Possible dibaryons in the quark cluster model
In the framework of RGM, the binding energy of one channel
() and are studied in the
chiral SU(3) quark cluster model. It is shown that the binding energies of the
systems are a few tens of MeV. The behavior of the chiral field is also
investigated by comparing the results with those in the SU(2) and the extended
SU(2) chiral quark models. It is found that the symmetry property of the
system makes the contribution of the relative kinetic energy
operator between two clusters attractive. This is very beneficial for forming
the bound dibaryon. Meanwhile the chiral-quark field coupling also plays a very
important role on binding. The S-wave phase shifts and the corresponding
scattering lengths of the systems are also given.Comment: LeTex with 2 ps figure
Weak decays of 4He-Lambda
We measured the lifetime and the mesonic and non-mesonic decay rates of the
4He-Lambda hypernucleus. The hypernuclei were created using a 750 MeV/c
momentum K- beam on a liquid 4He target by the reaction 4He(K-,pi-)4He-Lambda.
The 4He-Lambda lifetime was directly measured using protons from Lambda p -> n
p non-mesonic decay (also referred to as proton-stimulated decay) and was found
to have a value of tau = 245 +/- 24 ps. The mesonic decay rates were determined
from the observed numbers of pi-'s and pi0's as Gamma_pi-/Gamma_tot = 0.270 +/-
0.024 and Gamma_pi0/Gamma_tot = 0.564 +/- 0.036, respectively, and the values
of the proton- and neutron-stimulated decay rates were extracted as
Gamma_p/Gamma_tot = 0.169 +/- 0.019 and Gamma_n/Gamma_tot <= 0.032 (95% CL),
respectively. The effects of final-state interactions and possible 3-body
Lambda N N decay contributions were studied in the context of a simple model of
nucleon-stimulated decay. Nucleon-nucleon coincidence events were observed and
were used in the determination of the non-mesonic branching fractions. The
implications of the results of this analysis were considered for the empirical
Delta I = 1/2 rule and the decay rates of the 4H-Lambda hypernucleus.Comment: 15 pages, 11 figures, published in PRC, revised content to match

Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy of O and N Hypernuclei via the O reaction
he bound-state level structures of the O and
N hypernuclei were studied by -ray spectroscopy using
a germanium detector array (Hyperball) via the O ()
reaction. A level scheme for O was determined from the
observation of three -ray transitions from the doublet of states
(,) at MeV to the ground-state doublet (,). The
N hypernuclei were produced via proton emission from unbound
states in O . Three -rays were observed and the
lifetime of the state in N was measured by the
Doppler shift attenuation method. By comparing the experimental results with
shell-model calculations, the spin-dependence of the interaction is
discussed. In particular, the measured O ground-state doublet
spacing of 26.4 1.6 0.5 keV determines a small but nonzero strength
of the tensor interaction.Comment: 22 pages, 17 figure
--Dependence of Bond Energies in Double--- Hypernuclei
The -dependence of the bond energy of the
hypernuclear ground states is calculated in a three-body
model and in the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock approach.
Various and -nucleus or potentials

looks unlikely that it will be possible to extract
interaction from the double- hypernuclear energies only, the

First Measurement of A_N at sqrt(s)=200 GeV in Polarized Proton-Proton Elastic Scattering at RHIC
We report on the first measurement of the single spin analyzing power (A_N)
at sqrt(s)=200GeV, obtained by the pp2pp experiment using polarized proton
beams at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Data points were measured
in the four momentum transfer t range 0.01 < |t| < 0.03 (GeV/c)^2. Our result,
averaged over the whole t-interval is about one standard deviation above the
calculation, which uses interference between electromagnetic spin-flip
amplitude and hadronic non-flip amplitude, the source of A_N. The difference
could be explained by an additional contribution of a hadronic spin-flip

"London is avocado on toastâ : the urban imaginaries of the #LondonIsOpen campaign
This article examines the production, representations, and reactions to the #LondonIsOpen campaign to ask how urban imaginaries are produced and what they entail for understanding the city. The analysis considers how the idea of a cosmopolitan, diverse, and multicultural city is framed, what it includes and excludes, and the distinct geographies of the city it produces. It draws on three data sources: documentary analysis of videos used in the campaign; social media analysis of tweets using #LondonIsOpen; and semi-structured interviews with key figures in the campaign team. The main arguments are that the appeal to openness contributes to the versatility of the campaign and the range of responses to it, making it highly adaptable and flexible to respond to current affairs; and that open London is geographically selective and imagined as business focused; trendy; and cosmopolitan. In turn, the reactions to the idea of open London range from seeking a borderless world to anti-migrant rhetoric. Although the campaign represents London as welcoming and inclusive, such welcoming is partial and subject to contestation. The article concludes that over time, the openness of #LondonIsOpen has come to serve multiple political functions and act as a brand for the city

The politics of in/visibility: carving out queer space in Ul'yanovsk
<p>In spite of a growing interest within sexualities studies in the concept of queer space (Oswin 2008), existing literature focuses almost exclusively on its most visible and territorialised forms, such as the gay scene, thus privileging Western metropolitan areas as hubs of queer consumer culture (Binnie 2004). While the literature has emphasised the political significance of queer space as a site of resistance to hegemonic gender and sexual norms, it has again predominantly focused on overt claims to public space embodied in Pride events, neglecting other less open forms of resistance.</p><p>
This article contributes new insights to current debates about the construction and meaning of queer space by considering how city space is appropriated by an informal queer network in Ulâianovsk. The group routinely occupied very public locations meeting and socialising on the street or in mainstream cafĂ©s in central Ulâianovsk, although claims to these spaces as queer were mostly contingent, precarious or invisible to outsiders. The article considers how provincial location affects tactics used to carve out communal space, foregrounding the importance of local context and collective agency in shaping specific forms of resistance, and questioning ethnocentric assumptions about the empowering potential of visibility.</p>
