Psychopathic personality disorder and cybercriminality: an outline of the issue
The rapid development of information and communication technologies has created a new dimension in interpersonal relationships, which is commonly called cyberspace. Structural features of cyberspace such as anonymity, the lack of non-verbal indicators of interaction, their asynchrony, a sense of impunity and the lack of specific norms of conduct cause that the behavior of some people online may differ significantly from their behavior in real life. Individuals with psychopathic personality disorder can use cyberspace for criminal activities such as cyberbullying, trolling, digital piracy, cybervandalism or data theft. This is a very significant problem, as some researchers predict that as digital communication develops, ‘cyberpsychopaths’ will become the dominant form of criminals. Currently, there is a lack of research on the relationship between the structural features of cyberspace and the expression of psychopathic personality traits and their role in committing cybercrimes. The rapid development of information and communication technologies has created a new dimension in interpersonal relationships, which is commonly called cyberspace. Headache as a sign of cerebral vein thrombosis
Zakrzepica żylna wewnątrzczaszkowa stanowi około 0,5% przypadków udaru mózgu. Jest to ważny problem kliniczny, nadal
zbyt rzadko rozpoznawany. Przyczyny tego stanu patologicznego są różnorodne, obserwuje się także różnice w przebiegu
schorzenia i rokowaniu.
W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano przypadek pacjentki, u której wykryto wewnątrzczaszkową zakrzepicę żylną i po
leczeniu uzyskano regresję zmian zakrzepowych.
W pracy przedstawiono podstawowe informacje dotyczące etiologii, objawów klinicznych i leczenia zakrzepicy. Dobre
rokowanie w większości przypadków, przy odpowiednio przeprowadzonej diagnostyce i leczeniu, powinno umożliwiać coraz
lepsze poznawanie tej patologii.Cerebral vein thrombosis accounts for an estimated 0.5% of all strokes. It remains a major clinical concern that is still too
rarely diagnosed. The causes of CVT vary, with differences occurring in the history and prognosis of the condition.
This article discusses the case of a female patient diagnosed with cerebral vein thrombosis, in which regression of
thrombotic lesions was achieved during treatment.
We will provide basic facts on the aetiology, clinical symptoms and treatment of thrombosis. In the majority of cases, good
prognosis should — given the adequate diagnosis and treatment — allow us to improve our understanding of CVT
Anthropometric characteristics of four Polish children with mucopolysaccharidosis
BACKGROUND: Mucopolysaccharidosis relates to a group of seven prevalent types of disorders that are categorized on the basis of specific enzyme deficiency or the major symptoms, or both. A typical clinical presentation includes such symptoms and characteristics as short stature, facial dysmorphism, skeletal deformities, pulmonary dysfunction, joint stiffness and contractures, myocardial hypertrophy, neurological symptoms, and mental retardation. CASE PRESENTATION: The purpose of this study was to perform a detailed anthropometric assessment in four cases of children with mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) I and II types aged from 4 to 13 years from the Podkarpacie Province (south-eastern Poland). Anthropometric assessment included several parameters and indices related to body structure. All examined patients are characterized by severely disordered physical growth in comparison with the Polish norms presented in the reference charts. CONCLUSIONS: Examined children with MPS are characterized by especially low values relating to longitudinal and transversal parameters of body build. Anthropometric data could be used in early diagnosis of MPS and assessment of results of its treatment
Transcontinental cargo freights in China-Europe-China relations.
AbstractIn the modern world, in Europe and in Poland there can be observed many forms of cooperation between states and enterprises. Many business entities take a lot of effort to offer the most up-to-date services and to prepare sales and marketing networks ready to win on competitive market. These processes affect transport market as well. The article focuses on global transport services, in particular the competition for international cargo traffic in China-Europe route. It is presented on the background of the globalization and competitive processes in transport services. The demand for transport services, resulting from rapid growth of China is discussed, with particular interest in two modes of transport: railway and sea. The article considers the conditions for China-Europe rail transport due to the recent initiatives towards building the "Silk Road". It opens new possibilities for rail transport to compete on the China - Europe route, especially considering the factor of time. The conclusions present the guidelines for further development on the transport services on the China-Europe route
Integrirani pristup u učenju i poučavanju geografije, povijesti i kemije u temi Europska unija
Tako smo i mi u I. osnovnoj školi Čakovec odlučili obilježiti taj dan i približiti Europu, njen povijesni razvoj, kulturna obilježja i znanstvena postignuća našim učenicima. Na taj način smo kroz radionicu integrirali Povijest, Geografiju i Kemiju, predmete koji povezuju prirodne i društvene znanosti. U pripremi radionice sudjelovali su učiteljica kemije Renata Najman, učiteljice geografije Silvija Martišek i Danijela Perenc-Jaušovec te učitelji povijesti Mario Šestak i Karla Ladić
Interpretation of false positive results of biochemical prenatal tests
Summary Modern, non-invasive prenatal diagnostics based on biochemical and ultrasonographic markers of fetal defects allows us to calculate the risk of fetal chromosomal aneuploidies with high sensitivity and specificity. An introduction of biochemical, non-invasive prenatal tests turned out to result in frequent false positive results of these tests in cases when invasive diagnostics does not confirm fetal defects. However, prospective analysis of these cases showed numerous complications in the third trimester of the pregnancies

Biochemical prenatal tests and uterine artery Doppler examination in prediction of PIH and IUGR in the third trimester of pregnancy
Summary Objectives: PIH and IUGR are serious complications in the third trimester of pregnancy. Many publications claim a connection between false positive prenatal tests and subsequent occurrence of PIH and IUGR. Design: The aim of the study was to estimate the usefulness of the biochemical markers of fetal defects and uterine Doppler examination in predicting PIH and IUGR in the third trimester of pregnancy. Methods: We examined 156 pregnant patients in The Department of the Fetal Medicine and Gynecology, Medical University of Lodz, between 2006-2009. In case of each pregnant woman we estimated biochemical markers in the first (PAPP-A + β-hCG) and second trimester (AFP, β-hCG, uE3- triple test). Each patient underwent three ultrasonographic examinations in the first, second and third trimester (between 11-13, 15-20, and 22-27 weeks gestation, respectively) with uterine artery Doppler examination. We monitored these pregnancies for PIH and IUGR and divided them into three groups: 28 patients with PIH (study group 1), 14 patients with IUGR (study group 2), and 114 patients with uncomplicated pregnancies (controls). Results: In both study groups we observed: higher concentration of β-hCG, higher percentage of the positive biochemical prenatal tests and abnormal uterine artery Doppler waveform. Positive triple test was the strongest predictor of PIH and IUGR (PPV=60.87% for PIH and PPV = 30.77% for IUGR). Conclusions: Biochemical markers and abnormal uterine artery Doppler waveform are associated with PIH and IUGR. These parameters can be the base for the test identifying pregnant patients with high risk of PIH and IUGR
