Symmetric bifurcation analysis of synchronous states of time-delayed coupled Phase-Locked Loop oscillators

In recent years there has been an increasing interest in studying time-delayed coupled networks of oscillators since these occur in many real life applications. In many cases symmetry patterns can emerge in these networks, as a consequence a part of the system might repeat itself, and properties of this subsystem are representative of the dynamics on the whole phase space. In this paper an analysis of the second order N-node time-delay fully connected network is presented which is based on previous work by Correa and Piqueira \cite{Correa2013} for a 2-node network. This study is carried out using symmetry groups. We show the existence of multiple eigenvalues forced by symmetry, as well as the existence of Hopf bifurcations. Three different models are used to analyze the network dynamics, namely, the full-phase, the phase, and the phase-difference model. We determine a finite set of frequencies $\omega$, that might correspond to Hopf bifurcations in each case for critical values of the delay. The $S_n$ map is used to actually find Hopf bifurcations along with numerical calculations using the Lambert W function. Numerical simulations are used in order to confirm the analytical results. Although we restrict attention to second order nodes, the results could be extended to higher order networks provided the time-delay in the connections between nodes remains equal.Comment: 41 pages, 18 figure

Estimando a Aversão ao Risco, a Taxa de Desconto Intertemporal, e a Substutibilidade Intertemporal do Consumo no Brasil usando Três tipos de Função Utilidade (Versão Preliminar)

Este trabalho estima, usando o método generalizado dos momentos e dados brasileiros, os parâmetros estruturais do modelo CCAPM (consumption capital asset pricing model) a partir de três classes de funções utilidade distintas: função utilidade potência (CES/CRRA), utilidade com hábito externo, e aversão ao desapontamento (Kreps-Porteus). Estes parâmetros estruturais estão associados à aversão ao risco, à elasticidade de substituição intertemporal no consumo e a taxa de desconto intertemporal da utilidade futura, o foco central desse artigo. Os resultados aqui obtidos são analisados e comparados com resultados anteriores para dados brasileiros e americanos.

Summary this article is the result of communication in 36 national meeting of rural and urban Studies, organized by the core of support for research and the Centre for rural studies and Urban da Universidade de São Paulo. Here, on the basis of my dissertation, whose research is still in progress, do a little analysis of the telenovela Irmãos Coragem displayed by the Rede Globo Television in the early 1970s, taking into account the representation of the Community country life, involved in the everyday social dilemma of the season: the obligation to make progress and to modernise, meta by civil-military autocracy installed in power since 1964 for the country and that, through the use of the media, has become a goal of all Brazilians.O presente artigo é resultado de comunicação apresentada no 36º Encontro Nacional de Estudos Rurais e Urbanos, organizado pelo Núcleo de Apoio à Pesquisa Centro de Estudos Rurais e Urbanos da Universidade de São Paulo.
