Die vorliegende Dokumentation ist Teil eines Bildungsmonitorings, das im Rahmen des an der Universität zu Köln durchgeführten Projekts „Zukunftsstrategie Lehrer*innenbildung Köln – Heterogenität und Inklusion gestalten“ (ZuS) im Teilprojekt Qualitätssicherung (QS) während des Sommersemesters 2016 durchgeführt wurde. Das Bildungsmonitoring soll auf einer Makroebene Einblick geben in Prozesse des Kompetenzerwerbs während des Lehramtsstudiums und dazu beitragen, Merkmale der Ausbildung zu erkennen, die dabei von Bedeutung sind. Drei wesentliche Maßnahmen werden im Bildungsmonitoring ergriffen: Die Erfassung der Kompetenzentwicklung von Lehramtsstudierenden, die angebotenen und genutzten Lerngelegenheiten als Bedingungen der Kompetenzentwicklung und die Prüfung des Einflusses der Lerngelegenheiten auf die Kompetenzentwicklung. Verwendet wird ein Mehr-Kohorten-Längsschnitt-Design. Primäre Zielgruppe sind Bachelor- und Masterstudierende, die sich im Sommersemester 2016 im zweiten Fachsemester befanden. Geplant ist, diese beiden Kohorten über die kommenden zwei Jahren (2017, 2018) wissenschaftlich zu begleiten, um während der Projektlaufzeit ein umfassendes Bild über den Kompetenzerwerb während der gesamten Lehramtsausbildung an der Universität zu Köln zu erhalten. Die hier abgebildete Skalendokumentation umfasst den allgemeinen Teil des Bildungsmonitorings 2016. Sie informiert über die verwendeten Variablen, Items und Skalen, die bei der Befragung der Studierenden eingesetzt wurden. Zusätzlich werden technische Variablen berichtet, die bei der Datenerhebung und -aufbereitung relevant waren

Probing Crystallinity and Grain Structure of 2D Materials and 2D-Like Van der Waals Heterostructures by Low-Voltage Electron Diffraction

4D scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM) is a powerful method for characterizing electron-transparent samples with down to sub-Ångstrom spatial resolution. 4D-STEM can reveal local crystallinity, orientation, grain size, strain, and many more sample properties by rastering a convergent electron beam over a sample area and acquiring a transmission diffraction pattern (DP) at each scan position. These patterns are rich in information about the atomic structure of the probed volume, making this technique a potent tool to characterize even inhomogeneous samples. 4D-STEM can also be used in scanning electron microscopes (SEMs) by placing an electron-sensitive camera below the sample. 4D-STEM-in-SEMs is ideally suited to characterize 2D materials and 2D-like van der Waals heterostructures (vdWH) due to their inherent thickness of a few nanometers. The lower accelerating voltage of SEMs leads to strong scattering even from monolayers. The large field of view and down to sub-nm spatial resolution of SEMs are ideal to map properties of the different constituents of 2D-like vdWH by probing their combined sample volume. A unique 4D-STEM-in-SEM system is applied to reveal the single crystallinity of MoS2 exfoliated with gold-mediation as well as the crystal orientation and coverage of both components of a C60/MoS2 vdWH are determined

Morphogrammata / The lettered Art of Optatian. Figuring Cultural Transformations in the Age of Constantine

This volume explores one of the most complex, multifaceted and momentous of all western cultural transformations: the refashioning of the Roman principate under the emperor Constantine in the early fourth century AD. It does so through the kaleidoscopic lens of one of antiquity’s most fascinating (and maligned) artists, Publilius Optatianus Porfyrius. Optatian’s experiments with word and image are little known among classicists. But, as contributors to this volume argue, his ‘morphogrammatic’ creations uniquely reflect, figure and shape the cultural dynamics of the fourth century. This is the first edited book dedicated to Optatian’s picture-poems and their various historical contexts. By bringing together different disciplinary perspectives (including ancient history, classical philology, art history, theology, philosophy and media studies), the volume demonstrates how Optatian gave form to the various political, intellectual and cultural currents of his age. At the same time, contributors champion Optatian as a uniquely creative artist – and one who anticipated some of our most pressing literary critical, art historical and philosophical concerns today
