ICT Integration in Developing Competence for Pre- Service Mathematics Teachers A Case Study from Six Universities in Vietnam
Competence structure that pre-service teachers need to develop to become a future teacher has been defined since the 1930s. For pre-service mathematics teachers, their competence has its own characteristics. ICT integration in developing competence for pre-service mathematics teachers has been been proved to be effective in many previous studies. In Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has recommended the use of ICT to enhance teaching-learning activities in schools and universities, therefore, there have been many studies on ICT intergration at different educational levels. However, there are only a few studies on the use ICT integration in developing competence for pre-service mathematics teachers. This paper presents results from a research on the feasibility of ICT integration in developing competence of Vietnamese pre-service mathematics teachers. The research was conducted by surveying on a randomly selected of 297 pre-service mathematics teachers and 40 mathematics lecturers in six universities which provide mathematics training programs. Results show that despite of the availability of technologies, ICT integration in training pre-service teachers is still limited. In addition, ICT integration in teaching activities of mathematics teachers is not really effective because the levels of their ICT skills are very different. Pre-service mathematics teachers have the ability to use ICT equipment, and good accessibility to learning systems, but their use of the learning management systems (LMS) is limited. This study can be a reference for future studies to test the effective of ICT integration in training pre-service teachers when designing activities to develop feasibly and effectively their competence
Dataset of Vietnamese students’ intention in respect of study abroad before and during COVID-19 pandemic
The Covid-19 Pandemic had completely disrupted the worldwide educational system. Many schools chose the online delivery mode for students in case learning losses incurred during social distance decree. However, as to these students who are currently in the study abroad planning stages, reached an intention crossroads, whether standing for certain unchanging decisions in study abroad destinations or changing swiftly due to the unexpected policies in quarantine. This case opened to interpretation, which was based on our e-survey since 3 May to 13 May 2020 with 397 responses covering a range of Vietnamese students. In this dataset, we focused on (i) Students’ Demographics; (ii) The previous intention of students to study abroad before and during the Covid-19 ravaged and (iii) Their intention afterwards
Exhaustive existence and non-existence results for some prototype polyharmonic equations in the whole space
In this paper, we are interested in entire, non-trivial, non-negative
solutions and/or entire, positive solutions to the simplest models of
polyharmonic equations with power-type nonlinearity with , , and . We aim to study the existence and non-existence
of such classical solutions to the above equations in the full range of the
constants , and . Remarkably, we are able to provide necessary
and sufficient conditions on the exponent to guarantee the existence
of such solutions in . Finally, we identify all the situations
where any entire non-trivial, non-negative classical solution must be positive.Comment: 18 pages, 0 figur
Lecane (Rotifera: Lecanidae) community in psammon habitat in Central Coast Vietnam: Diversity and relation to environmental condition
Characteristics of the Lecane (Rotifera) community in psammon in Central Coast Vietnam were investigated. A total of 50 taxa were identified in samples collected at hygropsammon zones of temporary pools, contributing 4 new species to rotifers' record of Vietnam. Psammonxenic species accounted for the largest percentage of Lecane community with 82%, followed by psammophiles (12%) and psammonbionts (6%). Influences of some environmental factors on the distribution of psammic lecanids were also observed. This group of organisms showed a slight tendency towards sand with grain sizes larger than 125 µm. Besides, other abiotic factors including pH, total phosphorus (TP) and total dissolved solids (TDS) were also found to significantly related to the distribution of some common Lecane species
Retrieval of material properties of monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides from magnetoexciton energy spectra
Reduced exciton mass, polarizability, and dielectric constant of the
surrounding medium are essential properties for semiconduction materials, and
they can be extracted recently from the magnetoexciton energies. However, the
acceptable accuracy of the previously suggested method requires very high
magnetic intensity. Therefore, in the present paper, we propose an alternative
method of extracting these material properties from recently available
experimental magnetoexciton s-state energies in monolayer transition-metal
dichalcogenides (TMDCs). The method is based on the high sensitivity of exciton
energies to the material parameters in the Rytova-Keldysh model. It allows us
to vary the considered material parameters to get the best fit of the
theoretical calculation to the experimental exciton energies for the ,
, and states. This procedure gives values of the exciton reduced mass
and 2D polarizability. Then, the experimental magnetoexciton spectra compared
to the theoretical calculation gives also the average dielectric constant.
Concrete applications are presented only for monolayers WSe and WS from
the recently available experimental data. However, the presented approach is
universal and can be applied to other monolayer TMDCs. The mentioned fitting
procedure requires a fast and effective method of solving the Schr\"{o}dinger
of an exciton in monolayer TMDCs with a magnetic field. Therefore, we also
develop such a method in this study for highly accurate magnetoexciton
energies.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, 4 table
Some preliminary results of paleo-tsunami study in the coastal region of the Nghe An province, Vietnam
In the coastal region of the Nghe An province, the geomorphology is characterized by appearances of fields of arca granosa with placura placenta and hills of placura placenta with arca granosa, namely: The hills of placura placenta with the arca granosa shells in the Quynh Van and Nghi Tien communes; the fields of arca granosa with the placura placenta: deep-seated in the Quynh Nghia, Dien Chau and along the Nghi Yen coast  which have age of 4,500 - 4,300 yrs.; The appearance of the placura placenta-arca granosa shell’s fields and hills which do not originate from either marine transgression in the Holocene epoch, tectonic movement or artificiality; Our results suggest that there were three tsunami events occurring in the past during the periods of 4,500 - 4,300; 4,100 - 3,900 and 900 - 600 yrs., respectively in the region
Studying and forecasting the evolution of the Day river coastal zone up to the year of 2070
The Day river coastal zone is the place of plentiful and eventful economical activities and the natural habitat of diverse endemic species that should be preserved and developed. According to the updated geological, remote-sensing and oceanographic data sources, this study figures out the actual state, evolutional history and forecasts the development of the Day river coastal zone up to the year 2070, which could be used to improve the effectiveness of the long-term spatial coastal zone management and master planning. Major conclusions are as follows: (i) The Day river coastline has been highly modified since the last 50 years, (ii) The shoreline seaward development tends to gradually decrease in recent years, and (iii) The river-bed continues to be shifted southwestwards in the context of global climate change and sea level rise.Abstract STUDYING AND FORECASTING THE EVOLUTION OF THE DAY RIVER COASTAL ZONE UPTO THE YEAR 2050 Duong Quoc Hung1, Vu Hai Dang1, Phan Dong Pha1, Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet1, Ngo Bich Huong1, Nguyen Thai Son2 (1) Institute of Marine Geology and Goephysics; (2) Institute of Geography The coastal geographical features including alluvial grouds, estuaries, mangrove forest, etc. are products of the river - ocean interactions, reflect the dynamic equilibrium of the unsustainable ecosystems that are spacial and temporary changing. These areas are also the places of plentiful and eventful economical activities and the natural diversified endemic habitats to be preserved and developed. According to the updated data sources, this study mentions to the actual state, evolution history and developing forecasts for the Day River coastal zone up to the year of 2050, which could be used to inhale the effectiveness of the long-term spacial coastal zone management and master plannin
