    p-/sup 3/He and p-/sup 3/H elastic scattering at 600 MeV

    No full text
The elastic scattering of 600 MeV protons from /sup 3/He and /sup 3/H has been measured at the CERN S.C. with a ' Delta E, E' telescope of semiconductor detectors. The experimental cross sections are plotted. One sees that the abscissae of the minima are about the same; according to the Glauber theory (1959) that means about equal radii for /sup 3/He and /sup 3/H; furthermore, the cross sections are not very different. These values are higher than those measured at 580 Me V: the fact that the total cross sections sigma /sub pp/ and sigma /sub pn/ are increasing rather sharply could partly explain this result; in addition, the Glauber multiple scattering increases such variations. A preliminary analysis of the results according to the Glauber method is made. Spin effects are not taken into account. (14 refs)

Coloumb nuclear interference in p-d elastic scattering at 600 MeV

    No full text
An experiment has been recently performed at CERN S.C. to determine at 600 MeV the real part of p-n forward scattering amplitude via the Coulomb nuclear interference in p-d elastic scattering. A multiple scattering calculation rather similar has been made taking into account spin effects. The five p-p and p-n amplitudes are deduced from the phase shift analysis. The theoretical cross section is in good agreement with experimental points. (6 refs)
