Towarzystwo Kultury Języka – historia i współczesność
The paper Towarzystwo Kultury Języka (Society for Language Culture): the past and the present is a brief recollection of the history of Towarzystwo Poprawności Języka Polskiego (Society for the Proper Use of the Polish Language) and Towarzystwo Krzewienia Poprawności i Kultury Języka (Society for the Propagation of the Proper Use and Culture of the Polish Language), scientific societies operating in the period 1932–1939, the successor of which is Towarzystwo Kultury Języka (Society for Language Culture). It reminds also of the directions of the operation of TKJ and its accomplishments, with a particular focus on the works concerned with the implementation of the project entitled „Dialog pokoleń” (Dialogue of generations) and cooperation with the local governments of Mazovia and Podlasie poviats, cities and towns
Logopedia w Uniwersytecie Warszawskim
The paper entitled Logopaedics at the University of Warsaw is composed of two sections. Section one discusses profi les of the following linguists: Jan Baudouin de Courtenay, Tytus Benni, Witold Doroszewski, Halina Koneczna, and Irena Styczek, whose academic research and organisational activity contributed most to the formation of the research on speech acquisition, development, and disorders at the University of Warsaw. Section two presents the history of establishing institutions training speech therapists at the University of Warsaw: Podyplomowe Studium Ortofonii Szkolnej (Postgraduate Studies of School Orthophony), Podyplomowe (later: Pomagisterskie) Studium Logopedyczne (Postgraduate Studies of Logopaedics), and various organisational forms and frameworks of training speech therapists as part of full-time programmes
Doktor Krystyna Długosz-Kurczabowa i jej działalność w Towarzystwie Kultury Języka
This paper is dedicated to the popularisation and organisational activities pursued by Dr Krystyna Długosz-Kurczabowa (1941–2016), Head of the Warsaw Branch of Towarzystwo Kultury Języka (Society for Language Culture) for many years. The author enumerates the functions she held in TKJ and discusses her achievements in the area of popularising the knowledge of language and providing linguistic guidance
