    Numerical Analysis for Anchoring Surrounding Rock of Thick and Soft Coal Roadway

    According to the surrounding rock stability type determined through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, bolt and cable support parameters for thick and soft coal roadway were selected based on the engineering analogy method. Considering two conditions that the roadway was arranged along the roof and along the floor, the activity law of the roadway surrounding rock was simulated through Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua in Three Dimensions (FLAC3D) program. The results showed that the lower part of roadway walls in two layout forms has large displacement. When driving along the roof, the maximal floor heave is 3.2 times as many as that of driving along the floor. The roof control is important when the roadway is arranged along the floor. Comparing the surrounding rock deformation, the soft coal roadway arranged along the floor is beneficial to the roadway stability; and it is important to support the top and the lower part of walls.特集 : 「資源、新エネルギー、環境、防災研究国際セミナー

    An efficient symmetric electrolyzer based on bifunctional perovskite catalyst for ammonia electrolysis

    Ammonia is a natural pollutant in wastewater and removal technique such as ammonia electro‐oxidation is of paramount importance. The development of highly efficient and low‐costing electrocatalysts for the ammonia oxidation reaction (AOR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) associated with ammonia removal is subsequently crucial. In this study, for the first time, the authors demonstrate that a perovskite oxide LaNi0.5Cu0.5O3‐δ after being annealed in Ar (LNCO55‐Ar), is an excellent non‐noble bifunctional catalyst towards both AOR and HER, making it suitable as a symmetric ammonia electrolyser (SAE) in alkaline medium. In contrast, the LNCO55 sample fired in air (LNCO55‐Air) is inactive towards AOR and shows very poor HER activity. Through combined experimental results and theoretical calculations, it is found that the superior AOR and HER activities are attributed to the increased active sites, the introduction of oxygen vacancies, the synergistic effect of B‐site cations and the different active sites in LNCO55‐Ar. At 1.23 V, the assembled SAE demonstrates ≈100% removal efficiency in 2210 ppm ammonia solution and >70% in real landfill leachate. This work opens the door for developments towards bifunctional catalysts, and also takes a profound step towards the development of low‐costing and simple device configuration for ammonia electrolysers

    Concentration and fractionation of trace metals in surface sediments of intertidal Bohai Bay, China

    Surface sediments from intertidal Bohai Bay were sampled for the geochemical and environmental assessment of six trace metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn). Results indicate that sediment grain size plays an important role in controlling the distribution and fractionation of them. Metal concentrations in clayey silt sediments are all clearly higher than in sand and silty sand ones. Cd and Pb in clayey silt sediments are more mobile than in sand and silty sand ones. Two sediment quality guidelines and two geochemical normalization methods (index of geoaccumulation and enrichment factor) were used to judge the potential risk and accumulation of metals. According to the mean probable effects level quotient, the combination of studied metals may have a 21% probability of being toxic. The sediments with high fraction of clay and silt have been contaminated by trace metals to various degrees, among which Cr contributes the most to contamination.     Assessment of sediment quality in two important areas of mariculture in the Bohai Sea and the northern Yellow Sea based on acid-volatile sulfide and simultaneously extracted metal results (vol 72, pg 281, 2013)

    The surface sediments from Laizhou Bay (LB) and the coastal sea around Zhangzi Island (ZI) were analyzed for acid-volatile sulfide (AVS) and simultaneously extracted metals (SEMs) to assess the sediment quality. These two areas, especially LB, are important mariculture bases in China and are significantly affected by the Yellow River. The concentrations of AVS ([AVS]) and SEM ([SEM]) varied in the ranges 0.71-11.03 and 0.10-0.74 mu mol g(-1) dry weight, respectively. [AVS] was generally low in the river outlet area and increased in the seaward direction in LB. [AVS] was significantly and positively correlated with TOC. [SEM] was significantly and positively correlated with TOC, the water content of sediment and the fine sediment fraction and it was significantly and negatively correlated with coarse sediment fraction.     Sediment quality of the Bohai Sea and the northern Yellow Sea indicated by the results of acid-volatile sulfide and simultaneously extracted metals determinations

    The surface sediments from the Bohai Sea (BS) and the northern Yellow Sea (NYS) were analyzed for acidvolatile sulfide (AVS) and simultaneously extracted metals (SEM) to assess the sediment quality. The results indicated that>60% of the samples were found to have possible adverse effects on aquatic life in the BS based on the difference between the concentrations of AVS ([AVS]) and SEM ([SEM]), and the corresponding percentage in the NYS was<25%. Nevertheless, there was no indication of adverse effects for all the BS and the NYS samples when the total organic carbon (TOC) concentration was introduced in the sediment quality evaluation with [AVS] and [SEM]. The grain size composition, TOC, water content and pH all had significant influence on the distribution of [SEM] and the [SEM]/[AVS] ratios; while, in contrast, the distribution of [AVS] could be mainly determined by the redox condition of sediment
