The cause of flood problems could be identified from problems that happened in the catchment area as flood water discharge and flooded or inundation area. The objective of this study is to identify the degree of flood vulnerability, both flood water discharge and flooded area, as a basis of flood mitigation at the Musi Watershed. Method applied on this study is the watershed typology formula developed by Watershed Management Technology Centre (WMTC) for identifying flood vulnerability based on land system, land cover, and maximum daily rainfall. Degree of flood vulnerability is differentiated into five categories. Musi Watershed was divided into 14 sub watersheds and each sub watershed is identified its degree of vulnerability on flood water discharge and area of flooded area. Based on these values the rank of sub watershed to its degree of degradation could be generated. The result showed that Komering and Deras Sub Watersheds were vulnerable to flood due to their nature. Ogan and Upper Musi Sub watersheds were the source of flood due to different caused by high rainfall, while Upper Musi was generated by high land vulnerable. The mitigation program in the flood prone area is complicated since Deras Sub Watershed was the accumulation of many downstream sub watersheds. Mitigation program in the discharge area could be done in Upper Musi Sub Watershed, since it has the highest vulnerability. Upper Musi is also the upstream of Deras Sub Watershed

Evaluasi Lahan Untuk Menilai Kinerja Sub Daerah Aliran Sungai Rawakawuk (Land Evaluation to Assess Performance of Rawakawuk Sub Watershed)

Land is an important resource in a watershed because of its position as a processor. The condition of a watershed depends on the land management and its compliance with its performance. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the performance of Rawakawuk Sub Watershed from the land aspects. Guidelines of Watershed Evaluation and Monitoring, i.e. the Regulation of Director General of Land Rehabilitation and Social Forestry or PerDirjen 04/V-Set/2009 was used to analyze parameters of Vegetation Cover Index (VCI), Land Use Suitability Index (LUSI), and Erosion Index (EI). The results showed that the study area has 53% of pine and teak monoculture, and 20,7 % of agroforestry private forest, therefore the VCI is 73,2%. The LUSI is 93,7% which implies that 93,7% of the area is suitable to its land capability. In addition, 36,1% of the area is exposed to very severe erosion. Since the solum depth is relatively deep (>90 cm), the tolerable soil erosion is high and EI tends to be small. Around 60,3% of the area has an average EI of 71,1 which is classified as moderate. Based on the cumulative value of VCI, LUSI and EI, Rawakawuk Sub Watershed can be classified as slightly good. However, conservation practices should be applied to the very severe erosion areas

Kajian Infiltrasi Tanah Pada Berbagai Tegakan Jati (Tectona Grandis L.) Di Cepu, Jawa Tengah

This proceeding contains articles on the various ideas of the academic community presented at The 3rd International Conference on Community Engagement and Education for Sustainable Development (ICCEESD 2022) organized by the Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia on 7th-8th December 2022.Ā  ICCEESD is a biannual forum for sharing, benchmarking, and discussing HEIā€™s activities in developing Education for Sustainable Development towards community engagement. Education for Sustainability as a teaching strategy for resolving community challenges through formal, informal, or non-formal education is expected to benefit from various community service best practices by academics, researchers, and students. The 3rd ICCEESD has ā€œStrengthening Education for Sustainability Towards Better Community Engagementā€ as its theme this year. It is expected that the 3rd ICCEESD will provide a forum for the presenters and participants to exchange best practices, policies, and conceptual implementation of Education for Sustainability towards better community engagement and explore ideas to address community needs.Ā  Conference Title:Ā 3rd International Conference on Community Engagement and Education for Sustainable DevelopmentConference Theme:Ā Strengthening Education for Sustainability Towards Better Community EngagementConference Acronyms:Ā ICCEESD 2022Conference Date: 7th-8th December 2022Conference Location: Grand Rohan Jogja Yogyakarta, IndonesiaConference Organizer: Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesi
