Slices of the Kerr ergosurface
The intrinsic geometry of the Kerr ergosurface on constant Boyer-Lindquist
(BL), Kerr, and Doran time slices is characterized. Unlike the BL slice, which
had been previously studied, the other slices (i) do not have conical
singularities at the poles (except the Doran slice in the extremal limit), (ii)
have finite polar circumference in the extremal limit, and (iii) for
sufficiently large spin parameter fail to be isometrically embeddable as a
surface of revolution above some latitude. The Doran slice develops an

High fludarabine exposure and relationship with treatment-related mortality after nonmyeloablative hematopoietic cell transplantation.
Despite its common use in nonmyeloablative preparative regimens, the pharmacokinetics of fludarabine are poorly characterized in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) recipients and exposure-response relationships remain undefined. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between plasma F-ara-A exposure, the systemically circulating moiety of fludarabine, and engraftment, acute GVHD, TRM and OS after HCT. The preparative regimen consisted of CY 50 mg/kg/day i.v. day -6; plus fludarabine 30-40 mg/m²/day i.v. on days -6 to -2 and TBI 200 cGy on day -1. F-ara-A pharmacokinetics were carried out with the first dose of fludarabine in 87 adult patients. Median (range) F-ara-A area-under-the-curve (AUC((0-∞))) was 5.0 μg h/mL (2.0-11.0), clearance 15.3 L/h (6.2-36.6), C(min) 55 ng/mL (17-166) and concentration on day(zero) 16.0 ng/mL (0.1-144.1). Despite dose reductions, patients with renal insufficiency had higher F-ara-A exposures. There was strong association between high plasma concentrations of F-ara-A and increased risk of TRM and reduced OS. Patients with an AUC((0-∞)) greater than 6.5 μg h/mL had 4.56 greater risk of TRM and significantly lower OS. These data suggest that clinical strategies are needed to optimize dosing of fludarabine to prevent overexposure and toxicity in HCT
Operator Quantum Geometric Tensor and Quantum Phase Transitions
We extend the quantum geometric tensor from the state space to the operator
level,and investigate its properties like the additivity for factorizable
models and the splitting of two kinds contributions for the case of stationary
reference states. This operator-quantum-geometric tensor (OQGT) is shown to
reflect the sensitivity of unitary operations against perturbations of multi
parameters. General results for the cases of time evolutions with given
stationary reference states are obtained. By this approach, we get exact
results for the rotated XY models, and show relations between the OQGT and

Black Holes in Einstein-Aether Theory
We study black hole solutions in general relativity coupled to a unit
timelike vector field dubbed the "aether". To be causally isolated a black hole
interior must trap matter fields as well as all aether and metric modes. The
theory possesses spin-0, spin-1, and spin-2 modes whose speeds depend on four
coupling coefficients. We find that the full three-parameter family of local
spherically symmetric static solutions is always regular at a metric horizon,
but only a two-parameter subset is regular at a spin-0 horizon. Asymptotic
flatness imposes another condition, leaving a one-parameter family of regular
black holes. These solutions are compared to the Schwarzschild solution using
numerical integration for a special class of coupling coefficients. They are
very close to Schwarzschild outside the horizon for a wide range of couplings,
and have a spacelike singularity inside, but differ inside quantitatively. Some
quantities constructed from the metric and aether oscillate in the interior as
the singularity is approached. The aether is at rest at spatial infinity and
flows into the black hole, but differs significantly from the the 4-velocity of

Field-Induced Resistive Switching in Metal-Oxide Interfaces
We investigate the polarity-dependent field-induced resistive switching
phenomenon driven by electric pulses in perovskite oxides. Our data show that
the switching is a common occurrence restricted to an interfacial layer between
a deposited metal electrode and the oxide. We determine through impedance
spectroscopy that the interfacial layer is no thicker than 10 nm and that the
switch is accompanied by a small capacitance increase associated with charge
accumulation. Based on interfacial I-V characterization and measurement of the
temperature dependence of the resistance, we propose that a field-created
crystalline defect mechanism, which is controllable for devices, drives the

