Antideuteron production in proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions
The experimental data of the antideuteron production in proton-proton and
proton-nucleus collisions are analyzed within a simple model based on the
diagrammatic approach to the coalescence model. This model is shown to be able
to reproduce most of existing data without any additional parameter.Comment: To appear in Eur. Phys. J A (2002
Quantum reflection of antihydrogen from nanoporous media
We study quantum reflection of antihydrogen atoms from nanoporous media due
to the Casimir-Polder (CP) potential. Using a simple effective medium model, we
show a dramatic increase of the probability of quantum reflection of
antihydrogen atoms if the porosity of the medium increases. We discuss the
limiting case of reflections at small energies, which have interesting
applications for trapping and guiding antihydrogen using material walls
Quantum reflection of antihydrogen from Casimir potential above matter slabs
We study quantum reflection of antihydrogen atoms from matter slabs due to
the van der Waals/Casimir-Polder (vdW/CP) potential. By taking into account the
specificities of antihydrogen and the optical properties and width of the slabs
we calculate realistic estimates for the potential and quantum reflection
amplitudes. Next we discuss the paradoxical result of larger reflection
coefficients estimated for weaker potentials in terms of the Schwarzian
derivative. We analyze the limiting case of reflections at small energies,
which are characterized by a scattering length and have interesting
applications for trapping and guiding antihydrogen using material walls
Quantum reflection of antihydrogen from a liquid helium film
We study the quantum reflection of ultracold antihydrogen atoms bouncing on
the surface of a liquid helium film. The Casimir-Polder potential and quantum
reflection are calculated for different thicknesses of the film supported by
different substrates. Antihydrogen can be protected from anni- hilation for as
long as 1.3s on a bulk of liquid 4He, and 1.7s for liquid 3He. These large
lifetimes open interesting perspectives for spectroscopic measurements of the
free fall acceleration of antihydrogen. Variation of the scattering length with
the thickness of a film of helium shows interferences which we interpret
through a Liouville transformation of the quantum reflection problem

Naturally derived nano- and micro-drug delivery vehicles: halloysite, vaterite and nanocellulose
Recent advances in drug delivery and controlled release had a great impact on bioscience, medicine and tissue engineering. Consequently, a variety of advanced drug delivery vehicles either have already reached the market or are approaching the phase of commercial production. Progressive growth of the drug delivery market has led to the necessity to earnestly concern about economically viable, up-scalable and sustainable technologies for a large-scale production of drug delivery carriers. We have identified three attractive natural sources of drug carriers: aluminosilicate clays, minerals of calcium carbonate, and cellulose. Three classes of drug delivery carriers derived from these natural materials are halloysite nanotubes, vaterite crystals and nanocellulose. These carriers can be produced using âgreenâ technologies from some of the most abundant sources on the Earth and have extremely high potential to meet all criteria applied for the manufacture of modern delivery carriers. We provide an up-to-date snapshot of these drug delivery vehicles towards their use for bioapplications, in particular for drug delivery and tissue engineering. The following research topics are addressed: (i) the availability, sources and methodologies used for production of these drug delivery vehicles, (ii) the drug loading and release mechanisms of these delivery vehicles, (iii) in vitro, in vivo, and clinical studies on these vehicles, and (iv) employment of these vehicles for tissue engineering. Finally, the prospects for vehiclesâ further development and industrialisation are critically assessed, highlighting most attractive future research directions such as the design of third generation active biomaterials
Advertising the legal services as a moral problem of advocacy
In the context of the contradictory tendencies of contemporary development of advocacy, the quality of the marketing offers to legal business is critically assessed, and the problem of solidity of legal services advertising is analyzed. Exclusive feature of legal services in a moral aspect is noted, and a characteristic of compatibility of the noncommercial nature of advocacy with advertising of legal services is given. As one of the most acute problem tendencies of modern advocacy, imposes its imprint on the permissibility of advertising of legal services, the absence of correlation between the results of the legal services and advocates ' fees is discussed. Based on the contradictions between the monopolistic position of the Bar in the market for the provision of professional legal assistance, and pluralistic nature of market relations, assess of the prospects and risks of advocacy, in the context of its coming monopolization in Russia, has been given. Taking into account the practice of unfair treatment of advocates to their duties in providing professional legal assistance, attention is focused on the problem of imitation of advocacy. In order to counteract imitation of advocacy, measures of ensuring the moral viability of advertising legal services, are proposes. Practical importance of norms of professional morality for the solution of the question of responsibility for the negative consequences of abuse of legal services advertising is shown
Problems of the implementation of energy-saving technologies in heat supply
The article discusses a number of problems associated with the introduction of energy saving technologies in heat supply organizations. It characterizes the current state of the legal framework in the field of the energy saving in heat supply; observed trends in the implementation of energy efficiency programs in the district heating companies; a program of energy conservation and energy efficiency of Russia until 2020 was analyzed. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of a number of heat suppliers, authors reveal the typical problems of the introduction of energy saving technologies
