Prediction-error of Prediction Error (PPE)-based Reversible Data Hiding
This paper presents a novel reversible data hiding (RDH) algorithm for
gray-scaled images, in which the prediction-error of prediction error (PPE) of
a pixel is used to carry the secret data. In the proposed method, the pixels to
be embedded are firstly predicted with their neighboring pixels to obtain the
corresponding prediction errors (PEs). Then, by exploiting the PEs of the
neighboring pixels, the prediction of the PEs of the pixels can be determined.
And, a sorting technique based on the local complexity of a pixel is used to
collect the PPEs to generate an ordered PPE sequence so that, smaller PPEs will
be processed first for data embedding. By reversibly shifting the PPE histogram
(PPEH) with optimized parameters, the pixels corresponding to the altered PPEH
bins can be finally modified to carry the secret data. Experimental results
have implied that the proposed method can benefit from the prediction procedure
of the PEs, sorting technique as well as parameters selection, and therefore
outperform some state-of-the-art works in terms of payload-distortion
performance when applied to different images.Comment: There has no technical difference to previous versions, but rather

Distinguishing Computer-generated Graphics from Natural Images Based on Sensor Pattern Noise and Deep Learning
Computer-generated graphics (CGs) are images generated by computer software.
The~rapid development of computer graphics technologies has made it easier to
generate photorealistic computer graphics, and these graphics are quite
difficult to distinguish from natural images (NIs) with the naked eye. In this
paper, we propose a method based on sensor pattern noise (SPN) and deep
learning to distinguish CGs from NIs. Before being fed into our convolutional
neural network (CNN)-based model, these images---CGs and NIs---are clipped into
image patches. Furthermore, three high-pass filters (HPFs) are used to remove
low-frequency signals, which represent the image content. These filters are
also used to reveal the residual signal as well as SPN introduced by the
digital camera device. Different from the traditional methods of distinguishing
CGs from NIs, the proposed method utilizes a five-layer CNN to classify the
input image patches. Based on the classification results of the image patches,
we deploy a majority vote scheme to obtain the classification results for the
full-size images. The~experiments have demonstrated that (1) the proposed
method with three HPFs can achieve better results than that with only one HPF
or no HPF and that (2) the proposed method with three HPFs achieves 100\%
accuracy, although the NIs undergo a JPEG compression with a quality factor of

Regulation of AMPA receptors in spinal nociception
The functional properties of α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methy-4-isoxazole propionate (AMPA) receptors in different brain regions, such as hippocampus and cerebellum, have been well studied in vitro and in vivo. The AMPA receptors present a unique characteristic in the mechanisms of subunit regulation during LTP (long-term potentiation) and LTD (long-term depression), which are involved in the trafficking, altered composition and phosphorylation of AMPA receptor subunits. Accumulated data have demonstrated that spinal AMPA receptors play a critical role in the mechanism of both acute and persistent pain. However, less is known about the biochemical regulation of AMPA receptor subunits in the spinal cord in response to painful stimuli. Recent studies have shown that some important regulatory processes, such as the trafficking of AMPA receptor subunit, subunit compositional changes, phosphorylation of AMPA receptor subunits, and their interaction with partner proteins may contribute to spinal nociceptive transmission. Of all these regulation processes, the phosphorylation of AMPA receptor subunits is the most important since it may trigger or affect other cellular processes. Therefore, these study results may suggest an effective strategy in developing novel analgesics targeting AMPA receptor subunit regulation that may be useful in treating persistent and chronic pain without unacceptable side effects in the clinics
Elastic metamaterials with simultaneously negative effective shear modulus and mass density
We propose a type of elastic metamaterial comprising fluid-solid composite
inclusions which can possess negative shear modulus and negative mass density
over a large frequency region. Such a solid metamaterial has a unique elastic
property that only transverse waves can propagate with a negative dispersion
while longitudinal waves are forbidden. This leads to many interesting
phenomena such as negative refraction, which is demonstrated by using a wedge
sample, and a significant amount of mode conversion from transverse waves to
longitudinal waves that cannot occur on the interface of two natural solids
A STUDY ON THE BENEFITS OF SPORTS TOURISM ON CITY MARKETING
The purpose of this study is to explore the benefits of sports tourism on city marketing. In recent years, Taiwan has been actively striving for the marketing of large-scale sports events in the development of international sports. The host city uses the resources invested before the holding of the sports event to develop sports tourism attractions, develop sports tourism policies, and make good use of marketing and promotion strategies to shape the city’s image; and uses media marketing as a tourism promotion tool to expand Taiwan’s sports tourism facets which would bring huge tourism effects. This study organizes the research of past scholars by way of literature discussion, and then collects, organizes and analyzes the data. It is concluded that Taiwan has opened up its international reputation through international large-scale sports events and city marketing. From the experience of hosting international large-scale events, Taiwan not only attracts countless domestic and foreign tourists, but also promotes its city’s culture, tourism, and economy. The vigorous development of related industries, the enhancement of sports tourism quality and the improvement of sports tourism image in Taiwan are also achieved. Finally, international large-scale events revitalize the city to bring business opportunities and make such events the pride of the city. Therefore, this study serves as a reference for future exploration of sports tourism development and city marketing issues, integrating relevant resources, and providing reference for relevant organizations to jointly build Taiwan as a sports tourism island.
