    Technology Management Process Framework

    The effective management of technology as a source of competitive advantage is of vital importance for many organizations. It is necessary to understand, communicate and integrate technology strategy with marketing, financial, operations and human resource strategies. This is of particular importance when one considers the increasing cost, pace and complexity of technology developments, combined with shortening product life cycles. A five process model provides a framework within which technology management activities can be understood: identification, selection, acquisition, exploitation and protection. Based on this model, a technology management assessment procedure has been developed, using an ``action research'' approach. This paper presents an industrial case study describing the first full application of the procedure within a high-volume manufacturing business. The impact of applying the procedure is assessed in terms of benefits to the participating business, together with improvements to the assessment procedure itself, in the context of the action research framework

    On the production floor PT. PINDAD (Persero) there are a lot of good activities are carried out using a machine or manually. Product or material contained in the production of floor material or products which have a heavy burden. Manual material handling is done by the operator are also included with the material moving heavy loads manually, these activities will lead to the risk of injury to the operator. To determine the risk of injury to the operator conducting manual material handling using RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment. This method is used to determine the value of the posture of the operator with an indicator of certain indicators. The data processing is done after the field data collection is done, the processing of this data use CATIA software and the result is that operators do the job posutr not work well and need to be repaired as soon as possible. If the operator stick with doing the job of the working posture, the risk of operator injury would be great. Repair work posture operator can do with improvement or addition of facilities which is based on ergonomics

    Doing work with incorrect working posture , heavy load and design tool not ergonomic can result in loss one of them is a complaint of musculoskeletal disorders. UKM Usaha Baru is business of making paving and bataco where the process is the worker is sitting on the small bench with a height of mold tools that align with a small stool , it makes the worker's posture when making products becomes uncomfortable , beside that the workers doing work with foot flexed position. From the results of the interview to the workers stated that the highest complaints rate are experienced pain in the neck , right shoulder , left shoulder , back, knee and waist . This research aims to know the value of REBA and provide suggestions for improvement to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. From the research that has been conducted found that in the process of paving and batako produce moderate risk levels, high and very high so it is necessary to measure the changes. By using anthropometric data, facility design work is done in order to reduce complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. The results produce a work table stands runway with a length of 65cm, width 50cm and height 90cm for paving and length 65cm, width 50cm and height 77cm to brick, as well as additional storage and a table of cement and sand to facilitate trade

    PT. Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia (CCBI) Central Java merupakan salah satu Perusahaan produsen minuman ringan yang terkemuka di Indonesia, dengan dua jenis kelompok produk yang dihasilkan yaitu minuman karbonasi/Carbonated Soft Drink (Coca-Cola, Sprite, dan Fanta) dan non-karbonasi (Frestea dan Ades). Dalam USAha untuk mempertahankan mutu dan meningkatkan produktifitas, salah satu faktor yang harus diperhatikan adalah masalah perawatan fasilitas/mesin produksi. Makalah ini membahas mengenai penyebab dan akibat yang ditimbulkan oleh breakdown mesin terjadi pada Line 8/Carbonated Soft Drink, khususnya pada conveyor, filler machine, dan bottle washer machine. Untuk mendapatkan mesin yang dapat terjaga keterandalannya dibutuhkan suatu konsep yang baik. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) merupakan sebuah konsep yang baik untuk merealisasikan hal tersebut. Konsep ini, selain melibatkan semua personil dalam Perusahaan, juga bertujuan untuk merawat semua fasilitas produksi yang dimiliki Perusahaan.Data yang digunakan merupakan data breakdown conveyor, filler machine, dan bottle washer machine dari ME Monthly Report PT.CCBI selama bulan Januari-Desember 2005 khususnya line 8. Selain itu makalah ini juga membahas performance maintenance PT. Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia-Central Java, dengan memperhitungkan nilai Mean Time Beetwen Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), serta Availability mesin, dengan menggunakan data record Line 8 selama bulan Mei 2006 sampai bulan Juli 2006. Sehingga nantinya akan diketahui informasi keadaan aktual dari Perusahaan tentang sistem perawatannya, khususnya pada Line 8/Carbonated Soft Drink apakah baik atau buruk. Kata kunci : Total Production Maintenance, Conveyor, Filler Machine, Bottle Washer Machine, Performance Maintenance PT. For the reason, to get machine which can be awaked by reliability required a good concept. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) represent a concept which is good to realize the mentioned. Because of the concept besides entangling all personnel in company also aim to take care of all production facility owned company.     [Mental Work Load Analysis With NASA TLX Method Method at Distribution Division Products of PT. Paragon Technology Innovation] Product distribution division at PT Paragon Technology Innovation Semarang have the mental work load heavier than the physical workload such as looking for the shortest route, read the list of ordered, sorting according the list of orders, and perform final inspection. The number of employees are 4 with 1 piece pickup / person with work duration of 08.00a.m. to 4:30p.m. and 12:00a.m to 1:00p.m. at the break. Mental load measurement is needed to determine the capacity of the employee so that the mental burden of the employee can be minimized. Work measurement method used in this reasearch is the NASA TLX (National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index). This method is used because of measuring 6 dimensions such as mental demand (MD), physical demand (PD), temporal demand (TD), performance (PO), effort (EF), and frustration (FR). The results of the measurements show aspects of MD and EF's most dominant by value - average weight x ranking respectively at 260 and 237.5. To minimize mental workload there are recommendations such as implementation division of labor and for material handling use hand trolley for ordering large volumes

