    Life insurance is a form of protection to the insured or the person close to him for accidents that may befall him. In this way one time to ensure the risk of death or loss or reduction capability of doing business. Life insurance eliminates the risk of both adverse consequences. Although long forbidden, because the argument that it is immoral to draw benefit from the death or injury, today's contract of life insurance is generally accepted in all jurisdictions .Life insurance serves the expansion of social insurance. In developed countries through the private life and pension insurance shall be correction system of pension insurance based on the principle of intergenerational solidarity, as pension funds all the harder to bear the burden of a large number of retirees. This paper analyzes the contract of life insurance in the law of Montenegro.Osiguranje života predstavlja oblik zaštite osiguranika ili njemu bliskog lica za slučaj nesreće koja ga može zadesiti. Na ovaj način čovek se na vreme obezbeđuje od rizika smrti, odnosno gubitka ili smanjenja sprosobnosti privređivanja. Životno osiguranje otklanja štetne poslijedice oba rizika. Iako dugo zabranjivano, zbog objašnjenja da je nemoralno izvlačiti korist od smrti ili nezgode, danas je ugovor o životnom osiguranju opšte prihvaćen u svim pravnim sistemima. Životno osiguranje služi proširenju socijalnog osiguranja. U razvijenim društvima kroz privatno životno i penzijsko osiguranje vrši se korekcija sistema penzijskog osiguranja zasnovanog na načelu generacijske solidarnosti, pošto penzioni fondovi sve teže podnose opterećenje velikog broja penzionera

    Corporate governance in all companies, including insurance companies, includes the rules, regulations and institutions that regulate the way in which the governance and control of these companies is performed and implement them in practice. The basic requirement of development and implementation of corporate governance is the improvement of all of the economic indicators, primarily the long-term sustainable development in the interests of the owners and all other stakeholders, including policyholders, creditors, employees, government and the wider community. The aim of the paper is to analyse the application of corporate governance in the insurance in the world and in Serbia. Since there is no generally accepted framework for standardisation of corporate governance, as it differs depending on the specifics of each individual insurance company, the subject of the research in the paper is a general framework of corporate governance applicable to all insurance companies with necessary calibration to the level of individual companies. In the paper we first point out the importance of the application of corporate governance in the insurance and specifics of the legal framework of corporate governance in insurance companies in Serbia and then analyse the quality of corporate governance, reporting on the implementation of corporate governance and international principles

    Alternative sources of financing entrepreneurial undertakings in agriculture

    Insufficiency of internal financial resources and limited access to external sources of capital, as one of the key problems, local agricultural producers - entrepreneurs usualy describe with high cost of capital, complicated procedures, lack of transparency in regard to the settlement of credit requests and problems with security of loans. The aim of this study is to analyze the possibilities of facilitating access to increased volume of capital for domestic entrepreneurs in agriculture by using funding sources that are applied in developed economies for financing entrepreneurs. In order to achieve the stated aim, the subject of investigation in this paper is the analysis of alternative sources of financing, which use or increased adoption in Serbia would provide greater availability of capital for agricultural producers and others across the chain of agrobusiness complex and thus the promotion of entrepreneurial activity, and consequently, greater competitiveness and greater income of domestic agricultural producers and others across the chain of agrbusiness indirectly leading to increased economic growth and improvement of the welfare

    THE CONSUMPTION OF MINERAL FERTILIZERS AND WATER RESOURCES’ QUALITY IN THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

    Its goal is to point out to a significance of tracking the nitrate emission in agricultural production, by which makes bases for undertaking adequate measures of water protection and other natural resources from agriculture effect. This paper is focused on analysis of mineral, i.e. nitrogen fertilizers consumption, and their effect on the environment, i.e. surface waters. Data from the relevant institutions in the EU on consumption of mineral fertilizers and loading of waters by nitrates, which origin from agricultural production, were collected by desk research method. Data on consumption of mineral fertilizers in the Republic of Serbia for the period 1985-2001. year are taken from official statistics for selected years, while the display of water quality data is given for research by local authors. As a general conclusion imposes a fact that in our country have been spent significantly less amounts of mineral fertilizers in relation to the community of 27 countries, but there is still a profound adverse impact on the environment owing to inadequate laws implementation and lack of infrastructure in the field of ecology

    The aim of this study is to determine the main factors of development consulting services in Serbia. The verification was done by a procedure, by which have been achieved relevant scientific conclusions – by data research in the field, where had been respected factor analysis criteria, according to which had been possible adequate conclusions and generalization. Namely, taking into consideration the results of empirical research, it can be concluded the following: Three the most important factors of consulting services development are: education and awareness, developmental projects and affirmation of market business. In regard to actual consulting trends in the countries of our region, as well as a level of consulting development in the EU countries, the market of consulting services in Serbia has not developed significantly in last period. The owners and managers of enterprises still do not feel a need for external services, by which they would resolve business problems

    AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE UNDER THE SOLVENCY II DIRECTIVE

    Solvency II Directive represents a new framework of unique solvency regulation of insurance and reinsurance companies in the European Union. Although it has not yet been implemented in national legislations, it can be concluded, based on the directive wording and conducted quantitative studies, that it will have implications on agricultural producers since they are the users of insurance services. The aim of the research presented in this paper is to analyse the implications of the new directive to agricultural producers since they are the insureds and the main actors of agribusiness. Firstly, the paper gives an overview of the basic features of the new regulatory framework and then it points at the issues and the needs for intensive application of Directive in order to improve the insurance business in Serbia. The process will direct the settlement of major claims, the ones that are typical of catastrophic risks in agriculture, towards the insurance, while the expectations from the government will be directed towards the regulation of the setting and economic measures (development and investment subsidies, cooperative movement). In addition, the paper points at the demands of the new regulation and analyses the implications of the new regulation regarding the settlement of claims resulting from major flood since it represents the example that proves the basic postulate

    The aim of this paper is to point out to the important issues of investments in Serbia, with particular focus on the fact that investments can never be the objective but only the generator of economic growth, its pace, development structure and stability. With this in mind and depending on economic cycle and its phases, the connection between the amount and structure of investments and economic growth is studied as well as the investment behavior as part of global demand and spending in the function of total consumption. In the analysis of investments and their financing effects on economic growth of Serbia, relevant studies and articles were used, together with the reports and publications of competent institutions. The results of the analysis indicate the crisis of investments and their financing method in Serbia which has been accumulating for many years now, with an increasing foreign debt arising from predominantly external investment financing. The main conclusion is that for every economy, programming and monitoring of necessary investments, their economic, technical and regional structure as well as financing system is of strategic importance
