    Role of Samyoga Viruddha Ahara in Kustha Vyadhi - An Observational Study

    Food plays a decisive role in development, sustain, reproduction and termination of life. Through centuries, Food has been recognized as an important factor for human beings, in health and diseased state. Viruddha Ahara is one potent causative factor for several diseases. Consumption of Viruddha Ahara gives rise to various disturbances of mild to violent nature and disease of acute to chronic nature including the eight Maharogas, genetic disturbances and even sometimes causes death of the person. To conduct on observational study to access the role of Samyoga Viruddha Ahara is one of the Nidana for manifestation of Kustha Vyadhi. In the present observational study were selected of total 50 patients was conducted at O.P.D, Patients were screened on the basis of specially prepared questionnaires format. On Observational study majority of patients i.e. 82% of patients were consumed Samyoga Viruddha Ahara majority of patients i.e. 58% were consuming Viruddha Ahara (Samyogaja Viruddha Ahara), 26% were doing Malamutra Vega Dharana, 16% were doing Vyayama after Bhojana and 36% patients were doing Diwaswapna

    A comparative evaluation of teaching and learning methodology on effective perception by Guru Shishya Parampara versus Audio-Visual Method with special reference to Trividha Roga Vishesha Vignyaniya Adhyaya

    Teaching and learning methods are two important phases in educational system. In this the term education is not only the art of learning the facts but also training of the mind to think. In the present study the topic selected was Trividha Roga Vishesha Vijnyaniya Adhyaya. In this chapter the 3 folds for examination of Roga-Rogi pariksha is Aptopadesha, Pratyaksha and Anumana. Here, we had adopted the principles of Guru-Shishya Parampara and Audio-Visual method. In the present study Guru (mentor) gives his knowledge to Shishya (disciple) by adopting the principle of GSP. This study randomly enrolled 50 students of 2nd year B.A.M.S. students with an aim to compare the learning outcomes of both traditional Guru Shishya Parampara method and Audio-Visual method. Pre and post study evaluation was done by MCQ test and feedback was obtained on a questionnaire. Data obtained was analysed statically with help of Wilcoxon signed rank test and Chi square test. It is concluded that GSP was useful to enhance the learning with significance level p < 0.0001

    A conceptual study on Charakokta Nidana of Visarpa with special reference to present day Ahara and Vihara

    The aim of Ayurveda is “Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshana” and “Aturasya Vikara Prashamana,” it is achieved on the bases of various concepts of Ayurveda. Nidana is one of them. To cope with the fast developing field of medicine many Ayurvedic concepts are to be reviewed, also must be updated and presented so as to fulfill the lacunae in diagnosis and treatment of the disease. With this background, the study “A conceptual study on Charakokta Nidana of Visarpa with special Reference to present day Aharaja and Viharaja” was carried out. All the skin diseases including Visarpa can be prevented if effective care is taken in terms of avoidance of predisposing factors. Since it is not very sure about the exact causative factors of Visarpa, so this Observational study may help to identify the most commonly involved Nidana. Nidana in causation of Visarpa which in turn may help for initiating preventive measures. Nidana of Visarpa explained in Charaka Samhita still holds good in present day life style