    To achieve a good member of organization, organization is really needed member who have good EQ (Emotional Quotient). EQ is useful in controlling emotions, motivating yourself to keep a good relationship to the surrounding environment. At retail companies such as Carrefour DP Mall Semarang, employees deal directly with customers and among employees. Based on the researchers will look at what effect the emotional intelligence of employees at counterproductive work behavior and positive behavior of the organization. In this case use variable used Other's Emotion Appraisal, Use of Emotion, Emotion Self-Appraisal and Regulation of Emotion does influence with variable Counterproduktif Work Behavior or Organizational Citizenship Behavior. This study uses a conceptual model of research and Yoon Jung (2012), by distributing questionnaires to 60 employees and tested method of correlation and linear regression analysis. From the results of the conducted test are the results of that variable Regulation of Emotion has the greatest influence on the behavior of Counterproduktif Work Behavior and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in which the ability to control one's emotions become the main thing that should be owned by the employees, in addition to the variable Other's Emotion Appraisal also has a role big enough, which meaning that employees must have the ability to be sensitive and understand the other person

    PT. AOI has several departments in conducting industrial enterprises, namely the warehouse department fabric and accesoris, cutting, distribution, sewing, and finished goods warehouse. At the department distribution problems occur irregular layout so that complicates the process of search and retrieval of the stored container box and capacity are still considered less. It is also in the process flow in the area is still considered a complex distribution department. Distribution departments function as warehouse products work in process of cutting department to the sewing department. In this study, rearranging the layout using randomized storage and class-based storage as well as consideration of the adjusted allocation of other areas. By design the layout of the proposal, obtained by adding capacity to as many as 430 container box area, the search system is easier because the products work in process has been grouped into a product that requires a process that does not require welding pocket and need welding pocket process. Then, the flow of each process in a more simple distribution department, namely the parameters a shorter distance than that of the initial layout

    Productivity is the company's ability to optimize output from all input that they use to production. The output they produce must fulfill the customer demand. PT Smart Tbk Surabaya is one of the private manufacturing industries which are existed in the processing of palm oil. There are unbalance condition during processing the product. The output of the production is different from the customer demand. It happened because there are some wastes during the filling process. This research is focus on solving the problem by using Lean Manufacturing and creating the improvement in filling proces by using line balancing method. The purpose of value stream mapping is to identify waste during filling process. Tools of lean manufacturing and line balancing are used to reducetion the cycle time in a palm oil production. Based on the analysis, there will be four improvements. They are improvement the sequence of filling process; combine the operation of plugging and capping, continuous flow by line balancing and layout redesign. This improvement can reduce the defect rate, the number of operation time up to 188.55 second/batch, increase the line efficiency to be 79.83% and decrease the delay time to be 23%
