Synchronous Relaying Of Sensor Data
In this paper we have put forth a novel methodology to relay data obtained by
inbuilt sensors of smart phones in real time to remote database followed by
fetching of this data . Smart phones are becoming very common and they are
laced with a number of sensors that can not only be used in native applications
but can also be sent to external nodes to be used by third parties for
application and service development
Axion Mass Bound in Very Special Relativity
In this paper we propose a very special relativity (VSR)-inspired description
of the axion electrodynamics. This proposal is based upon the construction of a
proper study of the SIM--VSR gauge-symmetry. It is shown that the VSR
nonlocal effects give a health departure from the usual axion field theory. The
axionic classical dynamics is analysed in full detail, first by a discussion of
its solution in the presence of an external magnetic field. Next, we compute
photon-axion transition in VSR scenario by means of Primakoff interaction,
showing the change of a linearly polarized light to a circular one. Afterwards,
duality symmetry is discussed in the VSR framework.Comment: 16 pages; to appear in PL
Field dependent nilpotent symmetry for gauge theories
We construct the field dependent mixed BRST (combination of BRST and
anti-BRST) transformations for pure gauge theories. These are shown to be an
exact nilpotent symmetry of both the effective action as well as the generating
functional for certain choices of the field dependent parameters. We show that
the Jacobian contributions for path integral measure in the definition of
generating functional arising from BRST and anti-BRST part compensate each
other. The field dependent mixed BRST transformations are also considered in
field/antifield formulation to show that the solutions of quantum master
equation remain invariant under these. Our results are supported by several
explicit examples.Comment: 25 pages, No figures, Revte
Relating Gribov-Zwanziger theory to effective Yang-Mills theory
We consider the Gribov-Zwanziger (GZ) theory with appropriate horizon term
which exhibits the nilpotent BRST invariance. This infinitesimal BRST
transformation has been generalized by allowing the parameter to be finite and
field dependent (FFBRST). By constructing appropriate finite field dependent
parameter we show that the generating functional of GZ theory with horizon term
is related to that of Yang-Mills (YM) theory through FFBRST transformation.Comment: 14 pages, No figure, to appear in Europhysics Lette
Does abortion reduce self-esteem and life satisfaction?
PurposeThis study aims to assess the effects of obtaining an abortion versus being denied an abortion on self-esteem and life satisfaction.MethodsWe present the first 2.5 years of a 5-year longitudinal telephone-interview study that follows 956 women who sought an abortion from 30 facilities across the USA. We examine the self-esteem and life satisfaction trajectories of women who sought and received abortions just under the facility's gestational age limit, of women who sought and received abortions in their first trimester of pregnancy, and of women who sought abortions just beyond the facility gestational limit and were denied an abortion. We use adjusted mixed effects linear regression analyses to assess whether the trajectories of women who sought and obtained an abortion differ from those who were denied one.ResultsWomen denied an abortion initially reported lower self-esteem and life satisfaction than women who sought and obtained an abortion. For all study groups, except those who obtained first trimester abortions, self-esteem and life satisfaction improved over time. The initially lower levels of self-esteem and life satisfaction among women denied an abortion improved more rapidly reaching similar levels as those obtaining abortions at 6 months to one year after abortion seeking. For women obtaining first trimester abortions, initially higher levels of life satisfaction remained steady over time.ConclusionsThere is no evidence that abortion harms women's self-esteem or life satisfaction in the short term
