor. Early recognition of complicationsand management may help to reduce mortality and morbidity

Bi-Variate Causal Estimates of Dividend Yield, Earning Yield Ratios and Stock Index: A Case of Karachi Stock exchange

The study examines the relationships between Pakistan’s market stock returns, dividend yields and earning yield ratios. Specifically, it examines the existence of long-run and short-run relationships between and among stock market return, dividend yield and earnings earning yield ratios. Using the monthly data from 1997-2007, the study finds that all these fundamental variables have a strong long run relationships. As for the short run relationship, the results show significant predictive power from dividend yield to stock return and stock market return to earning yield ratio. In addition to applying vector error correction model, the results show that there is the significant long-term equilibrium between stock market index, dividend yield and earning yield ratios. Hence, fundamental variables are an important source of information in determining the stock market returns and useful to investors and other stakeholders in making their investment decisions. Keywords: Causal Relationship, Dividend Yield, Earning Yield and Stock Index

Background: - Trigeminal neuralgia is a disease typically characterized by involuntary attacks of lancinating pain in the distribution of the trigeminal nerve that are activated by non-noxious stimuli. Numerous anticonvulsants, either alone or in combination, remain the first choice in the medical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.3If the disease becomes non responsive, there are numerous surgical options like micro vascular decompression or minimally invasive percutaneous lesioning of the trigeminal nerve, such as glycerol rhizolysis, Radiofrequency Rhizotomy, and balloon compression. Objective: - To determine efficacy of percutaneous Radiofrequency Rhizotomy for trigeminal neuralgia in terms of early pain relief in a tertiary care hospital. Methods: -  62 patients with refractory trigeminal neuralgia or lancinating, recurrent episodes of pain in the distribution of Ophthalmic (V1) and Mandibular (V3) branches of trigeminal nerve, not responsive to 6 months of conservative treatment were included. Study was completed in one year i.e. from March 2015 to Feb 2016. Result: - In our study population, 62 included patients were had mean age 56.08 ± 7.39 years. 44 patients (71%) were male. Our treatment was effective in 58 patients (93.5%) while there was recurrence among 4 (6.5%) only. Conclusion: - It is concluded that the efficacy of percutaneous Radiofrequency Rhizotomy for trigeminal neuralgia in terms of complete relief of pain with intact sensations in treated branch region is excellent (93.5%)

Introduction:  Head injury patients constitute a major number to any trauma emergency. Every head injury patient whose level of consciousness seems to alter, must be checked for brain injury. With the help of Computed Tomography (CT), Radiological evaluation has experienced a drastic change because it precisely explores the location and nature of lesion(s). Material and Methods:  This study included 408 patients that were admitted to the emergency of Teaching Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan, from October 2017 to September 2019. In this study, the location as well as nature of lesions were evaluated with the help of CT. Results:  CT results expressed that there was skull fracture (28.4%), extra dural hematoma (20.6%), diffuse intra cerebral hematoma (18.6%), brain contusions (18%), subdural hematoma (5.9%), diffuse axonal injury (DAI) (4.4%), subarachnoid hemorrhage (2.5%) and pneumocranium (1.5%). It was also noted that the males having age group between 20 – 35 years were mostly involved in head trauma and the reason for this was a road accident. Conclusion:  CT scan explained the location and nature of brain and skull lesions. Keywords:  Computed Tomography (CT), Road Accident, Head Trauma
