    Most of the railway facilities use steel as the constituent material. The method of joining (joining methods) of steel materials, especially in the railroad industry, the most widely used is the welding technique (welding) so that knowledge of the welding process is very important for welding enginers and metallurgists as well as for designers, fabricators, users of welding results. The purpose of this study was to determine the tensile strength of the joint resulting from the friction welding method with variations in the shape of the forging surface and preheat temperature. The shape of the forging surface is 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm. Variations in preheat temperature of 200 C, 400 C and 600 C. The results showed the highest tensile strength of the friction weld joint with an average tensile stress value of 407, 48 MPa on the forging surface shape of 12 mm and a preheat temperature of 600 C. And the tensile strength of the joint The lowest friction welding with an average tensile stress value of 120 MPa on the forging surface shape of 8 mm and a preheat temperature of 200 C.     In the manufacturing industry, the cutting process, especially lathes, has developed rapidly, one of which is in the rail transportation industry sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cutting parameters and the nose radius of the W-style insert tool on the level of surface roughness in the turning process of S45C steel. This research uses experimental research methods. In this study, using a variation of cutting parameters and nose radius. Variations in cutting parameters using cutting speeds of 195 Rpm, 300 Rpm and 440 Rpm. Variation of the depth of cut 1 mm and 2 mm. Variation of feed speed 0.1 mm / rev, 0.2 mm / rev and 0.3 mm / rev. While the variation of the nose tool radius for inserting W-style is 0.4 mm and 0.8 mm. After turning the surface roughness test was carried out using the Surface Roughness Tester. The results of this study indicate that the increasing cutting speed and nose radius of the insert tool, decreasing feeding velocity and cutting depth results in good surface quality.   Keyword: W-series insert tool, nose radius, surface roughness

    Locomotive CC 206 is the newest locomotive owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia. Inside the CC 206 locomotive is equipped with a sophisticated smart display that can monitor all size parameters and damage to the locomotive itself. One of the capabilities of the CC 206 locomotive is the pop test. Pop test is the ability of the CC 206 locomotive to test the performance of each cylinder of the diesel engine. Based on the pop test results, there are various disturbances that often occur during maintenance of the CC 206 locomotive diesel engine.The purpose of this analysis is to analyze the pop test results as a reliability parameter on the CC 206 locomotive diesel engine, to analyze the factors causing the disturbance in the pop test results and analyze the effect of the failure of the pop test results on performance. Based on the results of the pop test, it was found that one of the cylinders was abnormal because the injector was under pressure, the injector spring was damaged and there was a clogged nozzle.   Keyword: CC 206 Locomotive, Pop test, Maintenance

    Pengaruh Variasi Diameter Filler Dan Kuat Arus Terhadap Kekuatan Tarik Hasil Pengelasan SMAW Material Stainless Steel 304

    One of the railway facilities uses stainless steel as the main construction material. The method of joining stainless steel materials, especially the most widely used is the SMAW welding technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the tensile strength of SMAW welding joints on stainless steel 304 material with variations in diameter of rod filler as filler material an d variations in current from DC inverter electric welding machine. The diameter of rod filler as filler material is 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. The variation of the current of the DC inverter of the electric welding machine is 70 A, 100 A and 120 A. The results show the highest tensile strength of the 304 stainless steel welded connection with an average tensile stress of 34.48 MPa on the current electric welding inverter. 120 A is used and the diameter of the rod filler is 2 mm. And the tensile strength of the welding connection of the 304 stainless steel material is the lowest with an average tensile stress of 17.01 MPa at the electric welding inverter current used is 70 A and the diameter of the rod filler is 3 mm.Keyword: SMAW welding, filler, current and stainless stee

    Composite material is a type of new, engineered material consisting of two or more materials where the properties of each material differ from one another both in chemical and physical properties and remain separate in the final material. Composite materials have many advantages, one of which is lighter weight and corrosion resistance. In this study, composites made from glass fiber were carried out with variations in the arrangement of laminates, in order to select the material which was then applied to the manufacture of the inspection lorry body. Composites were made using the hand lay-up method. Tensile test specimens made according to ASTM D-638. The results of the tensile test show that the highest tensile strength of glass fiber composite material for the inspection lorry body is 5.45 MPa and the lowest tensile strength is 4.62 MPa.     Analisis Kekuatan Alat Pengaman Valblock Pada Coupler Kereta

