Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on tuberculosis management in India: A Brief Overview
Chronicles suggests that emerging and re-emerging viral infections disrupting the normal lifestyle of humankind, whether in the form of HIV, Ebola, Influenza, Nepah, or the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Such viral infections disrupt the healthcare system along with the prevention and control of epidemics and pandemics, resulting in an increased burden of such diseases in the post-pandemic period. Tuberculosis (TB) routine services are interfered with by severe lockdowns due to the new COVID-19 virus. This article tried to measure the long-term epidemiological effects of such interruptions on TB prevalence in high-burden countries. The participating facilities performed a comprehensive review based on modifications to the care of TB patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Retrospectively, clinical factors and household contact information were collected from a literature survey. Researchers looked at numerous strategies over the following five years to see whether they might lessen the effects on TB incidence and death. Present comprehensive literature was collected and analyzed using suitable keywords such as "COVID-19," "Pandemics," "Tuberculosis," and "India" during the current COVID-19 pandemic to investigate the influence of COVID-19 on tuberculosis management. The present article looks at the effects of the breaks in the delivery of TB care in hospital and primary care settings. Lockdown, social isolation, measures to prevent viral transmission, and public health guidelines impacted tuberculosis care. The present study revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected numerous TB prevention, monitoring, and treatment programs. Still, these adverse effects are diminished by the prompt restoration of TB services and the application of particular therapies as soon as restrictions are lifted

Quantitative Electroencephalography for Probing Cognitive and Behavioral Functions of the Human Brain
Previous studies have shown that quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) provides measures of brain wave voltage and symmetry within each of the standard bandwidths. These qEEG measures are neurophysiological correlates of brain wave signatures for various aspects of cognition and behavior and are susceptible to neurofeedback training for improving human performance. Using exam scores and an individualized self-inventory (ISI) of psychosocial interactions, we provide unique data for probing behavioral and cognitive performance of medical students. Increments in voltage within the standard theta (4–7 Hz) and beta (15–20 Hz) frequencies and decrements in the theta–beta ratio (TBR) suggest improvements in attentional control. Associations between right-sided frontal alpha asymmetry (fAA) and ISI scores for negative self-perceptions suggest a novel qEEG signature for emotional balance. These findings suggest that changes in qEEG voltages and asymmetries may be predictive of improvements in attentional control, cognitive performance, and psychosocial skills, as well as serving as surrogate markers for neurofeedback training-related changes in neuroplasticity
Application of RSM for Bioremoval of Methylene Blue Dye from Industrial Wastewater onto Sustainable Walnut Shell (Juglans regia) Biomass
Dyes are a significant group of organic contaminants known to negatively affect both humans and aquatic environments. In the textile industry, interest in agricultural-based adsorbents has increased, particularly around adsorption. In this study, methylene blue was eliminated from an aqueous solution using a walnut (Juglans regia) shell. These materials are widely available and inexpensive, and its cost can be a major factor in wastewater treatment batch experiments. Response surface methodology (RSM) is based on a face-centred central composite design, used to identify the independent variable. With the use of RSM, the biomass of J. regia shells was assessed for its capacity to absorb dyes from aqueous solutions, including methylene blue. Maximum methylene blue dye removal percentages (97.70%) were obtained with a 30 mg/L concentration of methylene blue dye, 1.5 gm of biomass, an initial pH of 6, and a contact duration of 60 min at 25 °C. Additionally, particles were absorbed onto the J. regia shell’s surface throughout the biosorption process, according to scan electron microscopy. Functional groups were discovered in the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy spectra, which are crucial for binding during the biosorption of methylene blue. It has been demonstrated that J. regia shell biomass performs well as a biosorbent in the removal of methylene blue from wastewater effluents.
