Efficient generation of many-body singlet states of spin-1 bosons in optical superlattices

    Get PDF
We propose an efficient stepwise adiabatic merging (SAM) method to generate many-body singlet states in antiferromagnetic spin-1 bosons in concatenated optical superlattices with isolated double-well arrays, by adiabatically ramping up the double-well bias. With an appropriate choice of bias sweeping rate and magnetic field, the SAM protocol predicts a fidelity as high as 90% for a sixteen-body singlet state and even higher fidelities for smaller even-body singlet states. During their evolution, the spin-1 bosons exhibit interesting squeezing dynamics, manifested by an odd-even oscillation of the experimentally observable squeezing parameter. The generated many-body singlet states may find practical applications in precision measurement of magnetic field gradient and in quantum information processing.Comment: 8 pages, 8 figures, submitted to Phys. Anomalous thermoelectric transport of Dirac particles in graphene

We report a thermoelectric study of graphene in both zero and applied magnetic fields. As a direct consequence of the linear dispersion of massless particles, we find that the Seebeck coefficient Sxx diverges with 1 /, where n2D is the carrier density. We observe a very large Nernst signal Sxy (~ 50 uV/K at 8 T) at the Dirac point, and an oscillatory dependence of both Sxx and Sxy on n2D at low temperatures. Our results underscore the anomalous thermoelectric transport in graphene, which may be used as a highly sensitive probe for impurity bands near the Dirac point

Radio-frequency spectroscopy of weakly bound molecules in spin-orbit coupled atomic Fermi gases

We investigate theoretically radio-frequency spectroscopy of weakly bound molecules in an ultracold spin-orbit-coupled atomic Fermi gas. We consider two cases with either equal Rashba and Dresselhaus coupling or pure Rashba coupling. The former system has been realized very recently at Shanxi University [Wang et al., arXiv:1204.1887] and MIT [Cheuk et al., arXiv:1205.3483]. We predict realistic radio-frequency signals for revealing the unique properties of anisotropic molecules formed by spin-orbit coupling.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure

INOVACIJA MONOPOLA S POTROŠNIM RESURSIMA I UTROŠKOM RADA

This paper focuses on the propensity to innovate for a monopolist with two inputs, an exhaustible resource and labor. When this exhaustible resource is used up, the monopolist quits this industry. This paper characterizes the relationship between the two types of elasticity of innovation. With this relationship, the equilibrium is captured. This study argues that the lower the marginal cost incurred by innovation, the longer it takes for the monopolist to quit the industry and the higher the profits.

A Survey on the Educational Benefits of Compulsory Education in B Land of Tibet

The outcome of education includes students’ academic achievement and social adaptability. In order to explore the current situation and factors of outcome of education in the compulsory education stage of Tibetan agricultural and pastoral areas, junior high school students from 5 counties of B agricultural and pastoral areas are selected as survey objects. A research method combining questionnaires and interviews was conducted to investigate. The study found that: the local curriculum resources are estranged from the students’ life experience, the difficulty of understanding the teaching language and the rigid management mode are the reasons for the low outcome of education in the agricultural and pastoral areas
