On the genuine bound states of a non-relativistic particle in a linear finite range potential
We explore the energy spectrum of a non-relativistic particle bound in a
linear finite range, attractive potential, envisaged as a quark-confining
potential. The intricate transcendental eigenvalue equation is solved
numerically to obtain the explicit eigen-energies. The linear potential, which
resembles the triangular well, has potential significance in particle physics
and exciting applications in electronics.Comment: Latex, 8 pages, 1 Table, 1 Figur
I-V-T analysis of radiation damage in high efficiency Si solar cells
A detailed analysis of current-voltage characteristics of N(+)-P/P solar cells indicate that there is a combination of different mechanisms which results in an enhancement in the dark current and in turn deteriorates the photovoltaic performance of the solar cells after 1 MeV e(-) irradiation. The increase in the dark current is due to three effects, i.e., bulk recombination, space charge recombination by deep traps and space charge recombination through shallow traps. It is shown that the increase in bulk recombination current is about 2 to 3 orders of magnitude whereas space charge recombination current due to shallow traps increases only by an order or so and no space charge recombination through deep traps was observed after irradiation. Thus, in order to improve the radiation hardness of these devices, bulk properties should be preserved
An analysis method for multi-component airfoils in separated flow
The multi-component airfoil program (Langley-MCARF) for attached flow is modified to accept the free vortex sheet separation-flow model program (Analytical Methods, Inc.-CLMAX). The viscous effects are incorporated into the calculation by representing the boundary layer displacement thickness with an appropriate source distribution. The separation flow model incorporated into MCARF was applied to single component airfoils. Calculated pressure distributions for angles of attack up to the stall are in close agreement with experimental measurements. Even at higher angles of attack beyond the stall, correct trends of separation, decrease in lift coefficients, and increase in pitching moment coefficients are predicted
