Association between venous anomaly of the cerebellum and tremor

    Get PDF
Tremor is an involuntary movement of a body part that often occurs due to damage to the extrapyramidal system. Action-intention tremor usually occurs in ipsilateral lesions of the cerebellum. Such lesions can be caused by changes in venous drainage created by venous anomalies

The impact of global financial crisis on Serbian banking sector: the NBS response

    Get PDF
This paper presents a set of measures and instruments which National Bank of Serbia has taken to prevent or at least ease the effects of global financial crisis on national financial system and support confidence in Serbian banking sector during the last two years. It describes the main drivers of global financial crisis and recognize their indirect impact on Serbian economy. Our aim was to recognize effectiveness of NBS monetary policy in maintaining financial stability as one of the potential guidelines and guarantees for the further development of Serbian banking sector. We found out that NBS activated both conventional and non-conventional measures and instruments of policy under Vienna Initiative and in relation to the arrangement with IMF. All these measures were very successful if we take in consideration that NBS was running last five years anti-cyclical policy and given that there were no serious liquidity problems and capital adequacy ratio for whole banking system is beyond required minimum even under performed stress tests

ON DIFFERENCES BETWEEN GILLES DE LA TOURETTE SYNDROME AND PSYCHOGENIC/FUNCTIONAL TICS: A NARRATIVE REVIEW

    Get PDF
A tic is a sudden, rapid, recurrent, nonrhythmic motor movement or vocalization. Motor and phonic tics in a course of over 1 year that first occured before 18 years are the main features of Gilles de la Tourette syndrome (GTS). Psychogenic/functional ( P/F) tics were considered as a diagnosis made per exlusionem in lack of agreement of diagnostic criteria. Recently, emphasis is in r ather highlighting positive signs when making diagnosis of P/F tics. Several features in clinical course are important to differentia te GTS from P/F tics. Some of them are acute onset in adulthood, precipitation by physical event, absent family history of tics, varia ble, complex and inconsistent phenomenology, suggestibiity, distractibility. Premonitory urge, feeling of excessive energy and being \u27wound up\u27 prior tic, is a usual feature of GTS unlike in P/F tics. If present, such premonitory urge have different qualitativ e and quantitative marks. Another possible diagnostics tool could be the beireitshaftspotential, an event-related electrical potentia l associated to initiation of movement which is divided in two phases, early (B1) and late (B2) phase. Early phase, whose occuren ce in some papers has been reported prior P/F tics, is absent prior performed tic in GTS. In everyday clinical practice differentiati ng GTS from P/F tics is often very challenging but taking proper medical history, paying more attention to positive signs and possibly using electroneurophysiology tests could contribute in making the right diagnosis

Humor and Co-Creation as Levers of Valorization of Tourism Attractions: Case Study from Vodnjan, Croatia

    Get PDF
Tourists are highly selective, they are looking for the unforgettable experiences and they want to familiarize with the tradition and the culture of the local residents, which represents a great challenge for the tourism products and service providers because they constantly have to create new and interesting activities, because tourists are no longer interested in sightseeing of the cultural and the historical heritage, but they also want to be a part of it. The purpose of this case study is to affect the perceptions of visitor of Vodnjan (Croatia) by enriching their cultural experience. The goal is to propose a model of collaboration of tourists in the creation of such experiences. The appeal to humor, as a still under researched topic in function of tourism, as well as the principles of co-creation, rarely used in tourism, were combined to help revalorize Vodnjan\u27s tourism attractions and the destination itself. Challenges of Information and Communication Technologies Usage in E-Business Systems

    Get PDF
In today\u27s identification and data collection methods on traffic entities, large number of traffic and logistic systems uses one of the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technologies. The mentioned group contains information and communication technologies such as radioā€frequency identification (RFID), realā€time location systems (RTLS), near field communication (NFC), global positioning system (GPS), and beacon and advanced tagging technologies such as barcode and quick response code (QR code) which can be implemented with function of mobile traffic entities identification in traffic environment. In this chapter, possibilities and characteristics of mentioned technologies will be described from the aspect of their usage in traffic system through implementation of eā€business. Data collection and exchange concept will be based on cloud computing and Internet of Things concepts. Through various case study examples in traffic environment, more efficient use of AIDC technologies in traffic system will be shown

THE ASSESSMENT OF PSYCHOPATHIC TRAITS IN PERPERTRATORS WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA AND PSYCHOPATHY AS COMORBIDITY

This paper discusses the assessment of psychopatic traits in perpetrators with schizofrenia in the light of common assumption that perpetrators with schizofrenia are not homogenic group but rather heterogenic group whose future risk does not rest exclusively on the psychopathology of the underlying disease. Our sample consists of 150 perperators with schizofrenia who commited a criminal act and were subjects of forensic evaluation in the Unive throughout a period of 11 years. All data were extracted from written evaluations. In our research, the assessment of psychopatic trait was performed by PCL-R (Psychopathy Checklist- Revised) - the assessment tool rarely used in Croatia. Data were analysed by methods of descriptive statistics and multivariant discriminatory analysis. Our results show that some of psychopatic traits exist in all of our evaluees, but with markedly different intensity. The average PCL-R score was 19,92 (SD=8,30), and by defining the cut off at 26, our subjects were divided into two groups: subjects with a higher level of psychopathy trait (High-P) and those with a lower level of psychopathy trait (Low-P). These two groups showed significant differences in all of the items. The confirmation of our hypothesis opens new areas for discussion and future research: problem of comorbidites in patients with schizofrenia in a forensic setting and a rationale for the routine usage of PCL-R in forensic evaluations

Possibilities of Applying ICT to Improve Safe Movement of Blind and Visually Impaired Persons

    Get PDF
Todayā€™s level of the development of information and communication technologies enables the implementation of assistive technologies that can contribute to improved mobility of the persons with impaired vision (users that move along the traffic network). The user in this research has the role of a pedestrian moving along the traffic network, using information and communication technology (ICT) solutions and services for the purpose of information about the surrounding and navigation. In order to achieve greater information and safe movement of the user in the environment, one has to identify and define the relevant parameters necessary to define the userā€™s requirements, as the basic precondition for the design of new information and communication services. The analysis of the most used application solutions for mobile terminal devices showed the failure in providing precise information to the user, designing of functionality, structure of information and education of the users about the new solutions and services. The downsides of the current applications have served as the basis in defining the recommendations for the development of future applications, with the aim of increasing the user safety. Proper structure of information allows the user a faster and easier search of relevant information and information methods while moving along the traffic network elements. Therefore, the recommendations in designing future solutions and services based on possible technologies of short coverage area (RFID, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, RTLS) have been defined. These technologies allow communication connectivity of the users, other traffic entities and the entire traffic surrounding into a unique whole by using the principle of Internet of Things (IoT)