    The purpose of this study was to analyze the stress, displacement, and factor of safety that occurred in the valblock safety device. With the maximum load that occurs at the knuckle is 7473 N. Testing is done using Solidworks simulation software. The material used is AISI 1045 with allowable stress of 450 MPa. The results of the analysis that came out of the simulation were the maximum stress values, displacement, and the factor of safety. The maximum stress results in static conditions that the tool is only able to withstand loads up to 7000 N with a value of 3,540 , and does not exceed the maximum allowable stress limit of the tool, which is 5,300 . The result of the loading is a change in the shape of the stem, namely displacement or deflection. The results obtained from the deflection of 1.3 mm. For the results of the factor of safety, the tool is worth 1.5 at a load of 7000 N so that the valblock safety device is safe to use up to 7000 N loading. Sampai saat ini masih terdapat pengendara yang kurang memperhatikan kunci keselamatan berkendara. Hal ini dikarenakan masyarakat belum sadar akan pentingnya pengetahuan mengenai keselamatan berkendara. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya cara yang efektif untuk mengedukasi masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengetahuan keselamatan berkendara melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dengan melakukan sosialisasi keselamatan perkeretaapian di SDN Ngujung II Magetan.     Inspection lorry very important role in the maintenance of railway infrastructure. Technological modifications in the development of inspection lorry at the Madiun Indonesian Railways Polytechnic are continuing. Development of inspection lorry wheels using composite materials using nylon fiber and hemp fiber as reinforcement and epoxy resin as the matrix. This research was conducted to reduce the load of the third generation inspection lorry which initially used wheels made of nodular cast iron. In designing the wheels of inspection lorry made from composites, this must be taken into account properly so that they do not drop or skid while walking and comply with the main requirements for lorry that are easy to lift and move. The method of making inspection lorry wheels made of composites uses the hand lay-up method. The initial steps taken in this study were designing, determining materials and conducting functional tests. Testing the mechanical properties of the lorry wheel composite materials by diametral tensile strength test with ASTM D695 standard specimens. From the results of the diametral tensile strength test conducted, it was obtained that the specimen had the highest diametral tensile strength value, namely sample 1B of 76.88 MPa and the lowest strength was sample 2B with a tensile strength of 22.73 MPa. The diametral tensile strength value is influenced by the volume of reinforcing fibers, the volume of the binding matrix and the press mold load given to the molding of the composite. Function tests on straight tracks, points, level crossings and curved tracks can run smoothly without any derailments occurring. Noise test wheels made of composites have a lower noise level compared to lorry wheels using nodular cast ironBahan pembuat roda telah menggunakan berbagai jenis bahan mulai dari menggunakan logam dan karet. Bahkan sekarang untuk mendapatkan bahan yang kuat dan ringan mulai berkembang roda dengan bahan dasar komposit. Dalam perancangan roda lori inspeksi berbahan komposit ini harus diperhitungkan dengan baik supaya tidak terjadi anjlok maupun selip saat berjalan dan sesuai dengan syarat utama lori yang mudah untuk diangkat dan dipindahkan. Pembuatan roda berbahan komposit masih jarang ditemui di dunia perkeretaapian. Pembuatan roda lori inspeksi berbahan komposit ini menggunakan serat nilon dan serat rami sebagai penguat dan resin epoksi sebagai matriksnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengurangi beban lori inspeksi generasi ketiga yang awalnya menggunakan roda berbahan besi cor nodular. Metode pembuatan roda lori inspeksi berbahan komposit ini menggunakan metode hand lay-up. Langkah awal yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah perancangan desain, penentuan bahan, melakukan pengujian kuat tarik diametral dengan standar spesimen ASTM D695, dan terakhir pembuatan roda komposit untuk dilakukannya uji lintas di rel PPI Madiun. Dari hasil pengujian kuat tarik diametral yang dilakukan diperoleh spesimen yang memiliki nilai kuat tarik diametral tertinggi yaitu sampel 1B sebesar 76,88 MPa dan kekuatan terendah adalah pada sampel 2B dengan kekuatan tarik sebesar 22,73 MPa. Uji fungsi pada track lurus, wesel, perlintasan sebidang dan jalur lengkung dapat berjalan dengan lancar tanpa terjadi peristiwa anjlokan. Uji kebisingan roda berbahan komposit memiliki tingkat kebisingan lebih rendah dibanding dengan roda lori yang menggunakan besi cor nodular

    Desa Klagenserut adalah desa di kecamatan Jiwan, kabupaten Madiun, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Mata pencaharian utama masyarakat Desa Klagenserut adalah bertani, berdagang dan wirausaha. Selain itu, warga menciptakan lapangan kerja sendiri yang dibutuhkan oleh warga lain. Sebagian warga membuka sebuah usaha dengan membuka sebuah bengkel las rumahan. Mereka mengerjakan beberapa produk dan menghasilkan sebuah produk seperti pembuatan pagar besi, tralis besi, kanopi, tangga besi, perbaikan mesin pertanian dan sebagainya. Bengkel las tersebut mengerjakan produk tersebut dari material besi hollow, besi plat, besi siku dan juga material stainless steel. Material stainless steel ini di masyarakat dikenal sebagai material yang tahan korosi dan mempunyai nilai estetika lebih bagus dibandingkan material logam lainnya. Namun masyarakat Desa Klagenserut khususnya yang membuka usaha dengan membuka bengkel las rumahan, masih belum memahami betul bagaimana cara yang tepat dalam melakukan proses pemotongan, proses penyambungan dan proses pembentukan material stainless steel. Sehingga dibutuhkan sebuah penyuluhan dan pelatihan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan proses pengelasan pada material stainless steel. Keselamatan dalam proses pemotongan logam dan keselamatan dalam proses pembentukan khususnya pada material stainless steel sangatlah penting, Dengan pelatihan ini semoga warga Desa Klagenserut bisa meningkatkan perekonomian, meningkatkan kesejahteraan, meningkatkan keselamatan dan meningkatkan produk hasil lasan

    Abstract The fastener is one of the most important components in the railway infrastructure that must be inspected and maintained. Installing and removing fasteners nowadays is still using manual tools like hammers and panpullers which take a long time of 12 seconds and can damage the bearings due to the rebound of the tool. And the current tool is a hydraulic pump-based e-clip fastener installation and removal tool that takes 22 seconds to remove the fastener. Therefore, a device is needed to minimize the damage on the bearing so that its use is more effective and its utility is easy because it uses a control switch that is connected to the battery and then connected to an electric jack. This tool is targeted to be able to release the fastening in a period of under 10 seconds.The process of making an electric jack-based e-clip fastener assisting tool can be carried out in several stages, each of which is the design process, the upper frame manufacturing process, the lower frame manufacturing process, the tool pusher frame manufacturing process, the tool balancer frame manufacturing process, and the completion process. The finishing process of the tool manufacturing.The function testing of the electric jack-based e-clip fastener installation and removal assisting tool at Indonesian Railways Company, Rail road unit, Madiun for road and bridge maintenance. Function testing is done twice with two different operators.
