    The newly observed open-charm states in quark model

    Full text link
    Comparing the measured properties of the newly observed open-charm states D(2550), D(2600), D(2750), D(2760), D_{s1}(2710), D_{sJ}(2860), and D_{sJ}(3040) with our predicted spectroscopy and strong decays in a constituent quark model, we find that: (1) the D(2\,^1S_0) assignment to D(2550) remains open for its too broad width determined by experiment; (2) the D(2600) and Ds1(2710)D_{s1}(2710) can be identified as the 2\,^3S_1-1\,^3D_1 mixtures; (3) if the D(2760) and D(2750) are indeed the same resonance, they would be the D(1\,^3D_3); otherwise, they could be assigned as the D(1\,^3D_3) and D2(1D)D^\prime_2(1D), respectively; (4) the DsJ(2860)D_{sJ}(2860) could be either the Ds1(2710)D_{s1}(2710)'s partner or the D_s(1\,^3D_3); and (5) both the Ds1(2P)D_{s1}(2P) and Ds1(2P)D^\prime_{s1}(2P) interpretations for the DsJ(3040)D_{sJ}(3040) seem likely. The E1E1 and M1M1 radiative decays of these sates are also studied. Further experimental efforts are needed to test the present quarkonium assignments for these new open-charm states.Comment: 26 pages,7 figures, journal versio

    Dilaton Dark Energy Model in f(R), f(T) and Horava-Lifshitz Gravities

    Full text link
    In this work, we have considered dilaton dark energy model in Weyl-scaled induced gravitational theory in presence of barotropic fluid. It is to be noted that the dilaton field behaves as a quintessence. Here we have discussed the role of dilaton dark energy in modified gravity theories namely, f(R); f(T) and Horava-Lifshitz gravities and analyzed the behaviour of the dilaton field and the corresponding potential in respect to these modified gravity theories instead of Einstein's gravity. In f(R) and f(T) gravities, we have considered some particular forms of f(R) and f(T) and we have shown that the potentials always increase with the dilaton fields. But in Horava-Lifshitz gravity, it has been seen that the potential always decreases as dilation field increases

    Radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with covariant light-front quark model

    Full text link
    In this article, we study the radiative transitions among the vector and scalar heavy quarkonium states with the covariant light-front quark model. In calculations, we observe that the radiative decay widths are sensitive to the constituent quark masses and the shape parameters of the wave-functions, and reproduce the experimental data with suitable parameters.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure

    Search for the Rare Decays J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e, J/Psi --> D- e+ nu_e, and J/Psi --> D0bar e+ e-

    Full text link
    We report on a search for the decays J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e + c.c., J/Psi --> D- e+ nu_e + c.c., and J/Psi --> D0bar e+ e- + c.c. in a sample of 5.8 * 10^7 J/Psi events collected with the BESII detector at the BEPC. No excess of signal above background is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions are set: B(J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e + c.c.)<4.8*10^-5, B(J/Psi --> D- e+ nu_e + c.c.) D0bar e+ e- + c.c.)<1.1*10^-5Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure

    Full text link
    Based on a sample of 5.8X 10^7 J/psi events taken with the BESII detector, the branching fractions of J/psi--> 2(pi+pi-)eta and J/psi-->3(pi+pi-)eta are measured for the first time to be (2.26+-0.08+-0.27)X10^{-3} and (7.24+-0.96+-1.11)X10^{-4}, respectively.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure

    BESII Detector Simulation

    Full text link
    A Monte Carlo program based on Geant3 has been developed for BESII detector simulation. The organization of the program is outlined, and the digitization procedure for simulating the response of various sub-detectors is described. Comparisons with data show that the performance of the program is generally satisfactory.Comment: 17 pages, 14 figures, uses elsart.cls, to be submitted to NIM

    A Measurement of Psi(2S) Resonance Parameters

    Full text link
    Cross sections for e+e- to hadons, pi+pi- J/Psi, and mu+mu- have been measured in the vicinity of the Psi(2S) resonance using the BESII detector operated at the BEPC. The Psi(2S) total width; partial widths to hadrons, pi+pi- J/Psi, muons; and corresponding branching fractions have been determined to be Gamma(total)= (264+-27) keV; Gamma(hadron)= (258+-26) keV, Gamma(mu)= (2.44+-0.21) keV, and Gamma(pi+pi- J/Psi)= (85+-8.7) keV; and Br(hadron)= (97.79+-0.15)%, Br(pi+pi- J/Psi)= (32+-1.4)%, Br(mu)= (0.93+-0.08)%, respectively.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figure

    Study of J/ψωK+KJ/\psi \to \omega K^+K^-

    Get PDF
    New data are presented on J/ψωK+KJ/\psi \to \omega K^+K^- from a sample of 58M J/ψJ/\psi events in the upgraded BES II detector at the BEPC. There is a conspicuous signal for f0(1710)K+Kf_0(1710) \to K^+K^- and a peak at higher mass which may be fitted with f2(2150)KKˉf_2(2150) \to K\bar K. From a combined analysis with ωπ+π\omega \pi ^+ \pi ^- data, the branching ratio BR(f0(1710)ππ)/BR(f0(1710)KKˉ)BR(f_0(1710)\to\pi\pi)/BR(f_0(1710) \to K\bar K) is <0.11< 0.11 at the 95% confidence level.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures.     The σ\sigma pole in J/ψωπ+πJ/\psi \to \omega \pi^+ \pi^-

    Full text link
    Using a sample of 58 million J/ψJ/\psi events recorded in the BESII detector, the decay J/ψωπ+πJ/\psi \to \omega \pi^+ \pi^- is studied. There are conspicuous ωf2(1270)\omega f_2(1270) and b1(1235)πb_1(1235)\pi signals. At low ππ\pi \pi mass, a large broad peak due to the σ\sigma is observed, and its pole position is determined to be (541±39)(541 \pm 39) - ii (252±42)(252 \pm 42) MeV from the mean of six analyses. The errors are dominated by the systematic errors.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PL
