Power Generation Pricing Model Based on Long Rung Marginal Cost Methodology

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a long run marginal cost based formulation for reflecting the usage based pricing of electrical power. The aim of this paper is to develop a novel method that can price the real power on a long term basis in a multi-machine power system. The proposed method has shown that the cost of future investment is governed by the perturbation of generating power.  The economic efficiency of the proposed model is demonstrated in a 203 buses 267 lines 23 machines real power system of eastern part of India where total 23 generators are categorized in 5 types according to their ratings and analyzed the price at their optimal operating condition with 10% loading variation.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v2i2.19

352-357Aroma and flavour are the important part of food that increase the organoleptic properties of a food and makes the food more acceptable among consumers. Flavour and aromatic compounds are the most essential components in food, feed, cosmetics, pharmaceutics, and toiletries products. Commercial production of flavour and aroma compounds from the microbial source in the industry is a modern approach but the concept behind it is in human practices since time immemorial. However, the health-promoting benefits of microbial bioprocesses products are numerous ranging, from antibiotics to fermented functional foods are among the most appreciable one. This review includes the verity of flavour production from various types of microorganisms and its application in the food industry, and a brief discussion about its health benefits among the consumers

© 2020 A and V Publications. All right reservedThe world has witnessed an increasing number of natural disasters in recent years affecting large populations. The logistical operations to deliver relief to these populations are complex requiring careful planning and execution especially during the Last Mile Relief Distribution (LMRD), the ultimate phase in these operations. LMRD is the phase where the disaster logistics chain directly connects with the affected communities and whose performance is affected by many factors. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the impact of relevant factors on LMRD performance in the context of India, the most affected country in the world by natural disasters. The research was conducted interviews with International NGOs and Indian government, national, and international NGOs involved in disaster relief operations in the country to determine the factors affecting LMRD operations. The qualitative phase findings identified coordination as the most significant factor affecting LMRD operations performance in India and established an outline, which will be used as a planner of LMRD before decision-making process in India. This research identifies coordination as a major factor of LMRD operations in India. Its impact is evaluated through the development of a conceptual model, which provided empirical evidence of the magnitude of LMRD performance improvement by adopting new coordination policies. The research provides suggestions for new ways on how to achieve better coordination and implement these successfully in Indian LMRD operations.Peer reviewe

Molecular Docking Unmasks Potent Phytoligands against SARS CoV 2 Spike Glycoprotein, Main Protease, Papain like Protease and RNA dependent RNA Polymerase

The recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has offered a unique challenge for human survival. However, there is no available known prophylaxis, therapeutic intervention, and vaccine candidate against SARS-CoV-2 to date. We aimed towards identifying novel phytoligands from widely available botanical resources which could serve as potential inhibitors against SARS-CoV-2. Based on literature review, database search, ADMET, and drug-likeness, 55 phytoligands and 8 synthetic repurposing drugs were screened and tested against SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein, main protease, papain-like protease, and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase using molecular docking and protein-ligand interaction. All phytoligands and repurposing drugs showed binding affinity based inhibitory potential against the viral proteins. The highest binding affinities of phytoligands towards antiviral targets were exhibited by colchicine and oleic acid, and that of repurposing drugs was shown by saquinavir and nelfinavir. Capsaicin, oleic acid, azithromycin, nelfinavir, remdesivir, and saquinavir were acted as plausible broad-spectrum inhibitors. Hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions of amino acids were varied significantly within the conserved domain along with glutamic acid richness. Further investigation should be carried out to obtain the synergistic effect using cell-based assays, animal models, and clinical trials to discover novel phytomedicine against SARS-CoV-2
