    LONG-PRINTED CIRCUIT DELAY LINES.

    No full text
It is shown that the properties of printed circuit delay lines, made out of thin ribbons of dielectric which are metal coated on both sides with only one side etched into a zig-zag pattern, are very similar to those consisting of double unshifted zig-zag patterns of otherwise identical geometry. The characteristics of such lines and their application to the position sensing of streamer pulses over distances of several meters are discussed.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

Protection against Yersinia pseudotuberculosis infection conferred by a Lactococcus lactis mucosal delivery vector secreting LcrV.

International audienceHerein, we sought to evaluate the potential of a recombinant Lactococcus lactis strain secreting the Yersinia pseudotuberculosis low-calcium response V (LcrV) antigen for mucosal vaccination against Yersinia infections. We showed that the recombinant strain induced specific systemic and mucosal antibody and cellular immune responses after intranasal immunization and protected mice against both oral and systemic Y. pseudotuberculosis infections. This constitutes the first proof of principle for a novel anti-Yersinia mucosal vaccination strategy using recombinant lactic acid bacteria

Inclusive production of neutral strange particles in {Mathematical expression} interactions at 70 GeV/c

The inclusive production of K s 0, Λ and {Mathematical expression} particles is investigated in 70 GeV/c {Mathematical expression} interactions in an experiment performed at CERN using BEBC equipped with a TST. Differential cross-sections are studied and compared with corresponding data at surrounding energies. Differences with pp data obtained at the same energy allow an estimate of the K s 0, production cross-section in annihilation processes. Evidence is also given for central {Mathematical expression} production. © 1984 Springer-Verlag.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

The values of the topological cross-sections for {Mathematical expression} interactions at 32 GeV/c are derived from a sample of ∼74 000 events observed in the Mirabelle bubble chamber. The parameters of the charged-particle multiplicity distribution are compared with similar data at other energies and with those obtained for pp interactions. The difference between the {Mathematical expression} and pp topological cross-sections provides parameters for {Mathematical expression} annihilation. © 1982 Società Italiana di Fisica.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

Inclusive production of neutral strange particles in {Mathematical expression} interactions at 32 GeV/c

    No full text
The inclusive Kn, ¶, and {Mathematical expression} production has been studied in a {Mathematical expression} experiment performed in the Mirabelle bubble chamber at an incident beam momentum of 32.1 GeV/c. Total, topological and differential cross sections are presented and compared with those obtained at other energies. The invariant structure functions have been parametrised in the fragmentation region by a power law and are consistent with the expectations based on quark counting rules. © 1981 Springer-Verlag.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

Charged particle and π0 multiplicity distributions and the annihilation properties of {Mathematical expression}p interactions at 70 GeV/c

    No full text
The elastic and inelastic {Mathematical expression}p cross sections at 70 GeV/c have been determined in an experiment performed at CERN using BEBC equipped with a TST. The topological cross sections were measured and the moments of the inelastic multiplicity distribution are 〈nc〉=6.16±0.09, 〈nc〉/D=2.04±0.05 and f2cc=2.97±0.03. The average number of Dalitz pairs per inelastic event is (3.12±0.09)×10-2. Assuming that these all arise from π0 decay the average π0 multiplicity is {Mathematical expression}. The {Mathematical expression}p-pp cross section differences lead to an annihilation cross section σA = 4.42±0.41 mb and the moments of the annihilation multiplicty distribution are 〈nA〉=8.0±0.3, 〈nA〉/D=2.5±0.2 and f2A--=-1.4±0.3. An independent check of σA was made by investigating fast forward charged and neutral secondary interactions in the TST and in the surrounding neon-hydrogen mixture, and gives a value σA = 5.0±1.6 mb. The ratio of fast {Mathematical expression} to {Mathematical expression} production in non-annihilation interactions at 70 GeV/c is found to be 0.45±0.11. © 1982 Springer-Verlag.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

Study of inclusive production of π± and protons in {Mathematical expression}p interactions at 32 GeV/c

    No full text
Results are presented on the inclusive production of π± mesons and protons in {Mathematical expression}p interactions at an incident antiproton momentum of 32 GeV/c in the MIRABELLE bubble chamber, based on a sample of 55,000 inelastic events. The spectra of π+(π-) and p( {Mathematical expression}) are separated in the whole kinematically admitted region of phase space by a statistical method. The semi-inclusive and inclusive cross sections and the main average characteristics of π and p production are calculated. The invariant differential cross sections are studied as functions of the Fevnman scaling variable x, the rapidity and the transverse momentum. The x distribution of π± mesons in the proton fragmentation region does not show any significant contribution from quark exchange or annihilation processes. A possible contribution of hard quark scattering on mesons or baryons is observed for large transverse momenta. © 1982 Springer-Verlag.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

30ème anniversaire. Renouveler la question migratoire

    No full text
