Embeddings and C∗C^*-envelopes of exact operator systems

We prove a necessary and sufficient condition for embeddability of an operator system into O2\mathcal{O}_2. Using Kirchberg's theorems on a tensor product of O2\mathcal{O}_2 and O∞\mathcal{O}_{\infty}, we establish results on their operator system counterparts S2\mathcal{S}_2 and S∞\mathcal{S}_{\infty}. Applications of the results proved, including some examples describing C∗C^*-envelopes of operator systems, are also discussed.Comment: 12 Pages. Detection techniques of selective forwarding attacks in wireless sensor networks: a survey

The wireless sensor network has become a hot research area due its wide range of application in military and civilian domain, but as it uses wireless media for communication these are easily prone to security attacks. There are number of attacks on wireless sensor networks like black hole attack, sink hole attack, Sybil attack, selective forwarding attacks etc. in this paper we will concentrate on selective forwarding attacks In selective forwarding attacks, malicious nodes behave like normal nodes and selectively drop packets. The selection of dropping nodes may be random. Identifying such attacks is very difficult and sometimes impossible. In this paper we have listed up some detection techniques, which have been proposed by different researcher in recent years, there we also have tabular representation of qualitative analysis of detection techniquesComment: 6 Page

Teachers Matter: Traditional and Non-traditional Teacher Quality Measures in India

AbstractIn this age of educational globalization, much focus is on teacher quality as a factor to improve education quality worldwide. In India, teacher quality is blamed for the poor performance on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2009. Policymakers are, therefore, looking at teacher quality as a measure to improve student performance. Through content analysis, this study investigates teacher quality in India using evidence from the National Curriculum Framework (NCF 2005), National Curriculum for Teacher Education (NCFTE 2009), and the National Policy on Education (NPE 2016). Furthermore, this study uses data collected from PISA 2009 testing to analyze teacher quality variables with student mathematics scores for India. The purpose of this mixed methods analysis is to identify and analyze both traditional and non-traditional measures of teacher quality and how teacher quality explains the variance in student performance in mathematics in India. The study provides a systematic framework for policymakers for further improving teacher quality in India. Also, the study indicates paths for further research in order to augment educational practices in India in order to secure better student achievement and improve the country’s global standing

ABSTRACT The present study analysed 7490 citations appended in the 60 Ph.D. theses of Public Administration submitted to Panjab University, Chandigarh, for the award of doctoral degree during 2002-2012. The study analysed the several parameters such as authorship pattern of the citations, form of literature cited, half-life of books and journals and compiled a rank list of journals in Public Administration. The study found that the highest number of citations to research work by single authors was higher in case of both books (2782, 87.02%) and journals (1785, 87.12%). Books comprised the highest citations (3197, 42.68%) followed by journals (2049, 27.36%). Bradford’s law of scattering was used to identify the core journals in the field of Public Administration

This paper determines the materials cited in Ph.D. theses of Sociology, submitted to the Panjab University, Chandigarh during the years 2002-2012 to improve the existing collection development policy of University library. The study reveals that Books are the most preferred sources of information used by the researchers in the field of Sociology, accounting for 57.65% of the total citations, although citations from journals, proceedings, internet resources and reports are also found. It is also observed those researchers are not taking much advantage of internet resources. Bradford\u27s law of scattering was applied. More cited materials were contributed by single authors and degree of collaboration of books was calculated as 0.28 and the degree of collaboration of authors in cited journal articles were calculated as 0.35

University library plays a dynamic role in accomplishing the overall goals of its parent organization by offering a range of services to fulfill needs of the academic community. Being a service institution, performance assessment of a university library is essential to determine whether the library meet its specific objectives and also to justify library spending. Library users are said to be satisfied when the quality of services match their expected level of services. This study aimed at assessing the level of service quality (SQ) offered by the central library of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, (India) from users’ viewpoints using LibQUAL survey instrument in printed format. The survey results discovered that the library users have maximum desired expectations in Library as Place (LP) dimension amongst three dimensions. The actual library performance was also reported maximum in LP dimension, followed by Information Control (IC), and Affect of Service (AS) based on mean scores 6.45, 6.41, and 6.19 respectively. The users’ overall perceived library service quality (LSQ) was found less than their desired level of LSQ. The results of this study will be helpful in improving library underperformance by reviewing the areas and items where LSQ shortfall has been observed

CITATION ANALYSIS OF PH.D. THESES SUBMITTED TO PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH (INDIA) DURING 2002-2012

University libraries are playing an important role to collect and organize the records of knowledge to support teaching and research programmes. Citation analysis is very helpful for Librarian to know researchers literature usage patterns, and helps to analyse the most useful journals to subscribe. In this paper, citation analysis is engaged in studying Ph.D. theses submitted to the Department of Economics, Panjab University Chandigarh, during the period (2002 – 2012) with a view to find out citation practice in the thesis. Citation analysis is a important component of bibliometric studies. The bibliometric studies help to assess research publications and help to produce information which can be used by information experts, decision makers, and experts. This research paper will be helpful tool for assessment of research works in Economics and demonstrate with facts and figures research publications in the field of Economics

Prevention of wound infection: a new technique

Background: Caesarean delivery is a major obstetrical surgical procedure aiming to save the lives of mothers and fetuses. Caesarean sections have a 5 to 20-fold greater chance of getting an infection compared with women who give birth vaginally. These infections can be in the organs within the pelvis, around the surgical incision. Microorganisms isolated from surgical site infection (SSI) were mostly from skin and vaginal flora. The most effective SSI prevention strategies involve a multi-faceted approach including protocols exercised before, during, and after surgery to reduce exposure and susceptibility to pathogens. Methods: It was a case control study conducted in our hospital on caesarean patients. Total 240 patients were recruited for study, divided into cases (DDT group) and control (SDT group). Demographic data collected and follow till 30 days of surgery. SSIs patients identified and treated. Results: Out of total 240 patients, mean age SDT, DDT and total patients were 28.46, 28.6 and 28.3 years respectively. Maximum numbers of cases were among multigravida (gravidity) and lower and lower-middle class (socioeconomic status). SSIs patients were seen mostly in SDT group, which was statistically significant. Among SSIs patient maximum numbers of patients were seen in age group of 18-22 years, primigravida and lower socioeconomic class. After their diagnosis most of the patients were treated with resuturing. Conclusions: SSI is common complication after caesarean section; it can be prevented by increasing the hygienic condition in laboring patients. Authors newer method can be a future option for maintaining the intraoperative hygiene
