The aim of the paper is the theoretical investigation of vibration of the cars's steering components by the help of a mathematical concept. Having created the mechanical model of the frequently used front-wheel-drive system, the authors present it equivalent mathematical model tao. Based on many calculated examples, it has been proved that the vibration of the steering components can be minimized by constructional changes

The aim of this study was to characterize a large series of 154 patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL; median age, 53 years; range, 18-90 years) and evaluate real-life outcome after up-front treatment with arsenic trioxide (ATO) and alltrans retinoic acid (ATRA). All patients were included in the prospective NAPOLEON registry (NCT02192619) between 2013 and 2019. APL was de novo in 91% (n=140) and therapy-related in 9% (n=14); 13% (n=20) were older than 70 years. At diagnosis bleeding/hemorrhage was present in 38% and thrombosis in 3%. Complete remission was achieved in 152 patients (99%), whereas two patients (1%) experienced induction death within 18 days after start of therapy. With a median follow-up of 1.99 years (95%-CI, 1.61-2.30 years) 1-year and 2-years overall survival (OS) rates were 97% (95%-CI, 94-100%) and 95% (95%-CI, 91-99%), respectively. Age above 70 years was associated with a significantly shorter OS (P<0.001) as compared to younger patients. So far no relapses were observed. Six patients (4%) died in CR after in median 0.95 years after diagnosis (range, 0.18-2.38 years). Our data confirm the efficiency and durability of ATO/ATRA in the primary management of adult low-/ intermediate-risk APL patients in the real life setting, irrespective of age

Tire measurements, forces and moments. Workpackage 2: analysis of parameters influencing tyre test results

In February 1996 the EC started the TIME Project (TIre MEasurements). The projects aim is the development of a common test procedure that will be reliable and consistent with realistic driving conditions. The facts which lead to this activity are, on the one hand, the deviations between the force and moment properties of a tyre measured on different test benches, on the other hand the non-conformity of test bench results with vehicle tests on the road. The reasons are found in the large difference in test equipments and measurement procedures. For example, the curvature of the track or the preconditioning influence the tyre characteristics such as cornering stiffness. The TIME Project is divided into 5 workpackages. First, the difference between results obtained with the main European tyre test devices were investigated. In a second part a parameter sensitivity study followed in order to explain the difference between the results obtained with the different devices. In Workpackage 3 the force and moment properties of different types of tyres were determined for three different passenger cars under realistic driving conditions in order to establish a set of reference measurements. These reference measurements were used in Workpackage 4 to fix a new tyre measurement procedure. It will be developed further and validated in Workpackage 5 by measurements with all the different tyre test devices used at the beginning of the project. Results obtained with the new test procedure will be used in vehicle dynamic simulation models in order to judge the procedure's validity and usefulness. This report shows some results of Woikpackage 2 coordinated by the University of Karlsruhe. The influence of track surface, ambient and tread temperature on tyre characteristics such as cornering stiffness or maximum values are handled. Furthermore an estimation of the deviations is given when varying these parameters
