Software Effort Estimation using Neuro Fuzzy Inference System: Past and Present

    Get PDF
Most important reason for project failure is poor effort estimation. Software development effort estimation is needed for assigning appropriate team members for development, allocating resources for software development, binding etc. Inaccurate software estimation may lead to delay in project, over-budget or cancellation of the project. But the effort estimation models are not very efficient. In this paper, we are analyzing the new approach for estimation i.e. Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (NFIS). It is a mixture model that consolidates the components of artificial neural network with fuzzy logic for giving a better estimation

Identification and acute targeting of gaps in atrial ablation lesion sets using a real-time magnetic resonance imaging system

pre-printBackground-Radiofrequency ablation is routinely used to treat cardiac arrhythmias, but gaps remain in ablation lesion sets because there is no direct visualization of ablation-related changes. In this study, we acutely identify and target gaps using a real-time magnetic resonance imaging (RT-MRI) system, leading to a complete and transmural ablation in the atrium. Methods and Results-A swine model was used for these studies (n=12). Ablation lesions with a gap were created in the atrium using fluoroscopy and an electroanatomic system in the first group (n=5). The animal was then moved to a 3-tesla MRI system where high-resolution late gadolinium enhancement MRI was used to identify the gap. Using an RT-MRI catheter navigation and visualization system, the gap area was ablated in the MR scanner. In a second group (n=7), ablation lesions with varying gaps in between were created under RT-MRI guidance, and gap lengths determined using late gadolinium enhancement MR images were correlated with gap length measured from gross pathology. Gaps up to 1.0 mm were identified using gross pathology, and gaps up to 1.4 mm were identified using late gadolinium enhancement MRI. Using an RT-MRI system with active catheter navigation gaps can be targeted acutely, leading to lesion sets with no gaps. The correlation coefficient (R2) between the gap length was identified using MRI, and the gross pathology was 0.95. Conclusions-RT-MRI system can be used to identify and acutely target gaps in atrial ablation lesion sets. Acute targeting of gaps in ablation lesion sets can potentially lead to significant improvement in clinical outcomes

Blast vibration monitoring in opencast mines

    Get PDF
In this report the blast vibration monitoring techniques is studied. Ground vibration induced by blasting practices in mines has become a serious environmental issue in today’s scenario. Various factors influence the blast vibration being produced from the blasting practices such as the pattern of blasting, drilling pattern, quality and quantity of explosives being used, delay pattern etc. Also the vibration which is being generated by the blasting practices is comprised of two types of waves, body and surface waves. Some of the after blast features are also required to be studied in order to determine the safe blasting practices. Three types of adverse effects are generally associated with the blasting practices, Air blast, Fly rock and Ground vibration, However the amplitude, frequency and duration of the ground vibration is determined by the non-controllable(local geology, rock characteristic and distances of the structure from blast site) and controllable parameters(Charge weight, Delay interval, Type of explosive ,Direction of blast progression, Coupling, confinement, Spatial distribution of charges, Burden, spacing and specification and specific charge). For the purpose of determination of the safe Charge per Delay a number of researchers have given various theories and equations. The feasibility of the CMRI equation is studied in this report. Also there are various equipment’s available globally for measuring the ground vibration and air blast. In the present study Minimate Blaster specification has been studied in detail. All the blasting operations were obtained at different- different distances. According graphs were plotted for the data’s available from the blasting practices and the safe Charge per Delay and Peak Particle Velocity is determined for the mine in accordance with the DGMS regulations

Background: The anganwadi worker (AWW) is the backbone of integrated child development services (ICDS) for delivering the services of the program. Being a key functionary, her level of knowledge regarding various components of ICDS is linked to the ultimate outcome of the ICDS program. Thus, this study was aimed to assess the level of knowledge among AWW regarding services of ICDS.Methods: This was a cross sectional study in which level of knowledge regarding ICDS among anganwadi worker was assessed using structured questionnaire. The primary outcome of the study is the knowledge of AWW about ICDS component services. Descriptive statistics was presented as frequency and percentage for categorical variable. The knowledge of AWW was assessed by knowledge score made under all the themes of the questionnaire and was presented as mean and median score. Analysis was done in STATA version 14.2.Results: Nearly 55% of the respondents were not aware about ICDS services. Whereas majority had knowledge on growth monitoring and immunization respectively, above the median score, only 39% of AWW had knowledge on nutritional supplementation above median score. The variables such as education level and training of AWW showed significant association with the knowledge of ICDS components. Conclusions: There is need for improving knowledge and awareness about various ICDS components and the training quality provided to AWWs

Role of IGF-1 in goat semen freezing: A Review

    Get PDF
This review is based on the importance of Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) in goat semen cryopreservation. Recent studies indicate that certain growth factors determine the seminal quality due to the interaction between seminal plasma and spermatozoa. Cryopreservation is the technique used to preserve semen at extremely low temperatures for extended periods, which is essential for artificial insemination (AI) and selective breeding programs. IGF-I promotes the proliferation and maturation of spermatozoa. IGF-I is involved in sperm motility, DNA fragmentation, membrane integrity and fertilizing capacity. There was a significant positive correlation between the weight of animals and IGF-1 genotype diversity. This review aims to investigate the effect of IGF-1 fortification in semen cryopreservation. Further, the review article also assesses the role of IGF-1 in improving the post-thaw quality and viability of goat semen, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the success rates of AI. The research gap this review aims to fill is the limited understanding of the role of IGF-1 fortification on goat semen cryopreservation

Sec6 mutations and the Drosophila exocyst complex

    Get PDF
To allow a detailed analysis of exocyst function in multicellular organisms, we have generated sec6 mutants in Drosophila. We have used these mutations to compare the phenotypes of sec6 and sec5 in the ovary and nervous system, and we find them to be similar. We also find that Sec5 is mislocalized in sec6 mutants. Additionally, we have generated an epitope-tagged Sec8 that localized with Sec5 on oocyte membranes and was mislocalized in sec5 and sec6 germ-line clones. This construct further revealed a genetic interaction of sec8 and sec5. These data, taken together, provide new information about the organization of the exocyst complex and suggest that Sec5, Sec6 and Sec8 act as a complex, each member dependent on the others for proper localization and function

Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Arunachal Pradesh: Opportunities and Challenges

    Get PDF
Bio-geographically, Arunachal Pradesh is the wealthiest province of the entire Himalayas. The picturesque terra firma full of natural beauty and rich cultural opulence, in its entirety, falls under the eastern Himalayan landscape. This north eastern territory of the country was previously called “Terra Incognita” till the beginning of the 20th Century, and hitherto remains one of the least studied states in India today. The state’s socio-economic development is currently in a transitional phase with variations across different districts. Considering the quality of social capital available, there is a dire need to emphasise proper resource flow and foster an understanding of the importance of the existent social capital. It may be noted that entrepreneurs are powerful instruments of development and economic change. So, panacea in the long term is the promotion of social innovation and entrepreneurship, which will give momentum to the State’s developmental agenda and address the state’s social issues. Indeed requires a motivating ecosystem which prioritises essential skills and innovation and adopts a fresh, sustainable view of resources and technology. Therefore, the present paper explores the prospects of social innovation and entrepreneurship in the state with particular reference to contemporary social concerns adopting a practice-based approach. &nbsp