BoolSurf: Boolean Operations on Surfaces
We port Boolean set operations between 2D shapes to surfaces of any genus, with any number of open boundaries. We combine shapes bounded by sets of freely intersecting loops, consisting of geodesic lines and cubic Bézier splines lying on a surface. We compute the arrangement of shapes directly on the surface and assign integer labels to the cells of such arrangement. Differently from the Euclidean case, some arrangements on a manifold may be inconsistent. We detect inconsistent arrangements and help the user to resolve them. Also, we extend to the manifold setting recent work on Boundary-Sampled Halfspaces, thus supporting operations more general than standard Booleans, which are well defined on inconsistent arrangements, too. Our implementation discretizes the input shapes into polylines at an arbitrary resolution, independent of the level of resolution of the underlying mesh. We resolve the arrangement inside each triangle of the mesh independently and combine the results to reconstruct both the boundaries and the interior of each cell in the arrangement. We reconstruct the control points of curves bounding cells, in order to free the result from discretization and provide an output in vector format. We support interactive usage, editing shapes consisting up to 100k line segments on meshes of up to 1M triangles
Anomalies and Hawking radiation from the Reissner-Nordstr\"om black hole with a global monopole
We extend the work by S. Iso, H. Umetsu and F. Wilczek [Phys. Rev. Lett. 96
(2006) 151302] to derive the Hawking flux via gauge and gravitational anomalies
of a most general two-dimensional non-extremal black hole space-time with the
determinant of its diagonal metric differing from the unity () and use it to investigate Hawking radiation from the Reissner-Nordstrom
black hole with a global monopole by requiring the cancellation of anomalies at
the horizon. It is shown that the compensating energy momentum and gauge fluxes
required to cancel gravitational and gauge anomalies at the horizon are
precisely equivalent to the -dimensional thermal fluxes associated with
Hawking radiation emanating from the horizon at the Hawking temperature. These

Phenomenological covariant approach to gravity
We covariantly modify the Einstein-Hilbert action such that the modified
action perturbatively resolves the flat rotational velocity curve of the spiral
galaxies and gives rise to the Tully-Fisher relation, and dynamically generates
the cosmological constant. This modification requires introducing just a single

Thermodynamics of black holes: an analogy with glasses
The present equilibrium formulation of thermodynamics for black holes has
several drawbacks, such as assuming the same temperature for black hole and
heat bath. Recently the author formulated non-equilibrium thermodynamics for
glassy systems. This approach is applied to black holes, with the cosmic
background temperature being the bath temperature, and the Hawking temperature
the internal temperature. Both Hawking evaporation and absorption of background
radiation are taken into account.

Fixed-Combination Halobetasol Propionate and Tazarotene in the Treatment of Psoriasis: Narrative Review of Mechanisms of Action and Therapeutic Benefits
Psoriasis is a lifelong disease associated with cycles of remission and relapse. Topical treatments are the front line of psoriasis therapy for most patients and have antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, and immunosuppressive mechanisms of action. Novel fixed-dose combinations of topical therapeutic agents are becoming increasingly available, leveraging multiple mechanisms of action to improve safety and efficacy with formulations that are easier to use and may allow for the use of lower doses of active ingredients. A fixed-combination lotion containing the potent-to-super-potent corticosteroid halobetasol propionate (HP) and the retinoid tazarotene (HP 0.01%/TAZ 0.045%) was recently developed using polymeric emulsion technology. This new formulation technology allows for more uniform and efficient delivery of the active ingredients at lower doses than conventional monotherapy formulations of either ingredient while providing enhanced hydration and moisturization. This review provides an up-to-date overview of the therapeutic mechanisms of action of HP and TAZ, the rationale behind the development of HP 0.01%/TAZ 0.045% lotion, and clinical trials data on the efficacy, safety and tolerability, and maintenance of therapeutic effect with HP 0.01%/TAZ 0.045% lotion in the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis
