Getting to the Heart of the Matter Evaluation Report: Post-Acute Cardiac Rehabilitation Program to Reduce Hospital Readmissions

    Get PDF
Launched in 2013, this innovative program was designed to help cardiac patients achieve success with their post-acute treatment regime, something that is especially important for older cardiac patients who are at an increased risk for complications. By "bridging the gap" between when patients are discharged from acute care until they are ready to start outpatient cardiac rehabilitation, the program aims to improve the quality of care and quality of life for older adults recovering from congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, bypass surgery, and other heart diseases and reduce hospital readmissions

    New perspectives on research

The Graduate Research Session at the conference will be held on Thursday March 1st from 4-5pm. At this session, graduate students from institutions from across the state will present a series of lightning talks where each presenter will briefly share the purpose and findings of their research study, and share a few implications for music education practice. The graduate student panel will be seated in a circle in order to facilitate sharing. Non-presenting attendees will be seated in an outer circle which will then be integrated with the presenters during the Q&A portion of the session, in order promote the free-sharing of ideas between all in ttendance. In order to highlight a few examples of the exciting projects being presented, Yank’l Garcia and Nicholas Quigley, master’s students at Boston University, briefly introduce their research projects below. Please join us to learn about the fresh and exciting topics that graduate student researchers are focusing upon within the field of music education.First author draf

    tmf\mathit{tmf}-based Mahowald invariants

The 22-primary homotopy β\beta-family, defined as the collection of Mahowald invariants of Mahowald invariants of 2i2^i, i≥1i \geq 1, is an infinite collection of periodic elements in the stable homotopy groups of spheres. In this paper, we calculate tmf\mathit{tmf}-based approximations to this family. Our calculations combine an analysis of the Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence for the Tate construction of tmf\mathit{tmf} with trivial C2C_2-action and Behrens' filtered Mahowald invariant machinery.Comment: 52 pages, 41 figures.
