Molecular ribbons: Hydrothermal synthesis and structural characterization of [{Cu(dipic)(H2O)}2(ÎĽ-4,4' -bipy)].2H2O (dipic=pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato; 4,4'bipy= 4,4' -bipyridyl)

299-302Hydrothermal reaction of Cu(OAc)2H2O with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyk acid (dipicH2) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) afforded an inorganic-organic hybrid material with an empirical formula, C24 H18 O10 N4 Cu2.2H2O (1). Single crystal X-ray structure determination shows that complex (1) crystallized in the triclinic space group P-1. The unit cell contains one and a half  molecules of [{Cu(C7H3NO4)(H2O)}2 (C10H8N2)].2H2O (l). The crystal structure displays ribbons of (1) in which the 4,4'-bipy ligands are all nearly parallel. The binuclear molecules associate through hydrogen bonding and weak Cu·· ··O interactions

1635-1638Hydrothermal reaction of cobalt(II) acetate with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato)(1,10-phenanthroline) has afforded aqua(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato)(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(II) dehydrate (1). X-ray structure determination shows that complex 1 crystallized in the triclinic space group P-1. A one-dimensional assembly has been formed by the intermolecular π-π interactions between the 1,10-phenanthroline units

2564-2568In crystalline 1-oxopyridinium-2-thioacetic acid 1, there is an infinite one dimensional network of hydrogen bonding involving the groups N–O, –SCH2–, –C=O, and aromatic C–H. The active methylene group of each layer forms H–bonding with the N–O of the adjacent layer
