СРАВНИТЕЛЬНЫЙ АНАЛИЗ ПЕРЕВОДА РЕАЛИЙ В РАССКАЗЕ А. П. ЧЕХОВА "ДОМ С МЕЗОНИНОМ"

The article discusses the features of conveying the realia of the Russian literary text into English. The authors carry out the comparative analysis of the realia translations in the story by A. P. Chekhov “The House with the Mezzanine” made by native speakers of English and Russian. The study shows that the translation of realia requires that the translator not only possesses certain strategies and techniques for the proper rendering of the elements that are nationally specific, but also knows and understands the national character, culture, traditions and historical allusions of a specific nation.В статье рассматриваются особенности передачи реалий при переводе русскоязычного художественного текста на английский язык. Авторы проводят сопоставительный анализ переводов реалий в рассказе А. П. Чехова «Дом с мезонином», выполненных носителями английского и русского языков. Исследование показало, что перевод реалий требует от переводчика не только владения определенными стратегиями и приемами правильной передачи элементов, имеющих национально-специфический характер, но и знания и понимания национального характера, культуры, традиций и исторических аллюзий конкретного народа

Skype technologies in developing listening and speaking skills when teaching English to tour guides

Introduction. The relevance of the study is due to the need for the formation and development of listening and speaking skills, which are crucial for guides-translators who use English in work with foreign tourists and require constant improvement. It is the distance learning format that allows you to improve your professional language level. The purpose of the study is to develop a model for on-line teaching guides the English language employing Skype technologies. Methodology. The key research methods were the method of a needs analysis (questionnaires and interviews) and a pedagogical experiment. Questionnaires, interviews and testing allowed selecting the participants of the experiment who demonstrated high motivation to study online and confirmed their B1-B2 level of English. The experiment, which took place on the basis of the Moscow School of Tourism and Hospitality "Tour Center", involved two groups of 14 people each. Using a learner-centered approach we created a twelve-week Skype-based English course, which correlated with the professional training syllabus of the participants of the experiment. Results. The results of the final testing and interview showed that this technique with the use of Skype technologies is effective and contributes to the further formation and development of speaking and listening skills. The number of students experiencing difficulty demonstrating these skills decreased from 55% to 22% and 60% to 30%, respectively. In addition, the approbation of the developed model revealed the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning in general and Skype technologies in particular. Conclusion. The study showed the high efficiency of Skype-technologies in teaching English for special purposes as part of an additional educational course. The developed methodology can be used in the process of practice-oriented training aimed at forming the professional competencies of future specialists. © 2021 LLC Ecological Help. Способы выражения эмоций в современной британской литературе: лексический и грамматический аспекты (на примере романа Дж. Мойес "До встречи с тобой" (J. Moyes "Me before you"))

The study aims to identify lexical and grammatical means of expressing emotions in J. Moyes’s novel “Me before you”. Relevance of the paper is conditioned by the fact that the problem of emotion representation has not been previously investigated by the material of the modern British literature. Originality of the research lies in the fact that for the first time the authors provide a comprehensive analysis of the means to express emotions in the creative work of the popular British novelist. The findings indicate that in the analysed novel, emotions are most frequently expressed by lexical means.В данном исследовании ставится цель - выявить лексические и грамматические способы выражения эмоций и их вербальную репрезентацию в тексте произведения Дж. Мойес «До встречи с тобой» (J. Moyes “Me before you”). Актуальность обусловлена недостаточной изученностью поставленной проблемы на материале современной британской литературы. Научная новизна работы состоит в том, что впервые представлен максимально полный анализ способов выражения эмоций в творчестве популярного автора. Полученные результаты показали, что лексические способы выражения эмоций являются наиболее частотными в анализируемом романе

Состояние здоровья студентов специальной медицинской группы на основе анализа показателей системы внешнего дыхания

The study was designed to apply an automatic Spiro C-100 spirometer to rate health of female students attributed to the special health group based on the external respiratory function rating data. Sampled for the study were the female students attributed to the special health group and diagnosed with bronchial system deficiency in the large and middle bronchi; weak respiratory muscles and limited lung expansibility. These health conditions are naturally associated with the deficient general adaptation reserves as verified by the low vital capacities and external ventilation system disorders manifested, among other things, in the low vital capacities. Due efforts need to be taken to mitigate or reverse the health deterioration trends by new physical education models customizable to the progress needs of this health group with a special priority to the sets of expansion and relaxation respiratory practices geared to strengthen the intercostals, abdomen and diaphragm muscles and the cardio-respiratory system on the whole; improve the metabolic processes; and scale down the nervous tension, with a special emphasis on the reasonable physical activity highly important for this health group.Для оценки состояния здоровья студенток, занимающихся физической культурой в специальной медицинской группе, выполненной на основе анализа показателей системы внешнего дыхания, было проведено исследование его показателей с автоматического спирометра «Спиро С-100». В исследовании приняли участие студентки, отнесенные по состоянию здоровья к специальной медицинской группе. У девушек отмечено снижение бронхиальной проводимости в системе крупных и средних бронхов, слабость дыхательной мускулатуры, снижение растяжимости легких. Отрицательные процессы сказываются на общих адаптивных резервах организма, о чем свидетельствует снижение ЖЕЛ, и отражаются на общем состоянии вентиляционной функции аппарата внешнего дыхания, на что указывают значения максимальной вентиляции легких. Для сглаживания критических изменений необходимо пересмотреть подходы к процессу физического воспитания данной категории студенток, включая в занятия по физической культуре комплексы дыхательных упражнений и упражнений на растяжение и расслабление, способствующих укреплению межреберных мышц, мышц брюшного пресса и диафрагмы, а также укреплению кардиореспираторной системы, улучшению обменных процессов, снижению нервного напряжения при соблюдении основного принципа при работе с данным контингентом - принципа щадящего двигательного режима
