Assessement of nuvan toxicity to lipids in snake headed fresh water fish Channa punctatus

Get PDF
The healthy functioning of the biosphere in our planet, the life depends entirely on the water flow and steady state phenomenon. Lethal concentration of Nuvan calculated for the fresh water snake headed fish Channa punctatus 0.27ml/L after 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. For the chronic study 1/10th Nuvan concentration (0.027ml/L) provided to observe fish. Blood serum cholesterol (Chol.) and triglycerides (TG) estimated after chronic toxic stress of Nuvan to fish Channa punctatus. Fish serum TG revealed significant decrease level while Cholesterol showed significant elevated level after 7, 14, 21, and 28days at different level p > 0.05, p <0.01 and p <0.001 in fresh water fish Channa punctatus

The field experiment was carried out at the Dusty Acres Farm, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh to study the effect of integrated nutrient management for growth and yield of Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal (Variety: Jawahar Ashwagandha-134). Tallest plants (49.35 cm) were observed at harvest stage, whereas higher number of branches per plant (5.78) of W. somnifera was observed at 90 DAS with T11, respectively. The mean number of leaves per plant (125.40) and LAI (10.345) of W. somnifera was higher at 90 DAS with T11. Mean CGR was maximum (2.536 g m-2 week-1) and mean RGR was highest (0.098 gg-1 day-1) of W. somnifera at 90 DAS and thereafter decline at 120 DAS and harvest stage with T11. Whereas, mean dry matter (1392.60 kg/ha) production of W. somnifera was higher at harvesting stage of crop with T11. Significantly higher mean root length (16.30 cm), root girth (2.26 cm) and mean dry root yield (612.8 kg/ha) of W. somnifera was recorded under T11 than the rest of treatments. Mean number of berries per plant (30.78) and mean number of seeds per berry (194.17) of W. somnifera were significantly higher under T11. Higher mean seed yield (62.6 kg/ha) and harvest index (43.61%) of W. somnifera was observed under T11 as compared to other treatments. Therefore, 100% recommended dose of NPK through fertilizers along with vermicompost (2.5 t/ha), FYM (5.0 t/ha) and ZnSO4 20kg/ha (T11) followed by 50% recommended dose of NPK through fertilizers along with vermicompost (2.5 t/ha), FYM (5.0 t/ha) and ZnSO4 20kg/ha (T14) and 100% recommended dose of NPK through fertilizers along with vermicompost (2.5 t/ha) and ZnSO4 20kg/ha (T10) were found to be better integrated nutrient management for the cultivation of W. somnifera

The systematic study of the influence of neutron excess on the fusion cross sections using different proximity-type potentials

Using different types of proximity potentials, we have examined the trend of variations of barrier characteristics (barrier height and its position) as well as fusion cross sections for 50 isotopic systems including various collisions of C, O, Mg, Si, S, Ca, Ar, Ti and Ni nuclei with 1≤N/Z<1.61\leq N/Z < 1.6 condition for compound systems. The results of our studies reveal that the relationships between increase of barrier positions and decrease of barrier heights are both linear with increase of N/ZN/Z ratio. Moreover, fusion cross sections also enhance linearly with increase of this ratio.Comment: 28 pages, 7 figures, 5 Table

Co-Incineration of Textile ETP Sludge in Captive Power House Boiler

Get PDF
The ETP Sludge generated by Raymond Textile Ltd. Boregaon District – Chhindwara India is Co-incinerated in the Captive Power House Boiler in irreversible and environmental sound manner without influencing emissions on partial replacement of traditial fuel. Co-incineration benefits upgrade waste management, reduce environmental impacts, improver the industrial sector’s competitiveness decreases largely the cost of waste management of ETP sludge. The analysis results of the stack parameters revealed that the emission values are well below the standards set by Central Pollution Control Board for the common Hazardous Waste Incinerations. The Captive Power House perforce requires high temperature in the boiler around 10000C. Such high temperature conditions ensure no noxious emission during the co-incineration of the waste materials.ÂÂ

Rapidity distribution as a probe for elliptical flow at intermediate energies

Interplay between the spectator and participant matter in heavy-ion collisions is investigated within isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model in term of rapidity distribution of light charged particles. The effect of different types and size rapidity distributions is studied in elliptical flow. The elliptical flow patterns show important role of the nearby spectator matter on the participant zone. This role is further explained on the basis of passing time of the spectator and expansion time of the participant zone. The transition from the in-plane to out-of-plane is observed only when the mid-rapidity region is included in the rapidity bin, otherwise no transition occurs. The transition energy is found to be highly sensitive towards the size of the rapidity bin, while weakly on the type of the rapidity distribution. The theoretical results are also compared with the experimental findings and are found in good agreement.Comment: 8 figure

On-farm diversity assessment and evaluation of finger millet genotypes in the mid-hills of Nepal

Get PDF
The objective of the study is to assess the phenotypic diversity among the finger millet genotypes and evaluate overall performance for the recommendation of genotypes to the farming community of mid hills of Nepal. The overall performance of 8 candidate genotypes selected from diversity block of 46 varieties in 2015, were assessed in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates under on-farm conditions in Lamjung district during 2016. Highly significant (p≤0.01) variability among the selected 8 genotypes for agro-morphological traits viz., plant height, number of fingers per head, grain yield, 1000 grain weight, straw yield, days to heading and maturity was revealed. Strong inter-correlation among grain yield, plant height, time to flowering and straw yield was detected. The traits viz., plant height, grain yield, straw yield, days to heading and days to maturity were the most important traits contributing to the overall variability and thus, provide options for selection
