Thermal and luminescent properties of M2Zn(VO3) 4 (M = Rb, Cs)
We have developed processes for the synthesis of the Rb 2Zn(VO3)4 and Cs2Zn(VO 3)4 tetrametavanadates. Rb2Zn(VO 3)4 has been prepared by solid-state reaction (350 C) between presynthesized RbVO3 and ZnV2O6 powders, and Cs2Zn(VO3)4 has been prepared by the Pechini method (sol-gel process). Both metavanadates crystallize in monoclinic symmetry (sp. gr. P21/m). Thermochemical characterization results demonstrate that the vanadates undergo complex transformations during heating to 450 C and subsequent cooling. As a result, the materials are in a nonequilibrium state at room temperature and consist of both the parent double metavanadates and their peritectic decomposition products. We believe that the formation of the structure of the M2Zn(VO3)4 compounds from their melts is a kinetically hindered process. These compounds are structurally stable only at temperatures below 369 (Rb2Zn(VO 3)4) or 420 C (Cs2Zn(VO3) 4). We have measured for the first time the diffuse reflectance and photoluminescence excitation spectra of the two tetrametavanadates in their emission range and their photoluminescence spectra at various excitation wavelengths and determined their chromaticity coordinates. Their X-ray luminescence and scintillation decay characteristics have been determined for the first time under pulsed electron beam excitation. The electron excitation dissipation processes in the cesium and rubidium compounds are shown to be similar. Extraction and Serological Properties of Mycobacterium Cell Surface and Excreted Proteins
Β© 2017, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature. Modern medicine still faces the task of distinguishing active and latent tuberculosis cases at the early stage of the disease. Serological approaches have their advantages for their use in diagnostics. However, the progress of these approaches is ongoing but further progress is needed to meet the needs for this disease. Here, we extracted Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv proteins from culture medium or from the cell surface and studied their reactivity with anti-M. tuberculosis serum in both ELISA and immunoblots. We found that M. tuberculosis surface proteins, extracted using dimethyl sulfoxide, with molecular weights in the range of 6.5β200Β kDa, showed strong specific reactivity with anti-M. tuberculosis positive serum. While excreted proteins in the molecular weight range of 32β45Β kDa had the highest reactivity. The latter was confirmed serologically when very weak signal was detected from the filtrate fractions compared to stronger activity from the Vivaspin 50Β kDa MWCO retentates. Moreover, Mycobacterium bovis and tuberculosis proteins from the filter retentates had clear specific serum reactivity, which suggests that this approach can be used for differential diagnosis of two infections
Modern pharmacotherapy of chronic periodontitis (literature review)
The purpose of the present study was to review the literature on the efficiency and safety of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory dugs (NSAIDs). The pathogenic mechanisms of action of NSAIDs and both isoforms of cyclooxygenase role in physiological and pathological conditions are considered in the article. Special attention is paid to the unwanted effects of NSAIDs. Clinical efficiency of meloxicam in patients with exacerbation of chronic periodontitis
The purpose of the present study was to assess the clinical efficiency of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug meloxicam in patients with exacerbation of chronic periodontitis. 80 patients with chronic periodontitis were separated into 3 groups. Patients of the first group served as a control and received traditional periodontal therapy. Patients of the second and the third groups were administered adjunctive meloxicam 7.5 mg orally for 7 and 14 days, respectively, after initial periodontal treatment. Periodontal tissues condition was evaluated using indexes: OHI-S, PI and PMA. Modem pharmacotherapy of chronic periodontitis (literature review)
The purpose of the present study was to review the literature on the modern principles of pharmacotherapy of chronic periodontitis. Due to multifactorial nature of the disease, the treatment of it is complex and involves administration of different groups of medicines (antimicrobal, anti-inflammatory, osteotropic, immunomodulating and antioxidant drugs). The basis of pathogenic therapy of periodontitis are anti-inflammatory drugs, and the key role among them belongs to NSAIDs. Changes in the urban population in the republic of the volga federal district of Russia
Β© Medwell Journals, 2016.The study considers the the dynamics of the urban population in the republics of the Volga Federal District (VFD) Russia: Bashkortostan, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia from 1990-2013. The main factors affecting to the changing in the urban population in these republics: decline in industrial production; internal and external migration; deterioration of the socio-economic conditions of the population, especially in small cities and towns associated with unemployment; aggravation of environmental problems in large cities and others. Of the 6 republics of the VFD the positive dynamics of the urban population is observed only in the Republic of Tatarstan to 197 thous. people from 1990-2012. And in the other republics of VFD there are negative indicators of the dynamics of the urban population
