Determination of Filtration Properties of a Deformable Porous-Fractured Bed from the Results of Hydrodynamic Investigations of Horizontal Wells

    Get PDF
© 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York. A computational algorithm has been proposed for interpretation of results of hydrodynamic investigations of horizontal wells in unsteady regimes of filtration in deformable porous-fractured beds. The proposed approach makes it possible to evaluate the dependence of the permeability coefficient of fractures on pressure. A study has been made of the dynamics of change in the bottom-hole pressure after bringing a horizontal well into production and shutting it down in the nonlinear elastic regime of filtration of the fluid in a porous-fractured bed

    Hydrodynamic studies of horizontal wells

A new technology is suggested for performance of hydrodynamic studies in horizontal wells using comprehensive off-line instrumentation. The interpretation procedure for the outcome of such studies has been developed based on the regularizalion methods

Thermohydrodynamic investigations of vertical wells operating in multilayer reservoirs

    Get PDF
A mathematical model is constructed to describe the thermohydrodynamic processes in "vertical well - multilayer reservoir" system. A new approach to estimate the filtration parameters and flow rates of interlayers is proposed. The curves of the bottomhole temperature variations taken after the bringing the vertical well into production are used as the source data

Surgical treatment of thromboembolia in the heart right atrium in pregnant women

    Get PDF
Two clinical cases of surgical treatment of cardiac right-chamber thromboembolism in pregnant women are described. Thromboembolism was diagnosed during a routine examination. In the first clinical case, considering the late pregnancy, a thromboembolectomy was performed under artificial circulation after surgical delivery. In the second case, thrombus removal from the right atrium was performed on a working heart, without interruption of pregnancy. The surgical and postsurgical period proceeded without any specific features and the patients were discharged from the hospital without any complications. These clinical cases show that it is possible to remove thrombus from the right heart chambers without the use of extracorporeal circulation, which is also safe for the mother and the fetus

    Synthesis of functionally substituted benzaldehydes

    Get PDF
© 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. A new method of synthesis of functionally substituted benzaldehydes by catalytic debromometoxylation of dibromomethylarenes with benzaldehyde dimethyl acetal has been suggested. Anhydrous zinc chloride has been used as a catalyst. Being soft Lewis acid, it formed no strong complex with aldehyde group and other functional groups. The initial acetal has been readily recovered by the treatment of benzaldehyde isolated from the reaction mixture with trimethyl orthoformate

Parameters of single and summated contractions of skeletal muscles in vivo and in vitro

    Get PDF
It is well known that modern non-invasive methods for registration of functional activity of skeletal muscles in vivo due to technical reasons reflect amplitude and temporal parameters of muscle contractions not better than in vitro approaches The aim of present study is to register and compare parameters of single and tetanic contractions of different types of skeletal muscles of warm-blooded animals in vitro and under minimally invasive surgery in vivo. It was found that single muscle contractions in vitro and in vivo indistinguishably close to each other, whereas frequency of tetanus fusion and waveform of tetanic contractions are different

Syphilis epidemiology in 1994–2013, molecular epidemiological strain typing and determination of macrolide resistance in Treponema pallidum in 2013–2014 in Tuva Republic, Russia

© 2016 APMIS. Published by John Wiley & Sons LtdThe incidence of syphilis in the Tuva Republic (geographical centre of Asia), Russia has been exceedingly high historically. No detailed examinations and no molecular investigations of Treponema pallidum strains transmitted in the Tuva Republic, or in general, in Russia, were published internationally. We examined the syphilis epidemiology in 1994–2013, and the molecular epidemiology and macrolide resistance in T. pallidum strains in 2013–2014 in the Tuva Republic. Among 95 mainly primary or secondary syphilis patients, the arp, tpr, tp0548 and 23S rRNA genes in 85 polA gene-positive genital ulcer specimens were characterized. The syphilis incidence in Tuva Republic peaked in 1998 (1562), however declined to 177 in 2013. Among the 70 (82%) completely genotyped specimens, six molecular strain types were found. Strain type 14d/f accounted for 91%, but also 14c/f, 14d/g, 14b/f, 14i/f, 9d/f, and 4d/f were identified. Two (2.4%) specimens contained the 23S rRNA A2058G macrolide resistance mutation. This is the first internationally published typing study regarding T. pallidum in Russia, performed in the Tuva Republic with the highest syphilis incidence in Russia. The two molecular strain types 4d/f and 9d/f have previously been described only in Eastern and Northern China and for the first time, macrolide-resistant syphilis was described in Russia

Endophytic Bacillus bacteria with RNase activity in the resistance of potato plants to viruses

    Get PDF
Viral diseases annually cause significant crop losses and significantly reduce the quality of products, including potatoes, some of the most important crops. Currently, viruses cannot be controlled with chemical pesticides, since known antiviral compounds are teratogenic and hazardous to people’s health. Biocontrol agents based on endophytic microorganisms may be an alternative to them. Many strains of Bacillus produce ribonucleases (RNases). Our laboratory possesses a collection of bacteria that produce various metabolites and have RNase activity. The results showed that the inoculation of potato with B. subtilis 26D and B. thuringiensis increased the grain yield by 32–43 %. In addition, the treatment of potato plants with Bacillus spp. significantly reduced the infection of potato plants with virus M. The prevalence of the disease in potato plants was significantly reduced from 60 % in the control to 18 % (B. subtillis 26D) and 25–33 % (B. thuringiensis) in the inoculated plants. Similarly, the infection index decreased from 14 in the control to 1 in the inoculated plants. The further study of molecular mechanisms related to bacterial induction of plant defense reactions in response to viral infections will lead to a better understanding of stress resistance problems. The endophytic microorganisms studied in this report may become the basis for the creation of biological agents for plant protection

Pneumatic device of the preload and dynamic loads balancing to reduce the intensity of thermal processes in the metal cutting process

    Get PDF
Improved reliability of the technological system "machine-tool-instrument-detail" is an important current task. Backlashes and insufficient stiffness of technological system lead to intensive wear of the cutting tool, increasing the heat in the cutting zone. Due to high temperature in the thin surface layers of the workpiece and tool thermal processes may occur which are similar to release and can cause the structural changes of the material. The current article presents the final design of the device which has been developed to reduce the intensity of thermal processes in metal cutting
