    Dualities in tree representations

    A characterization of the tree T∗ such that BP(T∗) = ↔ DFUDS(T), the reversal of DFUDS(T) is given. An immediate consequence is a rigorous characterization of the tree T such that BP( T^) = DFUDS(T^). In summary, BP and DFUDS are unified within an encompassing framework, which might have the potential to imply future simplifications with regard to queries in BP and/or DFUDS. Immediate benefits displayed here are to identify so far unnoted commonalities in most recent work on the Range Minimum Query problem, and to provide improvements for the Minimum Length Interval Query problem

    Biferroic YCrO3

    YCrO3 which has a monoclinic structure, shows weak ferromagnetism below 140 K (TN) and a ferroelectric transition at 473 K accompanied by hysteresis. We have determined the structure and energetics of YCrO3 with ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic ordering by means of first-principles density functional theory calculations, based on pseudopotentials and a plane wave basis. The non-centrosymmetric monoclinic structure is found to be lower in energy than the orthorhombic structure, supporting the biferroic nature of YCrO3.Comment: 16 pages including figure

    Organizational Cynicism and Counterproductive Work Behaviors: An Empirical Study

    The aim of this study was to test the relationship between the organizational cynicism (OC) of the employees and the Counterproductive Work Behaviors (CWB) exhibited by employees at work. This study was conducted on a stratified random sample consisting of (327) employees of Asyut University in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The data collected by the questionnaire prepared based on the organizational cynicism scale of Brandes, et al (1999) and the counterproductive work behaviors (CWB) scale of Fox (2001).The study found that the organizational cynicism (OC) was positively correlated with the Counterproductive Work Behaviors (CWB), where the significant correlation of the Behavioral dimension was followed by Affective dimension. However, the third dimension of organizational cynicism (belief dimension) has no relationship with the counterproductive behaviors at work. Based on these findings, the study reached some concluding remarks concerning organizational cynicism and counterproductive behaviors.     This work deals with the study of aquatic plant Eurasian watermilfoil, Myriophyllum spicatum L. new record to Kurdistan, It is submersed aquatic weed that can easily become excessive in growth and maybe a completely choked small shallow pond. The ecological habitats, distribution, growth characteristic, species description, taxonomical status, economically important and other information, including their control in the aquatic ecosystem, are given in the text. In Kurdistan this plant found in several small and shallow ponds, at the edge of the Greater Zab River behind Kapran village near Gwer sub-district, this area is free from ecological and biological studies.  Ecologically the waters are natural, hard, alkaline, rich in nutrients and Cl-1 ions. And contain a certain amount of heavy metal such as (Mg+², Zn+², Cu+², Fe+², Cr+², Cd) but lead (Pb) was not detected

    Peptidylarginine Deiminase Isozyme-Specific PAD2, PAD3 and PAD4 Inhibitors Differentially Modulate Extracellular Vesicle Signatures and Cell Invasion in Two Glioblastoma Multiforme Cell Lines

    Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive adult brain tumour with poor prognosis. Roles for peptidylarginine deiminases (PADs) in GBM have recently been highlighted. Here, two GBM cell lines were treated with PAD2, PAD3 and PAD4 isozyme-specific inhibitors. Effects were assessed on extracellular vesicle (EV) signatures, including EV-microRNA cargo (miR21, miR126 and miR210), and on changes in cellular protein expression relevant for mitochondrial housekeeping (prohibitin (PHB)) and cancer progression (stromal interaction molecule 1 (STIM-1) and moesin), as well as assessing cell invasion. Overall, GBM cell-line specific differences for the three PAD isozyme-specific inhibitors were observed on modulation of EV-signatures, PHB, STIM-1 and moesin protein levels, as well as on cell invasion. The PAD3 inhibitor was most effective in modulating EVs to anti-oncogenic signatures (reduced miR21 and miR210, and elevated miR126), to reduce cell invasion and to modulate protein expression of pro-GBM proteins in LN229 cells, while the PAD2 and PAD4 inhibitors were more effective in LN18 cells. Furthermore, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways for deiminated proteins relating to cancer, metabolism and inflammation differed between the two GBM cell lines. Our findings highlight roles for the different PAD isozymes in the heterogeneity of GBM tumours and the potential for tailored PAD-isozyme specific treatment
