Recently, game-based learning has been increasingly popular in education to increase the colleges' student participation in learning activities, especially conducting tests. This study examined the college students' learning experiences by conducting a pretest and posttest through the Kahoot application. This study recruited four college students aged twenty to twenty-two to participate who were selected purposely to provide "information-rich" cases. Focus group discussions were conducted to obtain rich information to solve the research question and analyzed through four steps: analyzing interview data, writing memos, creating the final report, and organizing the structure. The findings highlight three themes to describe such as (1) the implementation of game-based learning, (2) Students' challenges using Kahoot, and (3) The positive students learning outcomes of using Kahoot. The implementation of Kahoot can create a more attractive, exciting, and quality test atmosphere because students answer questions purely within a limited time setting. This activity also encourages students to repeat the previous material to think faster in submitting answers to the Kahoot

The purpose of this study was to investigate the reading process of readers’ miscues in reading a text. Ken Goodman first coined the term to describe an observed response in the reading process that does not match the expected response (Goodman, 1973). The term "miscue," rather than "error" or "mistake" is used to avoid judgments. Good miscues do not change the meaning of the sentence or story and are called high-quality miscues. On the other hand, miscues that do not make sense are called low-quality miscues. Five Taiwanese undergraduate students were recruited to participate in this study. They were all from and demonstrated similar English competency. The participants were asked to read an unfamiliar and unpracticed text. This study used interview and retelling guide (including both un-added and added retelling) to collect data. Reading miscue analysis was employed to analyze Taiwanese students’ reading style and error patterns. The results found that all readers made more than 25 miscues in reading. All the readers made the miscues of dialect and insertion. Moreover, some readers made nonwords substitutions and repetitions miscues without affecting their understanding of the text.&nbsp

This study aims to determine teachers' pedagogical competence in increasing students' motivation to learn Bahasa Indonesia. To find this out, the approach used in this research is qualitative, a description method with observational research instruments or observations and interviews with students and teachers. The research participants were Bahasa Indonesia teachers and several SMA Negeri 3 Medan students. The study found that some teachers understand the characteristics of students because there are still teachers who generalize learning and need to understand student learning styles. The teachers in SMA Negeri 3 Medan have been able to design lesson plans (RPP) with innovative learning models. Not all teachers carry out learning according to the lesson plan (RPP) previously designed. In addition, some educators have yet to be able to assess or evaluate learning authentically. All teachers play a role in developing students so that they can actualize the potential of students
