The occurrence of wounds in locomotor limbs of horses is seen quite frequently in horse breeding environments. These injuries, in addition to causing great damage to the health of the animals, also cause financial losses to their owners. Based on the high incidence of these injuries, several therapies have been developed and are constantly evolving for the treatment and healing of wounds. Among the existing therapies, laser therapy has been shown to be an efficient resource for the treatment of wounds and as an accelerating process for healing the animal. The objective of the present paper was to report a clinical case of laceration in a horse's limb submitted to laser therapy. A 19-year-old female horse was treated by the HorseLife team, presenting an open wound in the region below the hock, on the right hind limb. The wound was evaluated, prepared and then laser therapy was started. After 18 sessions, the wound presented with a visible decrease in the size of the initial lesion, with an anatomical structure of the intact skin and with regeneration of the attachments in progress. A subtle and minimal scar remained at the site of the injury, but without presenting any major damage to the animal's health. It was then possible to conclude that the use of low power laser therapy showed satisfactory results, considerably reducing the healing time, with an interesting final aesthetic result.

Equine gastric ulcer syndrome (SUGE) is a pathology with great incidence in the equine species. It causes damages to the health and animal welfare, generating a fall of athletic performance, causing, also, economic losses to the owners. It presents nonspecific clinical signs, which can generate erroneous interpretations, since the definitive diagnosis is only possible with the use of gastroscopy. With this, the objective was to report a clinical case of equine with SUGE, as well as the importance of gastroscopy for a correct diagnosis. A 4-kg, 6-year-old male horse was received at the HDM Horse Service with surgical referral from another veterinarian. After anamnesis and clinical examination, this indication was discarded and the clinical suspicion of SUGE was proposed. The diagnosis was confirmed by gastroscopy, in which it was possible to observe ulcerations in the gastric mucosa. The treatment was instituted with fluid therapy, flunixin meglumine for pain control, an oral omeprazole tube for 28 days and mucosal protectors such as sucralfate, a tube, orally for 15 days. The animal obtained a considerable improvement in the initial clinical picture, followed by total recovery and gradual return to its athletic activities. It can be concluded that gastroscopy played a fundamental role in clarifying the patient's clinical condition, presented an adequate and definitive diagnosis, and provided the correct treatment for a pathology.

Parasitic diseases occupy a prominent place among swine pathologies. The losses go from mortality, morbidity. The degree of contamination depends on the production system used, the way of handling and the hygiene conditions. In the municipality of Paraipaba in the state of Ceará, the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in pigs is unknown. Thus, this study aimed to analyze through coproparasitological exams the presence of gastrointestinal parasites in swine from a farm in the municipality of Paraipaba, in the state of Ceará. In a pig breeding in the municipality of Paraipaba, which keeps a total of 100 animals between breeders, breeders and piglets in the nursery, growth and finishing phases were collected directly from the rectal ampoule, made from the feces of 50 pigs of different ages, chosen randomly, to conduct research on protozoa and helminths through direct examination techniques, Willis technique, sedimentation and zinc fluctuation. In optical microscopy it was observed that of the 50 animals collected, 20% had oocysts of Cystoisospora sp. and 28% had Strongyloides sp. The high percentage of gastrointestinal parasites in swine raised in the municipality of Paraipaba warns of inadequate handling and hygiene conditions as these animals are reared, predisposing to infestation of gastrointestinal parasites in animals that cause damage to their health, as well as production and losses due to increase in the number of deaths.Parasitic diseases occupy a prominent place among swine pathologies.
