Update on Counting Valence Quarks at RHIC
We update our former analysis of the Nuclear Modification Factors (NMF) for
different hadron species at RHIC and LHC. This update is motivated by the new
experimental data from STAR which presents differences with the preliminary
data used to fix some of the parameters in our model. The main change is the
use of AKK fragmentation functions for the hard part of the spectrum and minor
adjustments of the coalescence (soft) contribution. We confirm that observation
of the NMF for the f_0 meson can shed light on its quark composition.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
A comparative study of Jet-quenching Schemes
The four major approximation schemes devised to study the modification of
jets in dense matter are outlined. The comparisons are restricted to basic
assumptions and approximations made in each case and the calculation
methodology used. Emergent underlying similarities between apparently disparate
methods brought about by the approximation schemes are exposed.
Parameterizations of the medium in each scheme are discussed in terms of the
transport coefficient . Discrepancies between the estimates obtained
from the four schemes are discussed. Recent developments in the basic theory
and phenomenology of energy loss are highlighted.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, latex, plenary presentation at the 19th

Quark-Gluon Matter
A concise review of the experimental and phenomenological progress in
high-energy heavy-ion physics over the past few years is presented. Emphasis is
put on measurements at BNL-RHIC and CERN-SPS which provide information on
fundamental properties of QCD matter at extreme values of temperature, density
and low-x. The new opportunities accessible at the LHC, which may help clarify
some of the current open issues, are also outlined.Comment: Minor changes to text. New refs. included. Updated figures with final

Mach Cones in Quark Gluon Plasma
The experimental azimuthal dihadron distributions at RHIC show a double peak
structure in the away side ( rad.) for intermediate
particles. A variety of models have appeared trying to describe this
modification. We will review most of them, with special emphasis in the Conical
Flow scenario in which the observed shape is a consequence of the emission of
sound by a supersonic high momentum particle propagating in the Quark Gluon
Plasma.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, Invited plenary talk given at the 19th

Jet hadrochemistry as a characteristics of jet quenching
Jets produced in nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC are expected to be
strongly modified due to the interaction of the parton shower with the dense
QCD matter. Here, we point out that jet quenching can leave signatures not only
in the longitudinal and transverse jet energy and multiplicity distributions,
but also in the hadrochemical composition of the jet fragments. In particular,
we show that even in the absence of medium effects at or after hadronization,
the medium-modification of the parton shower can result in significant changes
in jet hadrochemistry. We discuss how jet hadrochemistry can be studied within
the high-multiplicity environment of nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC.Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures, LaTe
Jet quenching
We present a comprehensive review of the physics of hadron and jet production
at large transverse momentum in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions.
Emphasis is put on experimental and theoretical "jet quenching" observables
that provide direct information on the (thermo)dynamical properties of hot and
dense QCD matter.Comment: Springer Verlag. Landolt-Boernstein Vol. 1-23A. 49 pages. 36 figures.

Point View in Bird and Flower Painting
The “point view” is extremely important as a means of expression in the traditional Chinese painting. Emotion, rationality and power are essential in the Shi Tao studied painting, and how to properly use them may lead to the creation of a completely different result. For the reason that “point view” is a collection of these three points, shouldn’t we only use the soul to feel the inner spirit of n...学位:文学硕士院系专业:艺术教育学院美术系_美术学学号:1862007115166
