An intriguing autopsy case of gangrene intestine
Hypothyroidism, or myxedema, is the clinical syndrome that
results from decreased production of T4 and T3.Most
patients have primary hypothyroidism .The etiology of adult
primary hypothyroidism includes autoimmune
hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s thyroiditis), post – ablation
after radio-active iodine, thyroid surgery and drugs such as
Amiodarone and Lithium. Manifestations are variable and
proportionate to the degree and duration of thyroid hormone
deficiency as well as age of onset. The presence of goiter is
common in younger patients (Hashimoto’s) but often absent
in the elderly. Clinical features of hypothyroidism are
insidious and often missed, particularly in the elderly
An intriguing autopsy case of gangrene intestine
Background
Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is one of the most common causes of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a known cause of hyperlipidemia. There is a strong correlation between coronary and mesenteric vessel atherosclerosis. Acute mesenteric ischemia is a cause of intestinal hemorrhagic infarction.
Case history
We present an autopsy case of 35-year-old male who presented with features of obstruction and edema with previously undetected hypothyroidism.
Conclusion
Hypothyroidism associated with atherosclerosis can lead to fatal intestinal gangrene as corroborated by this autopsy case.
Key words –Hypothyroidism, intestinal gangrene, autopsy, atherosclerosi
Language Identification: Contrivance Learning Process Using Web Based Disquisition
Language identification is the foremost task in the study of linguistics .The projections of language identification & conversions such as Google translate or any other hypothetical translator works in wonders. The mechanism of detecting the language performed by these translators is a real marvel. Hence in this divertissement it is of the primary importance to study the methods of identifying the language. In this paper, the methodologies of recognizing some of the Natural Languages such as English, Kannada, Hindi & Telugu is explained on the basis of N-Gram algorithm and the respective vowels and consonants of each of the languages are retrieved and stored for building the syntactic structure of the corpus
Biomimetic polymer based composites with 1-D titania fillers for dental applications
The aim of this study was to develop acrylic matrix composites reinforced with one-dimensional (1-D) titanium dioxide (TiO2) micro and nano fillers that mimic the structure of enamel. To accomplish this, 1-D TiO2 was synthesized without surfactants or templates using a sol-gel assisted hydrothermal process. Two different approaches were investigated. One used titanium metal powder and yielded TiO2 rutile microrods. The other used titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) and created TiO2 anatase nanorods. TiO2 morphology (size, aspect ratio and state of agglomeration) was affected by glycolic acid concentration and phosphate ion concentration for the titanium metal-based powders, and NaOH concentration for TTIP based powders. Composites were made with silanized TiO2 micro- and nano-rods in a 50:50 BisGMA:TEGDMA matrix. Organized composites made by injection molding or centrifuging and settling had more uniform mechanical properties (hardness, strength, Young’s modulus and toughness) than unorganized composites. Curing the composites under pressure reduced porosity enhancing mechanical behavior
Phonetic Dictionary for Natural Language Processing: Kannada
India has 22 officially recognized languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Clearly, India owns the language diversity problem. In the age of Internet, the multiplicity of languages makes it even more necessary to have sophisticated Systems for Natural Language Process. In this paper we are developing the phonetic dictionary for natural language processing particularly for Kannada. Phonetics is the scientific study of speech sounds. Acoustic phonetics studies the physical properties of sounds and provides a language to distinguish one sound from another in quality and quantity. Kannada language is one of the major Dravidian languages of India. The language uses forty nine phonemic letters, divided into three groups: Swaragalu (thirteen letters); Yogavaahakagalu (two letters); and Vyanjanagalu (thirty-four letters), similar to the vowels and consonants of English, respectively
Survey Report on Sending Data Securely using IoT over Cloud
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects, computers, cars, houses, and other things embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, allowing these objects to collect and exchange data. In the new technology market, IoT innovations is the next major step, but with the big difference that it brings about massive changes in business usability. A flare in the number of connected devices as well as placed locations is anticipated over the next few years and the functions that they will perform. Due to recent developments in networking and sensor technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) has grown rapidly. It seems very difficult to link that object together through the internet, but within a time frame, the internet of things will change our lives dramatically
Encryption and Decryption of Images with Pixel Data Modification Using Hand Gesture Passcodes
To ensure data security and safeguard sensitive information in society, image encryption and decryption as well as pixel data modifications, are essential. To avoid misuse and preserve trust in our digital environment, it is crucial to use these technologies responsibly and ethically. So, to overcome some of the issues, the authors designed a way to modify pixel data that would hold the hidden information. The objective of this work is to change the pixel values in a way that can be used to store information about black and white image pixel data. Prior to encryption and decryption, by using Python we were able to construct a passcode with hand gestures in the air, then encrypt it without any data loss. It concentrates on keeping track of simply two pixel values. Thus, pixel values are slightly changed to ensure the masked image is not misleading. Considering that the RGB values are at their border values of 254, 255 the test cases of masking overcome issues with the corner values susceptibility
Ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma (OPA) in sheep: an update on epidemiology, pathogenesis and diagnosis
Ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma (OPA) is a spontaneous lung tumor in sheep caused by Jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus (JSRV) belonging to the Retroviridae. The primary aim of this review work is to give brief insights into the epidemiological aspects of OPA based on a meta-analysis of available research work. This review article also discussed pathogenesis, diagnostic tests and control strategies available for OPA in Sheep. This will help in developing future strategies for disease-free status in India. This disease is endemic in Europe, Africa, Asia, and American continents, causing significant economic losses due to chronic respiratory illness and persistent infections in flocks. The virus is unique among retroviruses with selective affinity to lungs and is the only virus known to cause spontaneous lung tumors in sheep. The incubation time ranges for sheep with naturally occurring OPA ranged from one to four years. There are two pathological forms of the disease: classical and atypical. At an early stage, OPA is difficult to detect in sheep due to a lack of preclinical diagnostic methods, as JSRV is poorly immunogenic and doesn't induce an immune response. PCR, histopathology, and immunohistochemistry are recommended methods for OIE diagnosis. To become a JSRV-free country, mandatory surveillance, detection, and removal of positive animals are required, as OPA is difficult to control due to a lack of vaccines and preclinical diagnostic tests. Due to its similar histological and molecular pathogenesis to that of human lung cancer, OPA is considered an ideal large animal model of human lung adenocarcinoma
