Attention-Based Models for Text-Dependent Speaker Verification
Attention-based models have recently shown great performance on a range of
tasks, such as speech recognition, machine translation, and image captioning
due to their ability to summarize relevant information that expands through the
entire length of an input sequence. In this paper, we analyze the usage of
attention mechanisms to the problem of sequence summarization in our end-to-end
text-dependent speaker recognition system. We explore different topologies and
their variants of the attention layer, and compare different pooling methods on
the attention weights. Ultimately, we show that attention-based models can
improves the Equal Error Rate (EER) of our speaker verification system by
relatively 14% compared to our non-attention LSTM baseline model.Comment: Submitted to ICASSP 201
Space shuttle: Supersonic aerodynamic characteristics of the MSC 040A orbiter (M equals 2.0 to 4.0)
A wind tunnel test of the space shuttle orbiter configuration 040A was run in a 20 in. supersonic wind tunnel. Basic aerodynamic data for this vehicle were determined at Mach 2.0, 2.4, 3.0 and 4.0
Experimental detection of quantum coherent evolution through the violation of Leggett-Garg-type inequalities
We discuss the use of inequalities of the Leggett-Garg type (LGtI) to witness
quantum coherence and present the first experimental violation of this type of
inequalities using a light-matter interfaced system. By separately benchmarking
the Markovian character of the evolution and the translational invariance of
the conditional probabilities, the observed violation of a LGtI is attributed
to the quantum coherent character of the process. These results provide a
general method to benchmark `quantumness' when the absence of memory effects
can be independently certified and confirm the persistence of quantum coherent
features within systems of increasing complexity.Comment: published version, including supplementary materia
Calculated Momentum Dependence of Zhang-Rice States in Transition Metal Oxides
Using a combination of local density functional theory and cluster exact
diagonalization based dynamical mean field theory, we calculate many body
electronic structures of several Mott insulating oxides including undoped high
T_{c} materials. The dispersions of the lowest occupied electronic states are
associated with the Zhang-Rice singlets in cuprates and with doublets,
triplets, quadruplets and quintets in more general cases. Our results agree
with angle resolved photoemission experiments including the decrease of the
spectral weight of the Zhang--Rice band as it approaches k=0
Non-minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs theory: Associated, color and color-acoustic metrics for the Wu-Yang monopole model
We discuss a non-minimal Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs model with uniaxial
anisotropy in the group space associated with the Higgs field. We apply this
theory to the problem of propagation of color and color-acoustic waves in the
gravitational background related to the non-minimal regular Wu-Yang monopole.Comment: 14 pages, no figure
Semiquantum key distribution using entangled states
Recently, Boyer et al. presented a novel semiquantum key distribution
protocol [M. Boyer, D. Kenigsberg, and T. Mor, Phys. Rev. Lett. 99, 140501
(2007)], by using four quantum states, each of which is randomly prepared by Z
basis or X basis. Here we present a semiquantum key distribution protocol by
using entangled states in which quantum Alice shares a secret key with
classical Bob. We also show the protocol is secure against eavesdropping.Comment: 6 page
Sensitive Chemical Compass Assisted by Quantum Criticality
The radical-pair-based chemical reaction could be used by birds for the
navigation via the geomagnetic direction. An inherent physical mechanism is
that the quantum coherent transition from a singlet state to triplet states of
the radical pair could response to the weak magnetic field and be sensitive to
the direction of such a field and then results in different photopigments in
the avian eyes to be sensed. Here, we propose a quantum bionic setup for the
ultra-sensitive probe of a weak magnetic field based on the quantum phase
transition of the environments of the two electrons in the radical pair. We
prove that the yield of the chemical products via the recombination from the
singlet state is determined by the Loschmidt echo of the environments with
interacting nuclear spins. Thus quantum criticality of environments could
enhance the sensitivity of the detection of the weak magnetic field.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
