Myxobacteria are Gram negative bacteria commonly found in soil, tree bark, and decay wood. These bacteria have unique social behaviors by forming fruiting bodies, moving by gliding motility and preying on other microorganisms. The research was conducted to isolate, characterize, and identify indigenous myxobacteria from Sumba and Papua Islands of Indonesia as a preliminary step to utilize their potential in the pharmaceutical industry. Myxobacteria were isolated using filter paper and baiting with Escherichia coli to obtain cellulolytic and bacteriolytic myxobacteria, respectively. Characterization of myxobacteria was performed with Gram staining, observation on pigmentation, morphology of vegetative cells, fruiting bodies, and myxospores. Molecular identification was conducted based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. A total of 10 myxobacterial strains were successfully isolated and purified. All isolates obtained were Gram negative, rod shaped with yellow or orange pigmentation. Fruiting bodies observed contained spherical myxospores. Molecular identification of these bacterial strains showed that they belong to myxobacteria from suborder Cystobacterineae, namely Myxococcus fulvus, Myxococcus stipitatus, and Melittangium lichenicola. To our knowledge, this is the first record of their occurrence in Indonesia

This paper examines the effect of corporate governance on tax avoidance. Corporate governance is proxied by the background of accounting or financial expertise of the audit committee, the proportion of independent directors, executive compensation, public ownership, and the largest shareholding. Tax avoidance is measured by performance-matched tax avoidance measure. By using purposive sampling in the observation period 2010-2012, obtained 399 observations from non-financial companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Data were analyzed using ordinary least square regression model by incorporating the effect of year and industry sectors. Regression results show that public ownership and the largest shareholding have negative effect on tax avoidance. Company performance has positive effect on tax avoidance. Meanwhile, the background of accounting or financial expertise of audit committees, the proportion of independent directors, executive compensation, and company size do not have a significant effect on tax avoidance. The results of this paper indicate that some of the mechanisms of corporate governance in Indonesia are not effective according to their function for shareholders

Background: Knowledge is the result of considering a case, including recall events that never happened either intentionally or unintentionally. Lack of knowledge about brushing teeth is very influential in personal hygiene as brushing teeth include routines that must be done every day. Results of a preliminary study that researchers do in SDS Kartini in 2013, showed that after the interview about the importance of brushing your teeth, 3 out of 10 children can answer questions correctly and 7 children can not answer the question correctly. It can be concluded that there is still a lack of knowledge of the students at SDS Kartini. In improving the knowledge to do with one of the health education video modeling. This study want to analyze different knowledge between before and after giving health education. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental research design with the approach of one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were children aged 6-12 years in SDS Kartini. The sampling technique in this research is simple random sampling with a sample size of 32 people. Data collection is done at the time before and after health education using a questionnaire of 25 questions. Analysis of statistical data used is dependent t test. Results: The results obtained from this study is the knowledge before intervention (pretest) is 50.84 and knowledge after intervention (posttest) is 89.22 with p value (sig) of 0.000. Conclusion: Based on the results, there are significant differences in the level of knowledge before and after being given health education
