Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an endemic disease caused by dengue viruses with Aedes aegypti mosquitoes as the vector is still a health problem in Indonesia. DHF often occurs in the community with high pollution, such as a scavenger environment that is generally dirty and unkempt. Lack of knowledge about health problems especially DHF and most of the scavenger's behavior in collecting used goods did not support the 3M movement which increases DHF risks. This Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) attempted to increase public awareness and understanding about DHF by giving counseling about mosquito repellent plants. The selected plants are lemongrass leaves because mosquitoes dislike their aroma, and the leaves are easy to obtain, develop, and process into a mosquito repellent product that is more easily applied. The target chosen was the children in the scavenger settlement of Blok O Yogyakarta and it focused on the importance of early education of health awareness. Creativity and entrepreneurship skills of the children were also developed with the manufacture and utilization of the resulting product. The results showed that there was an increase of knowledge, awareness, and involvement in the effort to prevent DHF as recorded in the pre-test and post-test
